"What on earth are you talking about?" Tora asked bewildered. She embraced Iyasu and stroked her back. "Come, come now... calmn down," Tora cooed. "What's wrong?" she asked. "Is it about Kibakichi-san?" she wondered.

"It is related to him . . ." She answered. She inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly as went on, "Tora, do remember that story I told you, the second one that is true? What if I have not escaped it? What if . . . I am truly a fool in love that does not have it returned . . . then surely, I have not escaped it . . ." Her innards (sp?) growled out in passion, agreeing with her.

"Aw! No, no...," Tora cooed again. She placed her hands on Iyasu's cheak and spoke to her directly in the eyes. "Don't be like me," she said firmly. "Don't let this love get away. Surely if you don't say anything it is doomed." A smile crossed her lips and a giggle escaped her throat. "Men can be quite dense," she admitted. "If you don't tell him, he'll never know! I made that mistake and now I'm regreating it every moment," she said sadly. "However, the gods shone upon me and blessed me with a second chance... Hirose." Tora hugged Iyasu again and said, "Tell him. Just... say it outright... dont beat around the bush," she smiled.

She looked into Tora's eyes and batted her long lashes, "Tell him out right . . . but . . . I am not sure. What if does not feel the same way toward me?" Iyasu pleaded.

"I think he does," Tora smiled. "And if he gives the excuse 'I don't know how to love' then reply 'Everyone has a first. We can work this out, you and I'." Tora smiled and prayed Iyasu wouldn't give up like she herself did. "Come, lets go back to the cabin. You two need to talk," she smiled. They got back to the cabin and she took Hirose by the hand. "Come," she smiled. "We did come in at a bad time." She and Hirose went far from the cabin so they'd have total privacy.

Iyasu hugged Tora tightly before they left to the cottage. She was still young and it definately showed, thank the Gods for a friend like her. She bowed to the couple of men, "Forgive me for leaving you be. That air truly helped me." She walked to her seat and watched as Hirose and Tora left, hand and hand. A heavy sigh came past her lips as she looked to Kibakichi's face and swallowed hard. She placed her hands lightly on his and smiled meekly. Her make up was gone, showing the true Iyasu before him. Her eyes were a dim a glow of sweetness that still clinged to the softened emerald halo around each iris.
"Kibakichi-san . . . forgive me if I am out of place . . . but I must tell you this before my heart completely flies back . . . I have fallen in love with you . . . not in lust . . . in truth, love." She allowed her eyes to meet his own, "And if I may be so bold to ask that maybe . . . perhaps . . . you, Kibakichi-san, might feel the same?" Iyasu allowed herself to speak lovingly and softly, letting it all go. "If I have been too bold to suggest that to . . . please, forgive this humble geisha and let her go back to her okiya if she is wrong. Do not be upset with her, for she speaks from her heart . . . and I thought . . ." She paused, feeling the thumping of her heart beat in her ears. Slowly she looked down to her feet and stood up, striding away to the stove where the tea kettle sat.

"Of course," Hirose said as he walked with Tora before bowing to Iyasu and Kibakichi before leaving the cottage with Tora. After they walked a good ways away, he decided to break the silence. "Mind if I ask what happened or... is there something on your mind?"

Tora turned and smiled. "She was just about to tell Kibakichi her true feelings," she said. "Iyasu is a very deep person when it comes to love, like me. She believes everyone has a soulmate, and she believes Kibakichi is her's," Tora said with a sweet smile. "She was afraid of telling him in fear of his reaction. In fear of losing him forever." Tora blushed a little. "Again, like me," she said in a soft whisper. She shook her head and smiled, "Anyway, I told her to just come out and say it. If he didn't know, then she would for sure lose him..." Tora trailed off. Her gaze met Hirose's, "... forever."

My face reddens deeply as I lock eyes with her again, shock at her boldness, yet humbled by her honesty. I was so shocked I could barely speak. The brutal images of my past that I tried to lock away, burst forth, and tears welled up in my eyes and began streaming down my face. I raise one of my hands and put it on her cheek. Honestly I really don't know what love is. You're not the one who is cursed, milady. I am. Sit down and I shall tell you the story of my life.

"Kibakichi-san . . ." She felt the palm of his hand brush her cheek as she felt her heart skip a beat. She took a seat next to him and looked up to him, her cheeks still warm and rosey. "I never knew what love was . . . until I spoke to you. And it seems . . . that I am being too bold?" The young woman offered, feeling that she might have been too blunt and perhaps too out of line.

She smiled softly, seeing that he was having trouble with what to say. "Then, if I am not being too bold . . . I have one last thing to say thing . . . before I left my village my mother told me that if words fail me at a moment's notice fill in your lack of speech with an action . . . to do something is better to do nothing." Iyasu looked down.

She batted her eyes and looked up at him, "Leave? Why would I leave? Was I too bold in that last statement . . ? Forgive me . . . this is a first for me . . ." Iyasu whispered softly as she waited to listen to Kibakhichi's story. "I would like to hear your story, Kibakichi-san."
