And Your Voice Was All I Heard...
Biting back numerous comments that arose at the king's statement, the spirit instead kept his eyes on Mizuki. He pursed his lips at her statement, bending slightly to whisper back. "It does not have to be fake. But I can try something else if this makes you unhappy." he responded, his voice low as to not be overheard. "I am sorry, but this is the only thing that came to mind that did not involve violence." the blue-haired man did not enjoy fighting, and while he wasn't exactly a pacifist he avoided violence where possible. He continued to speak in low, quiet tones so that Mizuki would be the only one to hear him. "I will not force you to marry me. I have nothing to offer you." he shrugged, hurt filtering into his careful expression. "But if you would prefer it, I can simply beat them all up?" he offered, hoping to put her anxieties to rest. He wasn't terribly worried about losing, as he could always abandon his physical body temporarily, just not for an extended period.

Every time Pyry opened his mouth It only made Mizuki even more confused. She didn't know if Pyry was serious or not anymore. "Pyry saying it like that makes you sound like your really proposing to me." She told him. It was almost better if he said she was pregnant with his child. At least she can say that she ended up having a miscarriage and wouldn't have to deal with her father demanding her marriage. "Beating them up wont help at all."

And Your Voice Was All I Heard...
Looking back with just as much confusion, the spirit tilted his head slightly to the side. "But then I would be the Alpha." he states, thinking this was how things worked. Taking a moment, he sighed faintly, closing his palm around the ring. What had she wanted him to do? He had thought this would work, but it seemed that Mizuki was more opposed to it than her father. Had he gone too far? Had he assumed too much? It appeared so, and he was beginning to regret his actions. "What would you like me to do?" he asked, feeling as though maybe he should have gone the baby route after all.

Mizuki knew they were taking too much time. She had to say yes sooner or later or her father would start to ask questions. "I want you to only purpose to me when you're ready to." She answered him with a smile. She then moved away from his ear. "Pyry, I don't understand why would you want to marry me. I'm nothing special." She commented so that Pyry had a chance to answer. He could come up with something crazy that would make her father happy.

She moved away from him, and it seemed their private conversation was over. He didn't know if she wanted him to say something crazy, or if he was supposed to be honest. "Because I love you, and what is happening now is not right." he told her, glancing at her father from the corner of his eyes. "But if your father is a reasonable man, he will not force you to marry anyone. Not even me." he glanced at the other man far less secretly this time, locking his eyes in a sort of challenge. The worst he could do was destroy the spirit's physical body. "But if what he said is true, that you have cared for yourself since such an early age, then he has no right to exert control over you now. I am not well versed in human nor mermaid culture, but I was not aware that fathers got to pick and choose when they got to be fathers." it was more of a direct challenge, which just might have been more crazy than the back-up baby scheme, but Pyry was pulling out all the stops. Mizuki would leave against her will over his dead body.

Triton looked at the man he wouldn't back down from this challenge. Even if his daughter had raised herself she still lived under his name. "My daughter chose to stay my daughter when she didn't drop the title of princess." The man pointed out. Mizuki had the choice to do so if she wanted to. "It is my duty as a princess to marry for the right type of gain." She answered Pyry. She never really stated if it was because of political or personal. She was caught between the man she loved and her father.

Unaffected by Mizuki's words, the spirit shook his head. "She is a grown woman, and she has the right to choose. If she wishes to go with you, then I have no right to stop her." he told the king, standing firm. "But if she wishes to stay, I will do all in my power to prevent you from forcing her." he broke eye contact with the king, as if the other man were simply someone to be dealt with that day; he would show the king respect when he earned it. He focused on Mizuki, and he smiled gently at her. "If that is what you think, then that is what you should do. I will not force you to do anything you do not wish to." it was another blow to the king, this one far more subtle, though he meant every word. "I do not care for these fancy titles, or this fancy duty. Where I am from, my people are not tied down by such silly things because we have only one life to live, and we spend it as we please." he stated, meaning no harm with his statements. Even if he didn't understand monarchies or the things that went with them, he understood that the decision was difficult for her. "You must do what is right for you. Not for me, and not for you father."

Mizuki wanted to hug Pyry, but the fin got in her way of leaning over and squeezing him. Triton was interested in this one. He had some guts in his body to speak up to him. At the same time the man wanted to order his guards to beat him till he takes his words back. "Father." Mizuki said finally speaking up. She was going to help Pyry a little. "One day Pyry and I will have a child and it'll be a boy. I don't know when or where I will be, but a fortune teller told me that I would have one." The princess said revealing that she had seen the orb the Ginny had told Pyry about. At this Triton looked at his daughter. In some ways his daughter had her own powers that were more powerful that his. What set them a part was the King had only the power of the mer-kingdom while Mizuki allied herself with creatures of different races. The man smiled. "Then Mizuki if you wish to stay I guess I can't fight you. You are indeed a better chess player than I am and you had your pawns in place before this day. You are loved princess outside of your birth place." The man said before snapping his figures. Several fishmen got out of the water and picked up the tailed man. "Looking forward to the wedding." He added giving a last glare to Pyry.

Pleased that the king was backing down, the spirit restrained any sort of gloating look. "It was a pleasure to see you again, sir." he states, watching the king go. Turning back to Mizuki, the spirit tilted his head slightly. "A fortune teller?" he asked, a little confused. "Do you mean the girl with the strange little balls?" he asked, remembering Ginny and her crystal balls. Brushing his bangs from his face, he tries to better look at his girlfriend, a small look of confusion on his face. A son? Chess? Pawns? Something was going on beneath the surface, something he didn't quite understand.

Mizuki was happy when her father left. Pyry was at least polite to her father. He then asked about the fortune teller. That person was kind of a secret because of who she really was. "Yes it's a girl and are you talking about crystal globes?" The woman asked wondering how much he knew. She had seen all the globes that came out of her future. The last one had an older her with a boy. She wasn't sure if it was Pyry's son. All she knew was the boy looked like her and it wasn't one of her brothers.

And Your Voice Was All I Heard...
Feeling something was off, the spirit watched his girlfriend carefully. "After you left at the hot springs, a strange girl came with glass balls. She asked if I wanted to see yours, but I did not want to intrude." he speaks slowly, as if considering his words carefully before speaking. "She knew my name, but I never got hers. She said you were with a boy. Is that the son you were talking about?" he asked, hoping to put some of these puzzle pieces together. He watched her reaction, and he was slightly confused when she asked her question. "But I... am not supposed to know any of this." he stated, still speaking slowly and carefully. "Am I?"

Mizuki wasn't sure how to answer any of what Pyry told her or asked. It was one of those things she probably shouldn't say, but she was in a corner and she had strong proof that Pyry was a good guy. "Her name is Ginny. She is one of the strongest fairies in the world." The woman answered about the girl. "Len and Claire Bonaventura has taken the girl under their wing to tutor her." She continue trying to give Pyry an idea about who this person was. "I really shouldn't be the one to tell you too much about her, but if it's any better I would tell you if I was the right person." The woman smiled at her boyfriend. She then turned her thoughts to what was in the fortune. "Yeah that's the boy that I was talking about. We I saw it I knew he wasn't one of my brothers and that he was my son." She answered him.

Nodding to accept her words, it seemed that his guess was right; he wasn't supposed to know about the girl. He kept quiet on what the girl had said about Len and Bonaventura, about bullying her, instead allowing the subject to drop. He would not tell anyone, not even Adney. Wait, no, that wasn't a good promise; the redhead had a habit of forcing him to spill his guts, but the redhead would never use this information for evil. Something else from their conversation returned to him, and he now knew why he had gone the marriage route; the girl had suggested it, and he had avoided the baby route because it would likely lead to marriage. "Your... son." he spoke slowly, digesting this information. "But you do not know if he is mine?"

Pyry seemed to be able to keep his word and she hadn't said too much about Ginny. It would be fine no matter what happened. She had every faith in him. At least she hoped so. "I don't. The imaging was a little fuzzy so I didn't get a good look at the child. From the features I could see only the eyes and nose could be yours. He was blond haired hand had a blue fin which could have come from my father." The woman answered. You couldn't tell much about a child when it came to parents until the aged a bit.
