Bryan mentally flinched. "Protective aren't you? You must care about him," he looked over at Kai, "Right?"

Tala nodded, looking at Brooklyn. He didn't know what the other was going to say but he would be damned if he didn't find out.

Brooklyn looked away from Tala and at the blackboard. "I..." He trailed off and thought about what Bryna had been telling him to do for the past... however long it had taken for Brooklyn to tell him. "It doesn't really matter what I think, does it? Though, I'm sorry about yesterday..." He gave himself a mental highfive for being able to say the dreaded 's' word. Though it was to Tala so maybe that didn't count.

Kai met Bryan's eyes steadily. "Is there a problem if I am?" He challenged. "Shouldn't I be?"

Bryan leaned back and folded his arms. "Well if you don't care about him, i see no reason why i should tell you anything, but the fact that you're answering is proof enough."

Tala smiled softly. "That's what i thought, but i don't think you should be saying sorry to me, i didn't really care." tala thought for a moment, "Well i did but that's not the point."

"I don't think Kai wants to talk to me... at all." Brooklyn said quietly, looking back at Tala. "I screwed up." He said simply.

"Is proof enough of what?" Kai asked. "All I want to know is..." He trailed off as he realised that Bryan wasn't going to tell him much anyway. "...everything." He muttered to himself before turning away from the other and resting his arm on the desk.

Bryan smirked. "So, what you're really saying is, even though you supposedly hate him, you're actually worried about him, hmm?" Bryan quirked an eyebrow.

Tala rested his head on a hand, and shrugged with his eyebrows. "Sure, you may have screwed up, but you could always fix that. no use giving up if you don't try."

Brooklyn raised an eyebrow. "SInce when did you become my motivational speaker?" He asked. "Why the hell are being so nice to me anyway?" He asked suspiciously

Brooklyn's gaze hardened. "Then you'll forgive me if I'm not." He said quietly before turning to face away from Tala. He would move but he didn't want to have to leave because of Tala.

Kai glared at the wall before turning back to Bryan. "I'm only responding to the way he's treating me." He explained.

Brooklyn ignored the redhead and rested his head in his arms. "Is there anything else you wanted to talk about?" He asked pointedly.

"I wasn't trying to win anything?" Kai stated flatly. "However, you still haven't told me why you're suddenly hanging out with Brooklyn so much."

Bryan glared back at Kai. "Wow, his friend i couldn't tell. And you know it really isn't any of your business what he does or who his friends are, maybe yous should act like a friend and be happy for him," he snapped.

Tala opened an eye. "I'm here becuase i am in class and what makes you think i want anything?" He closed his eye again.

Brooklyn sighed and gave up trying to say anything else to Tala. He hadn't wanted o move because of the redhead but he knew he couldn't survive a whole lesson sitting next to him. He quickly gathered up his books and stood up, walking away from where he had been sitting and finding a seat on the other side of the classroom.
As he passed Tala Brooklyn whispered quietly. "You won, ok? Leave it at that."

Kai's fists balled of their own accord. He forced himself to relax them and looked at Bryan, feircly controlling his emotions. "What am I meant to be happy for him about?" He demanded. "What aren't you telling me?"
He glred at Bryan. "You're one to talk about being his friend. I've known Brooklyn since he came here and began staying with Garland. You've known him, what? All of two days?"

Tala blinked as he watched Brooklyn get up. He sighed, "if that's the way you want it," he said quietly, "then fine, but maybe you would enlighten me as to what i have won?"
