"Well there's Admir, but he's Aliya's husband so we should be meeting him once we meet her family... there's Elberon but I would stronger recommend meeting him before another engagement like a meal otherwise you'll be there for a while. Of course we'll have to sit down and have a chat with Ulani and Ulrich... There's Vanya, I hadn't spent so much time around her, she's one of the workers that help look after the fields and during this time of season it should be easy to find her, probably in the vegatable garden..."

She paused and thought about it some more.

"There's Sir Ryder of course..."

She tried to think of the ones she knew... really new, and while she had heard of Browne she didn't really know him, of course with his gift he tended to take the night shift.

"If Gwaethir is out hunting there is no way to track him at this point," Lin murmured, "He's one of the hunters and he's very difficult to find. Sir Boudwin takes shifts a fighter here and as I said Sir Leith looks after the horses. Then there's Timeaus and his family, and of course Celebor's family."

Which was in itself without knowing all the fighters an insanely long list.

Earendil chuckled. "That's quite the list. Any particular order we're going to see everyone in? Or is it just going to be whatever order we find people in?"

As they entered the ranch yard again, Earendil smiled. Leyenda, Kelirahc, and Haradhel were outside on the patio, chatting and laughing together, and Amalirahc was on the grass, chasing after the small red dragon that was Leyenda's spirit.

Earendil chuckled. "I wonder where Haldia is," he grinned, looking around. He was just in time to see Haldia slip into the barracks. He tilted his head slightly. "You know ... it occurs to me that she can probably see just fine in there."

"Now that you mention it yes," Lin nodded at that, "And to answer your question, any order except Elberon I insist we meet him before another engagement. He could have changed a lot for all I know but I am also warning you if he askes if you can ask him a question or two, but a limit on it."

She really did like Elberon, he was a lot of fun when she was a child, it was just as grew older she began to understand why her father seemed to be preparing himself each time he went to see the man.

"Well, if we see him first, then we can simply say that we have a lot of visits to get in, and so we can't stay long," Earendil shrugged. "I don't know what other engagement we could have if we waited for last."

But it was just a thought, Lin would probably know better.

Lin blinked and nodded thoughtfully and on the other sense a bit amused. Like she had said maybe Elberon had changed so she didn't know, but it was worth a chance to find out.

"Well I believe we're going to be pass the stables anyways to get to the second barracks," she offered.

Earendil smiled and shifted Miyuki in his arms so that she wouldn't get bored.

"Lead the way," he told her.

Leyenda and the others waved at the three, and he waved back at them, grinning. It was good to see them relaxing like that and enjoying themselves.

Lin waved as well as the last of the butterflies began trailing off though they liked to hover sometimes near her, which wasn't surprising. Normally Lin wouldn't mind but she hated making Earendil hold Miyuki because of it.

She led Earendil to the stable when the smell of horse hit her, it had been a really long time since she had been around one she forgot what the smell was like.

Miyuki scruched up her nose, she had a more sensitive one. Taking Earendil's finger out of her mouth she began to fuss a bit.

"Oh dear," Earendil murmured. What to do about that ...

"Lin, do you have a cloth or something sweet-smelling for her?" he asked, his brow furrowing slightly. "We really shouldn't stay in here long ..."

Elberon was brushing one of the horses, murmuring to her softly, but when Earendil and Lin entered the stable, he smiled at them. "Good morning!" he called, waving cheerfully. "Welcome back, Lin! It's been a long time since I've seen you. And that must be Prince Earendil. Welcome! And Lin's daughter, Miyuki, yes?" He beamed. "We've heard so much about you all already, I'm so glad to finally meet you!"

"Uhm...."

Lin was distracted by Elberon, it wasn't a surprise that he had greeted them and less of a surprise that he knew who they were. Elberon was most likely to know anything that went on in Haven just because he had a thirst for knowledge.

She didn't keep anything sweet smelling... unless she rummaged around in her own bag until she brought out her candy bag and handled it to Earendil. After years of keeping peppermints in that bag that is what it pretty much smelled like, peppermints and sugar.

"That smells good," Earendil agreed, holding it near Miyuki so that she could smell it. He wasn't going to let it go through, it didn't look like the sort of thing she could stick in her mouth safely.

Once Miyuki was taken care of, he nodded at Elberon. "Thank you. It's a pleasure to meet you, too."

Elberon grinned widely. "Lin, that's a beautiful flower you have in your hair. Where did you find it? I've never seen one like that around here before. Although I can't see it very well from here, the air's a bit thick ... it looks a bit odd. Where is it from?"

"Hmmm?"

Lin had forgotten about the rose in all the excitement that she had to reach up and touch it to remember it was there. It was strange she would forget that there was something in her hair.

"Oh!" Lin smiled, "Earendil gave it to me, it was a dark in the barracks so he made a source of light."

Miyuki's ears twitched, there was a nice smell from that thing he was holding, she sniffed it a few times before grabbing it and nuzzling it. It smelled good.. smelled good... taste good?

Earendil made sure his fingers were between the bag and Miyuki's mouth. He wasn't going to let her eat that.

"It's my magic, I can create items that give light as long as they're in close range of me," he explained to the groom. "Or rather, it's one of my magicks."

Elberon was impressed. "That's fascinating! But what if you're far away? I know Lin is from a different world, is there a way that it would work for her in her own world?"

"It doesn't matter, they're still pretty. I still have the several others from back when we were children," Lin murmured with a shrug.

They were fun for the moment and then pretty things to decorate with.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 28, 2010 5:24 pm

"Really?" Elberon was intrigued. "Can I see them? Oh, you probably left them back in your own world ... if you can still call it that." He laughed. "You've spent most of your life in our world by now, haven't you? You could almost say that this was your world!"

It was so much like the conversation that Earendil and Lin had had earlier that morning, and the prince couldn't help but blush.

Lin didn't notice that as she was smiling sheepishly at Elberon, because it was true. She had spent more than half her life in the Four Lands, it was no wonder why her father claimed elves had raised her.

"I keep them with me," Lin admitted, "But it's too much trouble to take them out at the moment."
