It looks like a carnival has arrived, and set itself up in a fairgrounds just outside of town! There are rides, game booths, food vendors, and even a pony ride and petting zoo for the little kids!

Everything seems to be sorted out to a food area, game area and ride area, with tickets being sold at the entrance to the ride area, and at the far end.

Beware the old carnie guy who runs the Bumper Cars... he seems to be a bit feisty! eek But the lady who runs the Lucky Ducky game seems nice.

"You want a funnel cake, Oli?" asked Arukoru as he pulled his wallet from his back pocket. The red head nodded his head as he peered around the carnival with green eyes. Aru held up his hand to signal to the man behind the booth, holding up two fingers.

After an exchange of cash and pastry filled paper wrappings, Aru handed one of the treats to his younger friend and began to peer around the carnival.
'When did you say the tournament starts?' signed Oliver before he took a bite of his own treat. Aru glanced at his watch while he chewed the deep fried dough.
"Not for another three hours." he answered. Oliver let out a little mute sigh. They where far to big to ride on these kind of rides anymore, and he was never much of a duck shooting fan. He debated trying to catch some fish to give to Ancelin.

-----------------------------------

On the other side of the carnival Onii was strutting around in a short skirt and heels. She was in prowl mode. She eyed the men that passed her by, getting a feel for their purity and physical well being. So far she wasn't finding anybody that would make a suitable victim to this months feed. Mostly teenagers with their girlfriends and sweet old men with their grandchildren.

The young succubus took a lick from her cotton candy before she let out a groan.
"I'm so hungry.." She muttered. She hadn't made a kill in over a month.

"One adult and a child plea- Ah be patient Jenna I need to pay." Alera was attempting to pay for their tickets but Jenna was tugging at ther hand trying run off into the sea of bright lights and music. "Eeee look Mom, rides, wow that one looks like it goes evne higher than I can fly on my broom.... and games, and..OH a petting zoo! I wanna go play oh and look at all the food.... I want some ice cream and a doughnut and..." Jenna continued the ramble on. The small black kitten perched on her hat stuggled to keep his ballance as she bounced aorund.

"Okay okay. Calm down." Alera exclaimed as she finally managed to pay the ticket vendor. "There is not need to rush we have all day. Now what do you want to do first?" Jenna excitedly pointed in the direction of the petting zoo and proceded to tug Alera off towards it.

Rime arrived at the carnival with what seemed like her entire household in tow, though it was really only the children, herself, and Selis as another guardian.

Selis was a raccoon anthro who wore almost as little as Avery, though he made up for it in exotic jewelry. The raccoon man's bright gaze watched the people around them, smiling a little as he noticed a few appreciative gazes directed his way. He was an attractive man, and he knew it.

Alida held Sybil's hand, holding the little girl back from running off to explore whatever caught her eye. The child's python tail was whipping back and forth excitedly, and her little feathered wings kept opening up whenever she saw something that caught her eye.

"Ali, Ali, look! Look at the animals!" Sybil said excitedly and pulled on the teen's hand to get her to look. But a moment later, she was pointing at a food vendor and begging for something to eat. Not long after that, she squealed with childish glee at the sounds coming from the games. Each time, she was smiled at and assured that they would get to it.

Avery was out in front, wearing the bare minimum of clothing as usual, and expertly dodged between other groups of people, getting a bit far ahead. He'd spotted the ferris wheel, and the idea of being up so high was, as usual, irresistible to the angel boy.

"Avery, stay closer, please!" Rime warned, and with a gusty, put upon sigh, the tween angel obeyed, though he rolled his eyes at the restriction. It wasn't like he couldn't take care of himself, after all.

"Yes, mom, if you insist," he said, and Rime raised an eyebrow. Ever since Deanna had entered the household, he seemed to be getting more of an attitude. Of course, that could be unfair to Deanna. Avery was getting older, after all.

Lagging behind the rest was the said teenage demon. She had a singularly unimpressed expression on her face, though the fact that she'd come along at all could be attributed to the possibility that she wasn't as jaded as she might appear. Or she could have been forced, it was hard to say. Her expression wasn't entirely clear on the matter, but combined with that, her appearance caused much the same result as when she played hooky from school in the mall.

They arrived at the ticket booth just after another mother daughter pair left, and Rime purchased several sheets of tickets and handed them out.

Deanna snorted at the offer and simply said, "Whatever! I am not going on these dorky kiddy rides. Later," and disappeared into the crowd, ignoring Rime's call to come back.

Selis went with Avery and his sheet of tickets with a cheery wave from both of them, leaving Alida, Sybil and Rime as a group.

"Well, then. Alida, did you want to explore on your own?" Rime offered, not wanting to keep the quiet teen from having the same freedom as Deanna.

Alida shook her head silently, and pointed to the food court.

'I could use some greasy carnie food,' she signed with a smile.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Sybil cheered, jumping up and down a few times, much to Alida and Rime's amusement.

The three groups split up, traveling to different parts of the carnival.

Deanna drifted towards one of the beer tents, hoping she could sneak inside somehow.

Alida, Rime, and Sybil went back to the food, since it was closest, and wandered about to see what sort of food there was.

Selis and Avery went directly to the rides, Avery champing at the bit to get on that ferris wheel. Along they way, he saw several other rides he knew he wanted to try.

"Awesome! Selis, that one looks like a spaceship! We're going on that, too, okay? And that one, with the spinning-- Wow. Wow. It's like a ferris wheel on crack," Avery breathed. He'd caught sight of the Zipper, and it beckoned to him. Selis hoped he wouldn't be disappointed if he wasn't tall enough.

"Yes, yes, we will attempt to ride them all. But, which one first?" he questioned, preening his tail slightly as he held it away from the dust underfoot.

(( long post is long. They'll all be separated after this. ^^; ))

Sirene Naiads

Romantic Senshi

PostPosted: Wed May 14, 2008 10:31 am

Two feline children stood just on the outside of the gates of the carnival. Behind them, their 'mother' approached, holding three tickets in hand.

Turning, the older, taller female neko smiled back at her mom before taking two of them and picking up her small brother. With a smile on her face, she giggled as her little brother looked around before walking towards the gate.

Sirene stood where she had been, watching her daughter Yume and her son Jiyuu. The two of them were closer than ever and really going to have a great day, or so Sirene prayed. She knew that under those smiles, things had happened and changed both her beloved children.

Jiyuu was staring off into the shadows of the world as Yume carried him on her hip. Within moments, the noise of the carnival had won him over and he was wiggling.

"Yume! Let me down!" He called out as his sister giggled and put him down. Still, instead of running off, as most boys his age did, he stayed close to his sister.

Yume ran a hand over her brother's head. Turning back, she spotted her mother walking towards them, tears in her eyes. It was something Sirene had been doing a great deal, why, her daughter didn't know.

"Come on mom!" Yuki called out as she handed the man Jiyuu and her tickets before going into the grounds.

Oliver prepared to walk off towards the tent where the card tournaments would be held, but stopped when he realized Aru wasn't following. He turned his head with a piece of funnel cake sticking out of his mouth, before he cocked his head to the side.
'See something tasty?' he asked with sign language, hands too greasy to use his dry erase board that was attached to his hip. Aru thought on that question for a moment.
"Sorta." He muttered with a blush on his face. He then cupped his hands to the side of his face, trying to call out above the racket of the crowd.
"Alida?!" he called out, causing Oliver to turn his head and look around. That girl was here? The one he never shut the hell up about even though he had only hung out with her like.. twice? He had to see this.

---------------------------

Onii was just about to square in and start seducing a man running the tilt-a-whirl, before she felt something rummage in her purse that she had secured over her shoulder. Ane, her cat, poked his head out and looked around. He sniffed the air once, then twice, before his eyes bugged out.
"MROW!" He screamed before he squirmed and kicked his way out of the bag and onto the ground. He then ran off across the carnival grounds.

"Ane!? Get back here!" The succubus cried out. Her stomach let out a loud growl and she sighed, looking from cat to carnie and back again. Finally, the young woman gave up and gave pursuit after her cat. Somehow running with amazing agility on her five inch heels as she pursued her feline companion.

Rime, Alida and Sybil had just been checking out the 'deep fried cheese curd and fresh squeezed lemonade' booth when Alida suddenly cocked her head and looked around. She could have sworn she'd heard...

She scanned again, and then spotted the owner of the voice she thought she'd heard, and raised her hand to wave, an excited smile brightening her face.

Sybil looked at her curiously, and then tried to see who she was waving at, but even after standing on her tiptoes and jumping a little, she couldn't see.

"Who you waving at, Ali?" she asked.

'Well... Arukoru is here,' Alida signed, blushing a little. She was glad Avery wasn't here right now, or he'd probably start yelling the kissing rhyme at the top of his lungs. Little brothers were a pain.

Sybil paused for a moment, still figuring out some of the sign language, but suddenly beamed.

"Mo~m! It's that boy she always talks about!" Sybil exclaimed, causing Alida to wonder if maybe she wasn't so lucky after all.

Rime chuckled, and said, "Oh, is it? Call him over, Alida, we'll treat him to something," then finished paying the man behind the counter and handed Sybil a little paper dish of cheese curds before picking up two lemonades.

Alida bit her lip, but nodded, and raised her hands to make a 'come here' gesture. She noticed another boy with him, but didn't recognize him. It certainly wasn't Kaz.

-------

Avery bounced off the ride called the sizzler, followed a bit more slowly by Selis, who was looking a little woozy but hiding it well.

"That was so cool! C'mon, let's go try another ride!" Avery said, and beckoned Selis to hurry up.

"Ah... perhaps I will simply watch the next one," the raccoon man replied, laughing weakly.

"Aw, chicken! C'mon! You gotta ride with me. Otherwise how will you know how cool they are?" Avery wheedled a bit, bouncing a little in his sandaled feet.

"You will tell me, of course," Selis replied matter-of-factly, causing the green-haired boy to laugh heartily.

Oliver spotted the girl wave back to Aru and gave the slightly taller male a leer that screamed 'Ew. Cooties.'
Young Oli crammed the edge of his funnel cake into his mouth and lifted his hands to Aru to sign that he was going to go wait in the card tent, but before he could even get the 'going' done Aru had grabbed the boys wrist and had begun dragging him over in the direction of Alida and the others.

"Hey Alida. Fancy seeing you here." Aru said when he got within 'indoor voice' speaking level distance, dragging Oliver the entire way. The red head grabbed his funnel cake and began chewing, before he waved a quick hello to the girl and her family. He then looked up at the booth behind them, cocking his head.
"Mmmm.. Deep fried cheese curd." he thought to himself.

'I didn't think I'd see anyone I knew,' Alida signed back, quite happy to see Aru. She felt Sybil take hold of her shirt, and she looked down to start introductions.

'This is my sister Sybil, and my mom, Rime. My brother Avery and Selis are off somewhere, as is Deanna,' she signed, but was then interrupted by a bouncing Sybil.

"You don't look at all like I pictured you," Sybil stated, and was stopped from saying anything more by a hand placed gently over her mouth by a blushing Alida. But her shining eyes showed how much fun she was having at her sisters discomfiture.

Rime smiled and shook her head, saying, "It's nice to meet you and your friend, Aru. Can I get you anything? Some cheese curds? Or there's a gyro vendor further down if you're hungrier than that," she added, used to feeding groups of kids.

-------

Selis, true to his intentions, sent Avery on the next ride by himself, more than content to simply stand outside the ride and watch the young angel enjoy himself.

Avery, meanwhile, was doing just that, after it was mentioned that if he went alone, he could go on twice as many rides with the same number of tickets. That had been the deciding factor to make him stop wheedling with Selis.

Right now he was on the Octopus, which was still waiting for a few people to load up, so it would be a few minutes before he was done.

Aru's pale skin flushed a tad at what Sybil had said. That meant that Alida had talked about him at home? He hoped to the almighty Captain Morgan that it was good mention and not bad. Arukoru ran a hand threw his tri-colored hair and chuckled a little, before he looked to Oliver who was giving him a look.

"Ah. This is my house mate Oliver. He's mute, much like Alida." He said, peeking Oliver's interest. He was assuming the girl was signing to mock him, not actually mute as well. He relaxed a little and looked up the booth behind the small troupe, before shaking his head.
'No thank you. We have plenty of money from our guardian.' Oliver signed back, before he eyed Alida once over.

Aru glanced at Oliver and his face tensed when he saw the red head's eyes scan his friends body, before he gave the back of his shin a light kick.
"Me and Oliver where just waiting for the cart tournaments to start, so we figured we'd grab a bite to eat. Alida, do you like any card games?"

Rime tilted her head, and asked, "Are you sure? It's no trouble."

"They're yummy!" Sybil exclaimed, popping one in her mouth in demonstration. "You want a cheese curd... you want a cheese curd!" she intoned, swaying the dish back and forth, as though she were hypnotizing him.

"Sybil, really," Rime warned, a slight shake of her head. She wouldn't have people thinking her children were mannerless.

Alida, meanwhile, was answering Aru's question.

'Card games? Well, I know Solitaire and Hearts, but I think you probably don't mean like those. Poker? Or one of those collectible card games?' she signed.
PostPosted: Thu May 29, 2008 5:09 pm

Oliver shook his head again as he finished the last bite of his funnel cake. He then balled up the wrapper and tossed it into the nearest garbage can as if it where a basket ball hoop. He smacked his hands together as if to clean them, and then signed a simple 'No thank you.'

"Like the collectible games. Me and Oliver are entering into the Magi Nation and World of Warcraft tournaments." he explained to Alida. The young man then reached into the man-purse-emo-bag he was carrying off his left shoulder and pulled out a deck of cards that where held in a clear case, as if to show her the proof of his eternal dorkdom.

Rime nodded amiably at Oliver's response, and said, "Alright, then," before turning to Sybil and making sure she was holding the dish so that it wouldn't spill. Sybil herself made a pouting face, but wasn't really unhappy. It just meant more for her, that's all.

Alida peered at the cards, and smiled.

'I've heard of those! I don't think I'd want to play them, but they're interesting to watch,' she signed, and briefly wondered if spectators were allowed.

Sybil, meanwhile, had started tugging at Rime's hand and quietly begging to go to the petting zoo they'd passed earlier. Rime shushed her and looked at Alida and the two boys consideringly.

"Alida, Sybil would like to see the animals. You can stay with your friends, if you like. And if it's alright with them, of course," she amended.

Alida bit her lip, and looked over at Aru and Oliver, hoping they'd let her tag along. She didn't mind walking with her mom and sister, but there was promise of so much more fun with someone her own age.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:56 am

Before Oliver could even comment, not that he was about to object, Aru piped up the second that Rime suggested Alida come with them.
"That's perfectly fine! We'd love to have you tag along. It'd be a great way for you to see what the game is about. Right Oliver?" the now excited male said as he turned his head to his shorter friend. Oliver, who's mouth was agape, shut itself and he shrugged.

'Fine with me.' he signed, and then began peering about. He imagined he'd like to get something else to eat before they went to the tent. Question was.. what?

"It's settled then. You can come with us, Alida." Aru smiled, not paying much heed to Oliver's quest for artery-clogging nourishment.

Alida claimed one of the lemonades before her mom and sister went off in the opposite direction, as well as a few of the cheese curds.

'I really would like something more than this, first, if that's okay?' she asked, the drink cup trapped between her waist and arm as she signed. One of the nearby stalls caught her eye: battered, deep-fried veggies. She made a face and decided not right now. However, she had smelled french fries... a burger would be very nice.

She looked around for the booth, and felt inside her purse, pushing aside several pens and a small notepad, looking for the money she'd stuffed inside earlier. She found it, but left it alone for now, instead pointing at the stall.

'I can eat a cheeseburger on the way,' she suggested, not wanting to be an imposition or make them late for anything.
