Thoughts: Deals with Devils never work Out, Judging from past experience of course.

Jacen looked over to Narcissa, then to Cyclops, then to the Master of Magnetism himself as he floated down to still slightly above their level. His opened sentence almost made Jacen cough out a laugh, but he held his tongue. As if they would make such a horribly deadly mistake.

Magneto’s ultimatum didn’t seem to difficult to accept, though by now he had finally realized that he was one of the few Omegas that actually liked humans. Though his mind temporarily wandered to a quote of the mainlanders’ president about not negotiating with terrorists, Jacen continued to pay attention to is surroundings, waiting for the senior X-man to respond.

The OctOmega wasn’t phased by Erik’s ‘Join Me’ speech in the slightest. Ever since being poisoned on Muir Island, he tends to be a little skeptic about offers such as those. Go figure right?

He could split the tension with a spoon as Pietro and Wanda were loaded up onto their father’s stretcher. Evidently the good Senator was trying to split it with idiocy as Magneto flew away, and Jacen actually had to make conscious effort to restrain his frustration. 'It’s more infuriating to have Kelly yelling at us than to have Magneto trying to kill us.’ he thought, before his face went placid again. He sighed, saddened that a man could be so possessed by hatred as to blind him of all else.

Magneto’s last haunting taunt hung in the air as the X-men formed up. Jacen mentally winced as Orchid threatened to kill the Senator. “That seems a bit self-defeating Covet.”

Isabella’s emerald eyes remained focused on Christian as he shot up in bed. The Colombian songstress had sat in the room infinitely still, only the steady shifting of her body while she breathed giving way to the fact that she was indeed there. Flesh and bone. She straightened in the chair quietly as he lay back, knowing that he must have aggravated his injuries… It was on her lips to call for one of the nurses…But there were so many that had needed medical attention…

She wouldn’t cause panic, where it wasn’t needed.

She let the dampening bubble around her form fall away as she released the gold necklace that she frequently wore—Finding frustration with having her right arm in a sling…It made it difficult to do things, painful, when she tried to use it despite the fact that she shouldn’t… Still seated in the hard backed chair, barefoot, she didn’t speak until spoken to…Waiting to see if Sidetrack would fall back to sleep.

“Hola…”, she responded softly when it was clear he wouldn’t, her tone holding just a faint lilt to it that proclaimed she had some kind of hispanic origin. She wasn’t aware that he was feeding off of the latent psionic energy she exuded when actively using her powers. It wasn’t much…So little that she’d never known anything about it for years.

She’d always just thought that it was simply the way her powers worked… That she could direct her sonic screams, or shield herself and others from them by her own will. Which was to an extent true, but not completely. She had a little help. “I think you already got the surplus…Otherwise, I don't think we'd be having this conversation.”

Her lips didn’t twitch, where she usually would have found amusement, or at least smiled at his comment. Instead her head turned away… Eyes averting from his direction. He was in this position, because she’d been so…So stupid. She hadn’t realized that she was falling right into Mystique’s trap until the red haired, blue skinned mutant revealed herself. Christian was in this position because of her. Her Alpha’s were in shambles, because she hadn’t seen the bigger picture. She’d thought that she was just going to retreieve Aurelie and Leonardo… She’d never thought that a quick jaunt to the mall would have turned into this.

The Alpha’s it seemed… Hadn’t lost—Seeing that she hadn’t heard anyone on their side had died. But they definitely hadn’t won… She’d heard snippets of things from those in the lower levels.

The civilian body count was high.

“Don’t worry about me… You were in worse shape than I was, when all was said and done.”, she trailed off, her eyes flickering back towards him in the dim lighting. She could hear everything that was being said in the room three doors down and it made her cringe…Radiation poisoning?

Her hearing was that acute that yes... Isabella could hear Christian loud and clear. If she focused, she could hear a mouse sneeze. “Thank you, for saving me from Mystique.”

That was another thing that bothered her…Someone was always trying to save her from Mystique, it seemed. Everytime they crossed paths…The shape shifter seemed to loathe her. Though she could understand from their last encounter last Christmas that involved Mr. Sinister and her father… Mystique had been on the receiving end of some very angry mutants from the Academy, when she’d orchestrated the kidnapping of herself and her two half siblings. But it was really getting old.

What if she just kept being put in these situations because she wasn’t supposed to escape?

What if the bullet that had lodged itself in her shoulder, was really meant for her head, and she was simply delaying the inevitable?

Isabella hadn’t expected him to ask what was eating at her... Her lovely features, though strained, and far paler than they should usually be, faded into an expression of resignation. Her eyes closed as her head tilted back for a moment, leaning against the wall in silence. When she looked back in the wounded Omega’s direction, her eyes were softer… But no less guarded. She trusted others, less easily than she used to…Especially because Christian flew under the banner of the Red Queen. Not that it was his fault… But the years had taught her to be wary of anyone that followed Narcissa.

Christian’s leader was a brutal, demanding woman. An insane, ticking time bomb with a heart made of stone. Isabella knew that better than most.

But he had saved her… And probably others on her team.

He stood tall where she’d managed to fail them miserably.

She could tell him…Part, of the truth, perhaps.

“An easier question would be…What isn’t eating at me?”, her response came slow at first, as if she really shouldn’t be speaking what was on her mind. The sound of nurses and aides walking by every now and again broke the stillness of the room… But overall, there was a staunch silence that waved heavily. She winced, visibly, watching the hindered way he moved…Feeling directly responsible.

Slipping from the chair with enough grace that would have made any ballerina turn green with envy—She approached his bedside, remaining still for a moment. Her thoughts spun faster than she could put them to words…So for a moment, her soft hand simply gently brushed his hair back from his forehead. It was a usual motherly gesture for the songstress…Once again, drawing a definitive line between herself and his leader. “I’m bothered by so much…That I don’t even know where to begin. My entire team could have been wiped out today… And for what? Some political mutant power struggle that I don’t even know if I truly understand…?”

“I’m so sorry, for things that I have no control over. I feel like we’re fighting a losing battle…Taking unnecessary risks...And that the necessary one's will slowly destroy us all..”

Her eyes glittered in the light they reflected tears that she refused to shed. She’d been holding so much in for so long…She was starting to reach her breaking point.

“But…That could be the pain killers talking.”, she smiled softly, cutting off any response he had, hiding the distraught expression as best she could…”You need your rest.”

The songstress laced her next words with power… Deliberately. It wasn’t something she usually did. She hated to use her powers on other students in the Academy…They were too invasive, too cruel… She thought that perhaps, that made her cruel. But since she was the reason Christian was in this bed…The least she could do, was grant him respite while he healed. Unlike the guard at the mall, who she’d hit with her power like a ton of bricks…She eased him into it. “…Sleep.”

“Sleep in peace until the sun comes…”, she tapped into more and more of the hypnotic suggestion that was available to her. Her tones seemed deeper, and yet softer…Touched by something that wasn’t human. Some were harder to influence… But the weaker they were, the more injured, the easier it would be…

Isabella hummed quietly, willing the boy on the bed to doze off… She wished him serene dreams—Threading the idea into her lullaby that nothing could harm him while within the school walls.

Leaving the room not long later, she at least hoped someone would spared the nightmares she was likely heading towards.

You tell me I'm frozen-- But what can I do?
Can't tell the reasons-- I did it for you...
When lies turn into truth... I sacrificed for you
You say that I'm frozen-- But what can I do?
It tears me apart that you will never know...

She slowly killed the light in her hand that she had aimed at Quicksilver, watching Dart taze the hell out of him. Covet had been on the ground before she could move, and though she moved quickly to help her up…The girl was already back on her feet, moving back towards the group. It was good that she hadn’t touched her in her haste…Magneto had nerves on edge, and her skin burned like a bonfire. How could she have been so careless?

Words died on her lips, to ask if she was all right…Clearly, she wasn’t, and asking stupid questions that she already knew the answers to wouldn’t help her disposition.

Her eyes flickered over the arriving Omega’s that had been with Knoxx, careful to take in their state… Some of them looked a little roughed up, but none the worse for wear. That was a relief. When Roland and Felix called that the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were secure, she nodded her head with some sensation of relief. The probability manipulator set her on edge…Likely because she wasn’t used to getting her attacks getting batted away like a paper football. It was a blow to not only her ego, that was exceedingly large, but something that picked at the concrete faith she had in herself.

That wasn’t a good sign, and a little more than disturbing to her.

As she’d suspected, Paladin and Kraken seemed to make a good combination. Both were physical fighters… Where as she was someone who usually preferred to blast things from far away. Why? Because if, on the off chance that she missed, she wouldn’t put a hole through one of her ducklings. Hearing Kerrigan comment about their bargaining chips, she cast the red head a cocky smirk. “Aren’t they just the cutest little assets when they’re all unconscious?”

‘And possibly brain damaged.’, she thought venomously… Sincerely hoping, that the red clad Maximoff-brat was in a perma-coma. The fact that she was still breathing told her that she wasn’t dead… And wasn’t that a pity.

Hearing Measure call her by a familiar nickname, her hell fire white eyes shot towards him. They were intense, furious and burning without meaning to be …But the sun goddess was ever conscious about their audience in the form of the senators. She wanted the man to remember as little about her facial features as possible, considering she was likely going to be getting awfully close melting them out of the cage. So she remained glowing, bright—Her skin shimmering with light that threaded and licked underneath her skin.

It was as good a disguise as any, considering how much time her family spent time in the lime light. Her identity was not publicly known. Aren wanted to know what the plan was… “We’re…Calling an end to this. His brats, for the Senator. They’re too powerful for him to potentially lose. And then we get the hell out of here.”

That wasn’t exactly true. But Magneto always had a hidden agenda… If he’d wanted them dead, the X-Men, or the Senator and his friends… He would have killed them by now. They were important to the madman for reasons she didn’t understand.

Narcissa hated being in the dark. Bloody hell.

The self proclaimed Sun Goddess watched the deal go down with a cold expression. Even when the men in the cage cried out when Magneto dropped them, she remained silent, stoic. Just because she advocated to save them, to prevent the death of a United States Senator and government officials by mutant hands…Didn’t mean that she felt sorry for them. Magneto wasn’t interested in staying in the shadows, or remaining anonymous. Narcissa was.

She wanted to be the hunter, not the hunted.

She didn’t say anything as Magneto ranted—Strange, for the sun goddess, not to mouth off when she heard a line of bull s**t…But she’d already been a target for Magneto once before. Not one he wanted to kill…One he wanted to recruit. Which, in her opinion, was worse than kicking the bucket. Narcissa hated to be controlled… She’d been a weapon once. A fearsome, disgusting creature… She had no want to repeat the episode.

She didn’t want to draw anymore attention to herself than absolutely necessary… Which didn’t seem to matter, because he still smirked in her direction. After the trade was made… She slowly started to unwind when the Master of Magnetism disappeared from sight… Though none would know, except for the fact that her fists unclenched. Hearing Dart state that it went well, she snorted with disdain.

“Yes, it went well. We aren’t dead... A lot of others weren't so fortunate. We could easily be them...Mutant or Human...Magneto outclasses all of us. And he knows it.”

The sun goddess ignored the screaming Senator for the most part. In her eyes, he was beneath her in so many ways…She was tempted to leave them in the cage for the police to find. But…Scooter had said to set them free. So she would. But she worried about her own first. The humans, could wait, and rot for all she cared.

KrakenCarry Covet back to the rendezvous point. Rave…Go follow along, in case he needs help… Head in the direction Storm went.”, Narcissa began, her tones clipped, pure ice falling from her lips. She spoke clearly, and firmly… As if there weren’t crumbled buildings around them…Cars on fire…Dead bodies. Or at least, severely wounded. Most likely dead… Who was she kidding? They were road kill. She didn't let anyone see that these things bothered her...Wouldn't. The Omega leader was untouchable.Covet—Don’t fight, or whine about it, or I’ll go out of my way to give you something to b***h about later. “

Paladin and Dart, go with them. When you get to our evac…”
, she used that word, evac, instead of saying X-Jet because she didn’t want to say anymore than she had to in front of the Senator. Even if he was too busy calling her a murdering psychopath to actually glean any information from them. Her eyes flickered to Covet, eyes finding familiarity in the way she held herself. “See what medical supplies we have. I know you have some decent field training Paladin… But see if there’s anything to bind her ribs with until we get back. The less we jar them the better. Also, make sure Cyclops doesn't let himself bleed out, like the moron he is.”

“Also, see if you can find Copycat. She should be somewhere around here… Last I checked she does have a healing ability.”

Dart, she sent because she feared he might undo all of their good deeds and kill the Senator—Who still hadn’t stopped running his mouth.

One-Eye was standing some distance away from them…Surveying the damage. Storm would likely bring the X-Jet down from the building they’d left it on, so that the wounded wouldn’t have to climb up the now unstable fire escapes… He would likely need…Prompted away from the carnage. He literally was, such a bleeding heart… He probably felt responsible for all this.

Bloody boy scout.

Knoxx and Measure…You’re with me.”, she informed her second in command and the native american, who between the two of them had enough skill and muscle to keep any of the humans she was about to set free from trying anything…Foolish. She wasn’t blind to their threats… But if she laid a hand on them, it wouldn’t be…Conductive to peace keeping. “Make sure that our gentlemen friends behave while I get them out.”

It had been a painstaking task to get the Senator and the rest of his Cabinet out of the metal cage… She burned through the metal bars enough that she could wrench them away in large chunks… Enough that she created a door way that Knoxx and Measure could help pry the humans out, one by one. They had to wait and let the metal cool. It got trickier when they discovered magneto had actually wrapped the metal around some of them…But they managed, with minor burns to the freed party.

Even though they were fine…The men they let go held nothing but a loathing disgust for the mutants that had set them free. They cursed them, threatened them, yelled louder when they found the deceased policemen. Apparently they were cop-killers. Narcissa eventually grew tired of their babbling and set off another solar flare… One that was much, much less violent than the one she’d used on the Scarlet Witch. It would blind them for ten minutes, at most, while they made their escape.

Boarding the jet with the rest of the Omega’s, she nodded at Scott when he gave her a questioning look. He was barely on his feet…No doubt he’d needed help getting to the X-Jet.

“Let’s go home…”, she murmured tiredly, having killed her powers once she blinded the Senator.

She had other Omega’s to check on. Her stomach dropped to her feet as the flew over the flaming area, sirens coming towards their direction…Followed by what looked like honest to god armored vehicles, and tanks.

Mutant-Human relations had just gotten a whole hellavalot worse.

And To Think… It’s All My Fault…

The first thing that Leonardo knew when he came to was the slow beeping that was emanating from the equipment wired to him. It was his heartbeat… at least he was still alive. His eyes slowly opened, and he realized he was in a sterile, white room, dimly lit. It seemed to take all of the energy of his being in order to scan the room around him; his eyes pained at the very movement.

A nurse walked in then, noticing how his eyes how his eyes were opening. “Oh, you’re awake. That’s good.”

“Where am I?” Leonardo asked the obvious, but still wanted to make sure.

“The Xavier Institute. Safe.” The last word seemed to have more credence and emphasis on it than any other word she had said since she stepped into the room. “You should be fine as long as you rest within the next few days.” She placed weight on the word rest in order to get her point across. The nurse was experienced enough to have had the occasional macho-man ‘I don’t need treatment’ type of patient. “You seemed to have some fractured ribs, others bruised, some burn marks from what seem to be tasers, a large gash across your chest, and other bruises all around your body. You’re lucky you didn’t have hemorrhaging anywhere.” She seemed to check a chart or something and looked back at the young man. “I know you can hardly speak so I’ll be brief. Elixir and Warren helped you out with a good dosage of their blood, but they needed to be used for other people who were in worse shape than you. You’ll be sore for a few days, and you should check in with us every day in order to make sure that your body is accepting the blood just fine. Good? Good.” She left without another word; she had other patients to get to.

That left Leo merely staring up at the ceiling for quite some time, trying to remember what happened at the mall. The memories started to come back to him in blurred images, louder sounds, and dank smells. Then it was like the floodgates opened, and everything spilled out onto his conscious mind. Aqua-boy. The fight. The tasers. Isabella. The riot. The weird half-naked man. And now he was here… but just what was here? He was hopefully back at the Xavier Institute… not at a normal hospital. A normal hospital would mean questions by the police, and he didn’t want to have to explain himself. Especially since it was all his fault.

Especially since it was all his fault.

All his fault.

Oh God… it was his fault. Everything. The mall riot… the people hurt… everything. All because he stood up to those douchebags who were harassing that poor kid. Well, that ‘poor kid’ ended up being a blue-skinned femme fatale, but according to her, he had helped speed up the process. Was he really a catalyst for the deaths of the people during the mall riot? All because he started a simple fight? All his fault. The phrase rang inside of his head over and over again. If he hadn’t have messed those guys up… if he hadn’t… then maybe things would be different.

His breathing started to become shallow… his heartbeat elevated. They were going to kick him out, weren’t they? He was practically responsible for what happened today… at least, a lot of it. Tears came to his eyes. Why couldn’t he have just left well enough alone? Let that kid be bullied? He had let it pass by his gaze so many times before… and he had just let it be. The one time he decided to make a stand… this happened. Since when did the good become punished for their actions?

The transmission from Emma Frost had come and gone while he was out. It was probably a good thing… he didn’t right much want to see anyone anyways. The look of disappointment on their faces… the anger of the teachers. He was already going through the mental checklist of what to pack.
