"A wish?" Romero snorted in derision. "You'd bank everything on some stupid wish? Now who sounds overly optimistic, hermana? I doubt such an object as you hope for actually exists; and even if it does, what will be its price?"
He glanced at Lukas and saw in the Norwegian's eyes that María spoke the truth. He sighed in mild exasperation and then proceeded to recount his tale. "Bueno. Here's something else that might give you hope. When María went demon earlier, I first tried physical attacks, but of course that doesn't work for two obvious reasons. But then, after I spoke to either her or the demon positively, it steadily began to weaken, and after María told me and Florida what was bothering her so much, she is back to normal. It would seem that having someone there, who you trust, encouraging you that you are stronger than the demon and remaining to listen to your troubles, greatly decreases the time the demon is in control of you. In short, positive encouragement and self-analysis."

Not the kind of place people should visit." she rubbed the back of her head. Why couldn't they have hidden it somewhere safe and reachable? "Anyone got any ideas for an item found in a safe place?" Romero groaned. “If you think I didn’t suggest a thing, then I suggest you get hearing aids, hermana,” he told her, not bothering to mince words. “I just suggested positive encouragement and psychotherapy, and clearly, it worked on you.”
At this point, one of the blondes who he didn’t recognize and had been in this room before finally chose to speak up. Venezuela hesitated. Yggdrasil? Mirmir’s Well? What in the world were those? And, as María chimed in with her own myths about a god become temporarily mortal, it seemed that both she and this other blonde were completely sold on the idea that a wish-granting object would be all the solution they needed. Then again, that line about a god gone mortal sounded awfully familiar…
Romero decided he would add his own two cents after he introduced himself to this unfamiliar blonde. “Hola,” he greeted the stranger. “Romero Valentín, Venezuela.” He extended his hand for a brief handshake and then began to outline how and why he was here. “I don’t know exactly what you all were talking about before, but if you are dead-set on wish-granting objects, I’ve heard of a Greek goddess, Elpis, who was turned human by a vengeant demigod who lusted after her power. I haven’t heard of any objects associated with her, though.” He had been about to say that he’d actually met the goddess personally, but he already didn’t seem to belong here. How would that make him look if he suddenly spouted fantastical tales in front of a group of virtual strangers? Granted, this was the Mythology Club he was in…
The Venezuelan decided to ignore that and get to his main point. “I came here because María just recovered from going demon a few hours ago without the use of any wish-granting objects or serious destruction whatsoever. I didn’t know anything about this black blood and demon possession until I saw it, and quite honestly, I have no idea why mi hermana wants to hide it away from the entire Spanish family.” He shook his head. “But, basta con esto. I found that after encouraging María in many different ways that she was much stronger than this demonic invader in her blood, her spirit was bolstered enough by this to fight back. In the end, no attacks were dealt because her spirit and the demon’s fought it out inside her body, and I am happy to say that María won. Afterwards, Rutilio--the state of Florida—helped her work through the events that were causing her the most pain, and although she cried then, the demon did not reemerge.”
The Venezuelan paused both for breath and to make sure that everyone assembled understood exactly what he had just told them. Then he continued. “Therefore, I am led to believe that, in case your wish-granting object either does not exist or is incredibly difficult to find, there is a much simpler way to suppress your blood demon before it can wreak havoc: positive encouragement to strengthen the spirit and weaken the demon, and perhaps a lengthy chat with a family member to locate the bad memory that causes enough negativity to make the demon awaken.
“Lukas, I admit that I probably know too little of your family to be your psychiatrist, but might you have had any particularly traumatic events in your past that might facilitate the demon’s release?” Romero asked, turning to the Norwegian questioningly.

What I am suggesting is a temporary fix for any outbreaks you may have until you find that object or whatever it is you put your faith in."

However, the blood in us causes intense pain. It feels like it's eating at our soul. Every night, I barely get any sleep. I dream of me going berserk and killing everyone that I hold so dear to me. So, as you see, we know of the temp thing. But that's not enough, what we need is a way to get rid of it. Permanently." she sighed, trying to calm herself down so she wouldn't go berserk again. Romero was very tempted to yell at María himself, but he forced his rage out in a long, irritated breath. He then sighed. “Fine, you’re right. I have no idea how you feel in all this. I’ve never known what it’s like to be possessed. Díos, I’m already not the best Christian around, so who knows how much I’ve forgotten from mythology and religion? But try to consider how abrupt this seems to me, hermana,” he said. “In just a few hours, I learn not only that my sister harbors a demon in her blood, but also that she’s been hiding it for months on end without anybody in the family knowing? If you had just told us, we could’ve gotten rid of the blasted thing months ago! Why did you delay? Why did you tell the Nordics before your brothers and sisters?”

“What I am angry about is that you sprung all this on me and Rutilio in a few hours and expect us to know instantly everything you’ve tried to do about it without any hints whatsoever,” Romero said evenly, unaffected by María’s irritation. “Maybe we could’ve helped you; maybe we couldn’t. Either way, you would’ve had our help in getting rid of your curse.” The Venezuelan had foreseen getting hungry, and he had stuffed a few candies into his pocket before leaving. He took these out and handed them to Mexico. “Here. I won’t tell anyone, but you can’t expect me to understand everything now.”

Lukas contemplated the question that the Venezuelan posed for him, watching as the two hispanic Nations bickered with each other. He noted that they bickered like he did with his own Nordic brothers. Thinking on things from his past, the Norwegian could not find anything in particular that had caused him to feel bad...though there was the Kelmar union, which had placed him in the shadows of Denmark and Sweden for over 400 years. He hoped no one noticed the way his eye twitched at the thought of the Kelmar Union. Besides that, the Second World War had also been rather tough on him as well, granting him a mild dislike of Germany since.
These things were not related to what had happened a few nights ago, though...he had just been tired and irritated then. At last, he spoke, "Romero, that is a good observation that you made for Luz Maria. I do not think there is anything like that for me though. I just lose my hold of the demon if I am feeling tired or excessively irritated."
