heh. happens to all of us. I remember that just a few months ago I was having a particular wave of sexual attraction to black girls. like, every time I saw a good-looking black chick I just got so enticed. it was a little out of control, like when I'm in my "frisky season" so to speak, but triggered by seeing attractive black girls specifically.

I'm just putting this out there- I'm not a girl.

I've never understood that realy, myself... gender has always been so transient to me. but then again, I'm personally genderqueer.

I know that there are things about myself that I take as identifying traits. in that way I try to sympathize with gender-identity issues.

I don't like people making assumptions about my sex and gender because I'm 3rd gendered- so that kind of assumption can be really triggering.

huh. o.o that makes some sense, I guess. I'd rather see myself as both or neither, though socially I don't mind being given a gender as long as they don't shove their ideas of gender roles down my throat. I know that most folks don't understand 3rd-gender.

I can't really think of a reason someone would assign someone else a gender except to do that. cat_sweatdrop

some just do it because it's what they understand. "you look like a boy, so you must be male." it's when they base it on behavior instead that I get defensive.

@Blackrose: xd goofball.

I'm pretty sure that's the other way around- "you look male, so you must be a boy". cat_sweatdrop

At least when they base it on behavior, they're filtering it through gender instead of reducing me to my junk.

this sounds like the same kinda TG talk that always gets me confused, too. o.o I'm having difficulty relating now...

when it's based on behavior, I find that people usually have gender-role assigned genders, as opposed to actual biology. and the worste part is, they think that it IS biological disposition. confused that's what bothers me about that. but judging based on looks is alright with me because I know they simply aren't use dto or don't understand someone not being one of two assigned genders.

Gender is part ingrained psychology developed over generations and passed on through nurture- sex is determined by hormones and genetics. I don't have any choice at all that I was born with bits that don't match who I am- I do have a choice on how I present my gender identity because I can embrace, blend or reject what my sex say about my role.

I'm more than what is in my pants- when people make assumptions based on what they think is below my waste they're objectifying me. When people observe my choices and gender expression- even if it doesn't match my identity, they're relating to me as a person who acts in the world instead of a piece of meat.
