Best- Manfloy: I was about to say Alvis, because he actually does something to FFVI epic-ness of a DUN DUN DUN, but in reality, Manfloy was behind it all.

Worst- Leidrick: Yes, Veld is also way down there (a generic dark mage for a final boss with a stone staff? What is this, FE5?), but at least Veld has the Dark Bishop title allowing him to do whatever he wants without punishment. Leidrick on the other hand was just some traitor general thing who was used by Veld who in turn was being used by Manfloy.

(PS: Trabant and Julius [no doubt for Julius, he IS my lover after all : P) win most attractive antagonists.)

Nominate: Best Camus Archetype: (Assuming Mel is still accepting)
Definition: A Camus Archetype is an enemy who is an enemy, but has good in them. Camus Archetypes can be found here.

Oh, so many to choose from, and so many different kinds of bad guys~ Apologies in advance for the text wall.

In my opinion, the best villains are not always the Big Bads; those who sit there and let their minions do the work are often not present for a good chunk of the story and are just plain lazy, if powerful. The minions who do all of the plotting and execution of the details of the Big Bad's plan to take over the world or whatever are the real masterminds, and as such generally better villains, only held back by their obedience and service to their master(s)/mistress(es). Of course, sometimes because they are just a minion and not The Big Bad, they are a better villain because they have a clear and set focus with clear results: figure out a way for the boss to achieve his or her goal, or you die. Yet when the Big Bad decides to take matters into their own hands, or do so from the beginning, it is usually brilliant and something awesome and bad is going to happen or already is and you just don't know it yet. Unless they suck, or waited too long and the hero's group is now too strong for the Big Bad to stop. So, with this mini text wall in mind, my votes are as follows:

(WARNING: Spoilers abound, especially of FE 10, and I'm too tired/lazy to white text everything. For Mel's sake, the names of the people I'm voting for are bolded.)

Best: I kept bouncing back and forth on this one, but I'm going to go with FE 10's Sephiran (a.k.a. Lehran). Despite being stripped of his position and titles and winding up in jail in one fell swoop, Sephiran masterminded a continental war involving every single country (thank you, Kurth and non-traditional Herons) using the Begnion senate's own corruption against them, and even making some of the senators believe they were the mastermind behind everything when really it was Sephiran. He manipulated everyone from the senate to Mad King Ashnard and achieved his goal of a continent-wide war and waking up the goddess so she could rain judgment down on the foolish humans. His only mistake was being too stubborn and unwilling to listen to Yune and company and give people (beorc, laguz, and branded) another chance. And somehow, for all he infuriates me, I don't really want to kill him. Manipulative genius indeed.

Honorable Mentions go to Nergal of FE 7 (whom I very seriously considered) and Zelgius/the Black Knight of FE 10. Nergal, for all he was mad with power, was very clever in working to achieve his goals, and very nearly succeeded; he just underestimated Eliwood & co. If only he could've remembered what was important instead of losing himself in his quest for power (and, you know, not set it up to where Eliwood would kill a certain half-dragon). I say Zelgius because the man was a beast of a soldier and Sephiran could not have done what he did without him. By the time Ike faces the Black Knight for the last time, I really did not want to kill Zelgius; I respected him too much, as a soldier and as a character.

Worst: How do you fail at being a villain unless you're a good guy or fail at doing evil deeds and are still hated because you suck? My vote goes to Medeus of FE 11. His only purpose was to look menacing and scary, and all he was was an easy kill for Marth. He barely showed up in the entire game except in one screen and the final chapter; Garnef was a bigger Big Bad than Medeus was, IMO. I almost forgot he wasn't just another generic/random enemy.

Honorable Mentions go to Oliver of FEs 9 and 10 because he actually does join you in the second game despite being a boss in the first game, and because EW; and Senators Valtome and Lekain of FE 10 (and really, ALL of the Begnion senators) for being complete morons, failing to realize they were just pawns, and generally failing at life (and failing to die sooner).

Umm.. I'm not sure if FE11 goes into details, or they cut it out for whatever reason (much like how the Fire Dragons are called the Salamander Tribe in FE1, but they're just called Fire Dragons in every other version) but Meduith desires mankind to be destroyed because the Gods favour them, as in in the era of the Mamkutes, the Gods forced them to seal their forms in stones, causing many Mamkutes to speculate that Narga hates all non-Narga tribe Mamkutes. So, naturally, Meduith raised a rebellion against Narga AND the humans, in which he was defeated by Anri. So, I do give him the merit of having a reason to want to destroy mankind.

So tl;dr- there IS a reason, albeit mentioned only briefly, however, I do agree on you of Garnef being a better villain seeing as he used Mediuth to gain power and take over Khadein.

Spoilers FE3B2 plot:

In Book 2, they go into the hierarchy of the Dragon Tribes to a certain extent:

High tier (basically, the God dragons who we should all bow our heads to)
Narga (which is people like Chiki [Tiki], Nagi, Gato [Gotoh] and Chainey [Xane])

Servant like Mamkutes who serve Narga Dragons: Salamander (From FE1)- All the Fire Mamkutes (Bantu), however, some of them do not wish to be dogs to Narga, thus choosing Mediuth's side.

KILL IT TIER: Dark/Earth Dragons- Naturally, Mediuth is down here, if I were a Dark/Earth Dragon, I would want to kill humanity and Narga too for being so racist. :/

PS: He is supposed to be weak in FE11, because they set it to be like that for FE12 when he comes back twice as strong in which it shows that all of Marth's work in FE11 was in vain, for just slaying Mediuth will do jack all without the Shield of Seals.

^Not tl;dr, but I am not fond of quote towers.

It's been a long while since I played FE 11, and I've never played anything prior to 7, so I had no idea Medeus was in any game besides 1 and 11, let alone comes back stronger. Even so, it's the FE 11 Medeus I was looking at when casting my vote.

. . . I really need to find some way and time to play the early FEs, especially four. XD;;

Apologies to Melethia if I nearly forgot about updating it.... sweatdrop

To everyone: Melethia wanted me to inform you that this week round will be the best and worst Healer. No pre-promotes unit who know how to use starves are allowed. However, units who uses sword and starves such as Elincia or from FE4 are allowed.

Best: Priscilla. She's a healer on a horse, makes it quicker for me to reach the unit that needs healing. In addition, my Priscilla is quite good at evading the enemies.

Worst: Moulder. To be honest, I just feel like he isn't quite useful to me, even after I got Natasha and L'Arachel. sweatdrop Can't remember what was it (it's been so long since I last played), but he made me not wanting to use him. sweatdrop

Best: Clarine. As awesome as Priscilla is at dodging, healing, and even fighting as a valkryie, Clarine just felt better as a whole.

Worst: Wrys (FE: Shadow Dragon). Yeah, umm, didn't use him. Lena was already more than suited to the task.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 1:50 pm

Best: I don't know about this...Elincia in FE10 was pretty broken and was able to evade lots of attacks while piercing her foes with the mighty horn on her unicorn-horsey thing. Yea..I'm going with her, even though Priscilla is definitely a very close second for me.

Worst: I'm going to go with Wrys on this one too. I barely used Moulder so he would be a close second, but Wrys just didn't cut it for me especially since I ended up just using Lena or defaulting to a couple sages for my healing. I just remembered how much I hated the healers in Shadow Dragon... >.<

Best: You know I found Elincia from FE9 to be an amazing healer for me. But there is the fact she came in late at the game, and by then I had a decent Mist. My vote goes to Nanna from FE4 because of the fact she has a decent utility in her time.

Worst: Gonna have to agree with people here and go with Wrys.

Best: Elincia in FE 10. Give her Amiti (though why would you ever take it away?) and a staff, and not only will she heal everyone back to full health but she'll nearly solo the map at the same time.

Worst: Wrys. I'm pretty sure I *accidentally* had him killed quite quickly. So very useless.

This one seems awfully one-sided for worst, at least. xp

Best: Serra from FE 7. She gets the advantage of being able to be trained in Lyn mode before going to the main story, and doesn't get that awful movement penalty in the desert chapter. Did I mention I love light magic after promotion? Those crits are sweet, baby. ;D

Worst: L'Arachel from FE 8. She comes in a fog-of-war chapter where you have to rush to save her, doesn't have very good HP, and comes at a pretty low level when I already had at least two staff users that I was leveling already, even without the tower of Valni. It takes too much time to train her when that staff exp could be going to someone else.

Best: Natasha was the one Healer I had that truly worked well for me. She quickly replace Moulder and I didn't really have a use for L'Arachel by the time I got her because Natasha was fully leveled and could easily be carried around with Seth in the party

Worst Moulder was probably the worst because his only real use was to heal the cuts and bruises until Natasha came into the picture. I have never used him after chapter six of Sacred Stones.

Just because you don't use someone and don't care to doesn't mean that person is bad. AT ALL. I'm in shock at all the anti-Moulder sentiments I'm seeing on here. He's considered one of the best characters in all of FE8. He's ******** top tier in damn near every tier list for the game. Natasha's pretty high up herself, but she's high tier at best.

Oh, but wait, he's not pretty or young. That must be it. Seriously, if I were to pull up the numbers and comparisons, Moulder would completely demolish Natasha in terms of utility and value as a unit. You not using him doesn't make Natasha better. At all.

I'll be posting my best/worst tomorrow.

Wah.... Don't be angry at me. DX I DID use Moulder, even used him in his promoted form. However, it's not about his appearance. As I said earlier, I couldn't remember what it was that made me not wanting to use him when I played FE8 the second time since it was so long ago. I blamed the RNG for making me feel that Moulder was terrible to me. DX

EDIT: BTW, when are we going to see the Sprite nominations?
