Crystal walked for another hour or so before realizing that she needed to go back to Vegas. She had walked most of her steam off by this time and felt horrible about telling Arell off earlier, not to mention slapping Dundee.

She sighed and took out her button to retrieve her bike and pushed it. If they weren't done with it, o well. It wasn't long before her bike got there, still with some sand on it. She huffed and brushed it all off her baby and got on it, driving off.

Threshold chuckled at Dr. Willowfield as he was leaning up against a wall, "We have a meeting in Ivana's office. Follow me doctor." When Willowfield follows the I.O. mentalist to the elevator, Threshold cast his good eye on the scientist, "Have you ... had any changes recently, Dr. Willowfield... Anything worth noting?"

..................

"I'm glad the suits are to your liking doctors. Feel free to make whatever adjustments and upgrades you deem necessary," Ivana made a broad wave of her slender pale hand, smirking at the scientist couple.

Before anything else was said, Zorn entered the office after a brief knock, "Reporting as ordered, Director."

Ivana Baiul turned her raven trussed head to new arrival, grinning like a chesshire cat, "Jimmy, glad for you to join us. Please, have a seat." After a polite nod to Ivana and the others, Zorn did so. Ivana motioned with her hand as she made introductions, "Drs. Jack and Rose Summers, this is Jimmy Zorn. Agent Zorn came to us from Project Stonewall -- which I gave you briefs on. Jimmy will spearhead the application of the Stonewall Protocols on our successful Gen-Actives... to ensure our control over them by using behavior modification supplemented by top-notch training.

While you've been fixing what the hacker did, Jimmy, we've already seen successful Gen-Actives from our genetic specialist here. There are still a large number of failures, but compared to the previous Gen-12s -- we are enjoying a larger success rate. During the last genetic work, our ratio was one in twenty-five...,"
Ivana's grin widened, "So far tonight, our success ratio is one in seven. So far, five out of thirty-five. Excellent work, doctors.

"Now, we're waiting on Matthew and Henry..."

..................

Caitlin's threw up until her heaves brought up nothing and tears ran down both cheeks, as the mousy redhead felt the sharp pain in the marrow of her bones... like someone was stabbing her from the inside out. Just as the increased stress on the arms of her restrains would have been noticed in the control room, the technicians inside COMCOR felt themselves get heavier.

Two of the older I.O. techs collapsed, as another one attempted to reach the emergency shutdown -- but couldn't move (this is from Roxy by the way...).

As most of the techs were beginning to pass out, the machines disengaged powering down, "What the hell was that!?!"

"I think we have another one, guys. Ummm... send in the androids on these two, just in case."

As Caitlin slumped in her chair trembling; six grey robots, identical to the ones Caitlin and Roxy ran into, entered the chamber to collect the pair of girls.

................

Unaware of what just happened in COMCOR, Helga answered Nat's question, "Zere are a number of tests and scans zat ve can use to see vhat abilities you have, Miss Carter. I vill be glad to oversee those, und ve vill help you enter a new vorld vere ze possiblities are endless!"

Willowfield had been watching as they moved floors and blinked for a moment before looking at Threshold when he had spoke. "Not to my knowledge. Why would you ask?" He actually forgot about being blasted through the wall without taken damage, nor damaging the wall. He looked back at the floor number changing.

Matthew chuckled shaking his head and what he took as a private joke. Then the mentalist smiled evilly at Dr. Willowfield, "You really don't believe that you simply fell through a wall, did you Doctor? You're like me Henry, not them. Don't worry, we're on the same side, there is no need to fear me... Brother."

Henry continued to stare at the numbers, his selective hearing kicking in. "Aren't the numbers changing just fascinating?" He then turned and smiled at Threshold, subconsciously not accepting what he had just said. "You said something was a bother?" He asked as they reached the floor with Ivana's office on it.

"I..." Nathalia paused, slowly thinking it through. She was going to need help. There was nothing else to do.

"Thank you ma'am." What else could she say? IO was her only way to find anything out right now.

"I vill take some blood from you for ze testing, alright?" Helga spoke quietly to the young goth redhead. Moving toward Nat's right, Helga picked up a syringe with several small tubes to place within the larger syringe cylinder to collect blood samples. Pausing a moment, the German drill sergeant turned her head to address the other Black Talon in the infirmary that didn't try to draw her weapon, "Alleyne, I want you to go see to it zat Miss Carter's and Miss Goldman's things to ze 'G' wing. Have them set up in ze same room."

The black woman approached Helga with a curt nod, "Yes Ma'am, I'll see to it."

"Carry on," Helga replied, and the Black Talon the German address exited the Infirmary with purpose.

Helga then proceeded to draw some blood into four tubes in succession.

Rose summers looked to Ivana something coming to mind needed to be said.

"Ivana. Our co-worker who was destroyed by Kai's friend Arell left behind some technology which may help in solidifying complete control of the children. Brainwashing, training are good but technological control makes sure that we never lose control."

Jack glared away and then back to Ivana. He added to his wife's comment about Kane's work. While they were at destroying the lives of these kids why not go all the way. There was definitely more that could be done to get them the army they needed to stop these heroes unopposed and outmatching their strength. This is a new world, and if they could get the upper hand before the world really takes off they could rule this world under an iron fist. Money, research, power, and technology at their fingertips upon request.

"It's too bad we lost Kane he was a great worker. His work shouldn't go to waste. We can also use his research to genetically modify the failures if they survive the Gen Factor. They wouldn't have super powers like laser beams or super strength but their senses, agility will be enhanced. They could have body modifications as well."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roxy leaned forward after the machines had stopped. Her body ached and all she wanted was the pain to go away.
"s--stay away- from me... "
She spoke weakly trying to keep her head up. All she could tell was that shadows had approached her and she could only assume they were workers of the place.
Ivana pivoted her chair to face Threshold and Willowfield as they entered, "Matthew, Henry, glad you could make it. Please sit down. As the pair of men took their seats, Ivana turned a smile at Dr. Jack Summers, "And.... that sounds like a wonderful suggestion, Jack. How reliable can we control our gen actives?"
Jimmy Zorn raised an eyebrow at Dr. Summers proposal, "Your idea sounds good, Dr. Summers; however, I can see a couple of possible problems. While nothing we come up with is totally foolproof, remotely controlling the gen actives could end up our undoing if we are not careful.
"For example, we just had problems with a hacker that one of my operatives is going after as we speak. Anyway, I see two problems. One, our gen actives could be tracked by an enemy hacker -- using that information to plan against us directly. Two, what would keep those same hackers from taking direct control of our gen actives and using them against us?"
"Now while hacker may have slowed us down, I'm having the Stonewall Protocols reloaded after dumping everything that the hacker did. Once we treat these gen actives with Stonewall, there will be nothing to hack or track from our enemies point of view.
The Stonewall operatives were behaviorally modified to carry out any mission we sent them on without question -- they simply carried out their assignments. The gen actives will be under our control and loyalty will not be an issue, Director."
Ivana lightly tapped her index finger on the bridge of her nose, glancing over at the doctor couple, "I know you two looked at the Stonewall Protocols while looking over other tech, what risks do you see as far as hacking. Also, for the subjects who survive the process yet do not yield gen active abilities, how soon can you proceed and exactly what processes are you thinking about using on them?"
........................
The grey robots approached and grabbed both Roxy and Caitlin from their respective chairs. (unless you can think of something to try to stop them..... smile ) Without saying anything, each girl had a pair of robots carry them from COMCOR toward the reinforced holding cells designed to hold mutants.
At the moment, the techs in COMCOR weren't sure which manifested that power they witnessed.
Jack Smiled at Jimmy already an answer to the problem he has brought up.
"Simple, we allow the technology to control itself and have a shut down if hacked. If they are controlled by someone else they might as well be dead right? You think I would suggest such a thing if such problems weren't addressed. Sure we can mind brain wash them but what is to say that is merely enough. We have controlled our other two daughters who didn't make it to this world in both ways and they never betrayed us or were able to be saved by their older sister. Someone who knows our technology more than anyone."
Rose touched her husbands shoulder and gave him a look of "Stop talking." And then turned her attention to Ivana.
"My husband's right but as far as the altering. We can enhance their abilities with the genetic abilities of animals and other meta-humans existing today so long as we can obtain that DNA and obtain other meta-humans with their own genes that are non-Gen13 active meta's."
Henry listened quietly, watching the others as they spoke. He preferred not to use any means that would end with them killing the kids them selves. Which meant that he liked Jimmy's plan a bit better. Although the idea of DNA manipulation on the survivors of the Gen Experiment that failed. This eliminated the need to get rid of them if they didn't develop powers.
He then looked at Ivana and blinked. He wasn't opening his mouth but he had that hard thinking look on his face.
User ImageUser Image"I still believe that behavior modification is the way to go with the gen actives, Director. Stonewall is a proven technology. However, the decision is still yours," Zorn calmly stated before leaning forward and turning his attention toward both doctors, "With that being said, I believe the subjects that are not gen active and survive the process should be indoctrinated with the Stonewall Protocols and Dr. Rocknell's serums. We should have excellent results; it should produce a cadre of capable agents for us to be able to be deployed anywhere in the world."
Threshold kept quiet, occasionally glancing in Dr. Willowfield's direction keeping a read on the man's emotions. Matthew had his own ideas about how best to use the gen actives, but he was considering his own ambitions rather than loyalty to I.O. The blonde agent had seen first hand what I.O. was capable of -- with the deaths of his parents at their hands.
Even though that memory fueled his hatred of 'normal' people, Matthew kept it well hidden... not even the psyche exams revealed any possible treachery on Threshold's part.
He hid it too well.
Being keenly aware of Dr. Willowfield's manifestation, Threshold wanted him to come to the same conclusion that he himself came to: for mutantkind's own protection, they had to take control!
Mentally, Threshold could sense Willowfield's unease and smiled inwardly, I'll let these ideas sink in, then I'll have another little chat with Dr. Willowfield.
Threshold himself pivoted his chair in Dr. Willowfield's direction, "Do you have anything to add, Dr. Willowfield?"
The grey robots carried Caitlin Fairchild and Roxanne Spaulding into a fortified metallic cell with a pair of padded cots, setting the girls down, and exiting the cell with the metallic swiftly slamming shut with a audible hiss....
Rose looked to Jack and then back to Zorn.
"I think, that programming without absolute control is a fool plan Zorn... no offense. Honestly what keeps them from being reprogrammed or being reminded who's in control here. I for one wish to not lose my life because we gave these children an inch of freedom that they may use to disobey. I would recapture and bring back all previous subjects from your Stonewall experiment to be tested to see exactly how sound they are at being controlled in the field."
Despite her deep and growing dislike of this man's caring of the kids she kept her cool. She spoke coldy and to the point about what she felt, as calmly as she could. "Sure we've tried such tactics as Zorn's on our daughter but her friends snapped her out of it... which means that it is no full proof way to gain control." She thought to herself. Of course she wouldn't completely bash him in front of Ivana. What she wanted most was to try and get Ivana to take both their plans.
The questions, the chance that was there was open and he would have to take the risk. He wasn't actually sure of where he got his most recent powers, but he indeed were grateful for them. He could hear the other person entering the vent, but he knew they were far away and would probably take awhile without the equipment he had. Pushing back on the top of the vent, silent as a mouse, he sprung out of the vent like a cannonball aimed at the one talon left in the room. The radar like images in mind came easily as would he knocked the wind out of the talon by ramming his entire body into him. Like a whip, the t-wire would lash out and grip the gun at Helga's side, stopping her from using it even if she managed to get Nat's blood out of her hand. "Why did you bring me here!" John growled. The blind boy may have been known as a disable, but he was definitely not uncapable. He could hear a great deal, including the activity in the vent and outside it.
((Figured since Crystal and Arell fought 'em . . .))
Meanwhile, outside the IO base, there were a bunch of thugs from the organization, running back towards the fortress like a pack of hounds with their tails between their legs. Some wounded, some pissed themselves, a few with what looked like cigarette burns on them.
"LET US IN!!!! LET US IN!!!" screamed the one who got there first, getting to the door and banging on it as hard as he could. They were scared of a particular crazed gunman. A few in hushed voices looked behind them in terror, dreading that the psychopathic, malevolent spirit of tobacco smoke, the foul stench of whiskey and gun smoke had somehow followed them back.
"C'mon, Lou! Open the door, I don't wanna die!!!" another pleaded.
"He ain't human, I tell ya, for the love of God, OPEN THE DOOR!!!!" a third pleaded. It was almost as if the team of thugs had come across the Devil himself.
