Luz sighed and said, defeated, "I want to find out whether or not my best friend from home is gone for good." She didn't add any more, she hated to talk about it.

"Oh..." Seth said, a little guilty he made her bring that up. "Um, well, I'm guessing he's the guy you like." he added, hoping that would cheer her up. Probably not, but it was worth a shot.

Luz shook her head, "no, I don't like him but his family is friends with mine and I am too nice to be mean to him by dating someone else.. it's just too complicated to explain to someone who wasn't there." She said, looking down at her feet.

"Yeah, not easy on my part either. So, are you going home after summer?" Seth asked, trying to change the subject to avoid touching any painful topics for her.

"Hm, good reason. Well, not exactly good, but better then just 'no its fun here'" Seth explained, a little awkwardly. He knew that this would probably lead back to talking about her homelife, so he started thinking of something to change the subject to quickly.

Luz put her hands behind her back, "well once I've visited all the places at this camp I'll find my true favorite place, but for now I'll have to say that I like the beach."
