Let those who face me know....

"So far as I know, I'll be learning my bloodline techniques on my own once I reach the appropriate rank." Karo tilted his head and examined the scroll on the block of sand without touching it.
He returned his gaze to David and nodded slightly.
"I don't think I'll be learning too many ninjutsu techniques of any kind, but I'll be happy to learn some. After that I'll find out if Jade-dono has anyone in mind to teach me the Desert Fist."

"Huh, let me come along when you find someone then. I haven't learned that myself. Our previous kage was rather, indecisive, about such things. To put it lightly." David said, shaking his head slightly, before tipping the scroll and rolling it open to the first section. "Alright, the sand element is split into three categories. Offensive, Defensive, and Genjutsu. Which would you like to start with?" The answer to this question would not only let David pick an appropriate starting jutsu for the boy, but tell a little about his character. Was he the type to go all out on the attack, hang back, or attack from the shadows? Three different methods, all of which had their place. Then again, it might not tell much at all, considering a well rounded shinobi would learn all three in time. David himself had simply bounced around picking the choicest fruits and leaving the rest. That would probably change now, as he'd teach better if he knew the jutsu himself.

"Jade-dono has a scroll on the style, though I don't know if she took it with her when she left or if she left it here with her clone. As for which type of Sand Release I'd like to learn - it would probably be best for me to learn offensive techniques." Karonashi was rubbing his chin as he thought. While having defensive techniques wouldn't be such a bad idea, he had a feeling that learning offensive maneuvers would allow him to add some range in to his attacks.

Nodding, David rolled the scroll back a bit, so that the offensive E rank section was showing, Sliding his finger across the parchment, he laid it on the first jutsu. "Well, oddly enough, the first technique for both offensive and defensive, is the Suna Bunshin. Basically the same as any other bunshin, but made from sand. Do the handseals, running your chakra into the sand, and then focus on lifting it up, into a human form, then imprint that form with your own appearance." As he spoke, he did it, and a lump of sand next to him formed, growing taller and taller until it shaped out into the form of a human, David himself. "Unfortunately, the suna bunshin can't be colored, so it's obviously a fake. And for some reason, mine can't seem to talk..." With the last line, he glanced at his clone and gave it an odd look, to which the clone simply shrugged, before going off to the side and sitting down. David wasn't in the habit of making clones just to kill them, so he'd be there until something happened to destroy him.

Name: Suna Bunshin no Jutsu (Sand Clone Technique)
Description: Creates clones out of the sand. Uses small amount of chakra and requires the presence of sand to perform. It is fully functional, meaning it can attack and be attacked but it has the appearance of sand so it's useless to use as a distraction. Due to it’s nature of being formed out of sand this bunshin is more solid than most, meaning things such as explosive tags can be put on them.

E ranked, so three posts plus whatever bonuses you have.
Two chakra plus bonuses for every use too, failed or not. Always bugs me when people don't spend the chakra just cause they haven't actually learned it yet.

Karonashi turned what David had said in his mind, figuring out how he would go about creating the solid clone. The technique didn't sound too difficult, but there was still a possibility that there was something that he was missing that would prove to be a major hindrance in his efforts to use the technique. He frowned and shrugged eventually - standing around pondering it would never get him anywhere.

The teen ran his eyes across the scroll, taking in the seals that the jutsu required. When he had them locked into his mind's eye, he began flipping through the seals, slowly at first then with increasing speed as he got used to the pattern. He moved right into channeling chakra into the technique, sending it out through the seals into the sand around them. A few feet away from him, a lump of sand slowly rose up and began shaping together into a humanoid shape. It resolved into a passable copy of the teen, although it was rather...tan.

[Chakra total after this post: 18 (Max) - 2 (E rank technique) = 16 Chakra Points]

{{You realize that I also get to apply your 'Teacher' Bonus as well? So I'd actually subtract 3 posts?}}

{Good catch. You can learn the rest of these E's in one post then, cause you get a -2 for ones I read and can learn, and -3 for ones I know. On that one I only really used the scroll so he could look at it himself if he wanted. }

David walked over to the completed clone and walked around it a couple times, before walking around the original too. Nodding to himself, he walked back to the impromptu desk, and scanned over the next technique. Which... Turned out to be one he couldn't teach here... He'd have to find someplace in town to teach the boy that one. On to the next one then!

"Alright, next we have the Suna Yadama Ooikakusu. It's pretty simple, you just use chakra to stick sand tightly to a projectile." He stated, pulling a shuriken from his pouch and running slowly through a few hand seals. With the seals completed, he bent down and scooped the shuriken through the sand on the ground. It could be done with sand from weights or a gourd, but it was easiest this way. Holding the shuriken up to be seen, he showed that it had pretty much turned tan, coated with a thin layer of sand. "Basically it's a simple way of getting sand inside an opponent's wound when you hit them. Not only does it really irritate an open wound, but if it's not cleaned out it can make for a nasty infection too." With his explanation done, he released the jutsu, letting the sand sprinkle back down to the ground, and stashed his shuriken back in his pouch. No point throwing it and wasting it when all there was to hit was the dunes or a clone.

Name: Suna Yadama Ooikakusu (Sand Projectile Coat)
Description: Before releasing a projectile such as a kunai or shuriken, the user first coats it with a thin layer of sand. The main purpose of this is to get sand within a wound when the projectile strikes, inflicting extra pain to distract the enemy.

Karonashi tilted his head - this one looked mildly useless for him - he wasn't the type of person to use projectiles at all.
"Err, can we move past this one?"

{ We don't, or I expect it'd say so on the profession. Do you still want to skip it, or? It may be next to useless, but at the same time, by learning it you can claim total mastery! }

David cocked his head to the side, then shrugged. It looked pretty useless to him too, so he couldn't really blame the boy. "If you really want." He agreed, turning back to the scroll to look at the next technique. "Okay, next, and the last of this type for now, is Suna Jishaku. According to the description, after doing the seals, you hold your hand out and draw sand towards you. You'll only be able to pull in a little bit with this at first, but I could probably move the whole desert..." He said with a nervous smirk. It was true though, take something he could already do with a thought, and turn it into a jutsu?

Slowly doing the hand seals described by the scroll, David held his hand out to the side, and watched as a small dune completely collapsed and began to crawl towards them, as if drawn by a magnet, just as the jutsu claimed. Quickly he cut off the chakra supply to the jutsu, not wanting to bury himself and his new student. "Your turn." He turned to Karo and smiled slightly. This should be a fun one.

Name: Suna Jishaku (Sand Magnet)
Description: As the name of this jutsu implies, this technique allows the user to draw sand towards them. The user simply forms one hand into a seal, and holds their other hand out, attracting the sand towards their outstretched hand. They can attract any sand in the area towards them, providing that they can see it, and that the sand is not currently under another persons control. The amount of sand they can draw towards them is dependant on the user. At low levels only a bare few handfuls of sand can be drawn towards them at one time, while with much higher ranks the user can draw vast amounts of sand, enough for five to ten sand clones.

Karonashi tilted his head - it appeared to be something that would be a useful ability, if simply because it would allow him to replenish the sand in his armor or weights while he was in the middle of combat. He copied the hand signs that David had just demonstrated, while focusing on their order and doing his best to insure that they weren't misformed. When he felt comfortable with the chain, he pushed chakra through it, and was rewarded with seeing sand that wasn't aligned to himself or David slowly start crawling towards him.

Watching as the sand began it's slow crawl towards Karo, David nodded. "It's not much right now, but as you get stronger, it can do a lot more." he assured him, turning back to the scroll. "That's all I can show you of the offensive for now, but we can do more of them later. Most of the good ones are D rank and up." David shrugged. He was rather helpless to teach the boy more at the moment. Odd rules and all that. Turning his head to look at the kazekage's clone he decided to ask a question. "He doesn't have a headband, so I assume he's an academy student. Do I need to give him a test now?" If he got the kid his promotion to genin, he'd be free to teach him a lot more, which would be good for everyone involved. Not that the test would be easy. No, David had some kinks to work out still in his new body.

((Yeah, sorry Hin. Non Ichibi Jinchuruuki only get access to offense or defense until Chuunin. So unless we start pushing into those D-ranks, I'm done learning Suna ninjutsu))

Hmm? I was of the thought that that only applied as far as bonuses from stuff like the elemental type. Hold on, I'll ask Gregar.
