"I can't have you do that. No one gets in the way of Reno and the Turks."

[Traverse Town : Second District Café]

"Kinda hard to have a meeting with the guy when he's talking to customers," Reno noted, glancing at his employer from his position next to the bar. He was talking to Rude, of course, who was never far away, and had declined sitting on a stool in favor of standing. Enough people were around for the two of them to remain inconspicuous.

He turned back to his partner, shrugging, "I guess we have to wait."

Actually, the duo had to track Rufus down. He was supposed to meet them upstairs, but had left for some reason or other. Not that finding him in the same building had been that hard, but it did raise a bit of Turk-like suspicion. He felt no anxiety about the upcoming mission, whatever it was, and kept his cool throughout the wait, even declining the bar tender's offer when it came. Work while you work, play while you play...

[You aren't good enough for her... drop dead buddy]

[Traverse Town : Second District Cafe]

The younger twin was getting rather restless without any food in his stomach. "Ugggh! What do I want from this menu!?" he said ruffling his hair. He looked over to his sister and saw that she had ordered some sort of sandwich with meat and cheese. "Just give me whatever she got!" he then let his head fall forward onto the table and left it there. "Rawrgh... so hungry..." he sat there complaining to his sister the rest of the time waiting for his food.

"Oh? You've got my nose? *riiiiiip* Well, I've got your arm."

[Traverse Town::Second District Cafe]

Mitsudo had stayed outside when everyone went to get food. The monk needed to meditate calmly, and he scanned the rooftops for a suitible place to relax at.

"Today's just not my day, it seems." He grumbled darkly, his steel grey eyes ready to blow a hole through someone's head if they so much looked at him funny.

{ Don't underestimate the light. }

[Traverse Town : First District]

Mina did not notice Vain's arm at first, how the darkness had spread, but during one of her circles she happened to catch a glimpse of it. The curiosity of it drove the pain of her stubbed toe far from her mind, and she slowed down, tripping unceremoniously over her big shoes in the process. Today was not her day...

She got up and dusted herself off, taking note that Vain's arm was not as darkness consumed as she had thought. Strange. She could have sworn she saw it differently just a few moments ago. Ah, well. Her head was spinning then. It happens when you run around in circles.

So dizzy... Mina tried to focus on his arm, but it kept moving to the right. And so did she. She ran into the closed door and fell to the ground.

"I need a vacation," she moaned.

{OOoo Goody.... Who are we torturing today?]

[Castle Oblivion:: Common Room -> Haruko's Room]

"Alight Olum right this way..." Haruko giggled and took Olum's big hand into her own and started to drag Olum straight to the hall with the rooms.

"Here is my room..." she giggled as the tiny wooden door appeared with a keypad. "Oh by the way I need your index finger..." she instantly took his index finger and pressed it onto the pad.

The scanner started to scan his hand until a tiny needle took a tiny bit of his blood and then resealed inside of the door. "Don't worry its just a tiny bit of bood don't be a baby!!!" she giggled and then her face turned serious for once. "As soon as I open the door duck....'' she instantly opened the door and a blade instantly shot out of the door. "Man I never get tired of that but come in!!!!"

She walked in and showed off her torture chamber. "You like...? Your the first person in this room besides me..."

Alex's stomach rumbled as her sandwich was given to her. She looked to where Elde had gone to and disappeared. Her eyes followed to Soryuju for a moment before flicking down to her sandwich. The girl ate slowly, half her mind on the conversation at the table and half on Elde. She had half a mind to follow him, but then realized that she had no reason to. She had no reason to him at all, besides a bit of curiousity.

Alex sighed and went back to eating her sandwich. After a few minutes, she stood up, excusing herself to the bathroom, and took a detor to the alleyway. She looked around and heard people talking. She hid behind a dumpster and looked around the edge.

She saw Elde and someone else talking. Her eyes widened as Elde fell to his knees in pain. She pulled her sword out of its sheath and came out from behind the dumpster, sword raised.

"What did you do to him?" she said to the man (Jack) in front of Elde. Her sword quivered slightly, but her stance was firm.

{[Elde]}

"Why does fortune seem to strike the most kindhearted people? Is everything just pre-ordained?"

.:[Traverse Town: Alley]:.

But it was too late! By the time Alex had moved out from around the corner the mysterious man was gone, as abruptly as he had appeared. Unfortunately at the moment Elde would not even be able to notice her...

Elde felt a searing pain in his chest and head, a pain so strong that it brought him to his knees. He was overcome by this hurting, but also by a sense of familiarity. This pain was not new to him. It was the pain of images being forced into his mind against his will. He couldn’t believe this was happening. There was no stopping it now though, and he merely crouched there in the alley one hand on his head and one hand on his chest, images flooding his mind like quick flashes.

Soon though things began to slow down and meld together, and he saw a sight he was all too familiar with, things were just a little clearer. He saw himself standing before an ornate large white door, he watched as it slowly opened to reveal a searing light beyond it, he almost thought he could see a shape within the light but it was too foggy. Strangely enough, just like the last vision he had seen he could see himself, the vision was in a third person perspective and he viewed himself standing before this door as it slowly opened. Then the terrifying part, he seemed to see himself be eradicated by the very light being thrown forth by the door and he knew the vision would end soon. There was something different this time though. Just as he thought he would be able to break out of this terrible vision of his down fall he saw very closely in his own hand before he fully faded away… something. His vision shifted, as if he was staring at the thing directly before his eyes. It looked like a blade, in the shape of a key.

With that he exhaled profusely and fell onto all fours, panting heavily. He was back in the real world… at least, hopefully what he saw wasn’t the real world. He couldn’t believe this, he thought the terrifying vision thing was a one time deal, and why had it been a four year gap between them!? He held his eyes open by force, refusing to blink in case closing his eyes meant seeing that sight again. And that thing, a keyblade? Could he call it that? Why was that significant?

Confusion flooded through him, and he had another horrifying thought. Last time this had happened he had come to with no memory of his home, had he lost something this time as well?

He slowly stood taking in a deep breath and exhaling, closing his eyes, calming himself. He hoped this wouldn’t become a regular occurrence. Then his eyes flashed open in realization, the man he had been talking to before his sudden outburst was missing. Not only that but he had spoken as if he knew what was going to happen, then Elde finally began to understand what he had been talking about. ‘My heart?... Is this what he was talking about?’ Elde placed a hand on his chin in thought. He said that he wouldn’t find answers here, so he would have to… leave Traverse Town?

Elde slowly turned, his low cape flowing behind his legs as he did so. "Oh! Alex!" Elde's voice seemed different when he said this and he quickly placed a gloved hand in front of his mouth giving a quick "Ahem" before he returned to his normal suave tone. It wasn't like him to let people in to his personal issues, he preferred to deal with them himself, he put on his usual coy smirk and leaned back into his usual posture, slickly moving a white spike of hair out o his face. The pain had completely subsided and he felt fine now, other than his feelings of dread. He figured he could figure this out later and that company might be what he needed. "Fancy seeing you here dear, you look a little stressed... something the matter?" yeah he was playing off the amnesia thing to avoid awkwardness, smooth. For a small moment Elde actually wondered what would happen if he decided to let someone like Alex in on who he really was, but just as quickly he pushed the idea from his mind. "Come on lets walk and talk" he said to her with a wink.

He turned and gave one last glance at where the man had been. What was his name? didn’t he just tell him? It felt like it was right on the tip of his tongue. Elde shrugged and silently stalked back to the restaurant.

Alex blinked, her sword falling for a moment. She had been sure there had been some one there, and yet it was only Elde. She frowned and sheathed her sword. She raised an eye brow at him obviously trying to cover up something.

"I thought there was someone here... and you were on the ground in pain," she said, following him. He was something, that's for sure. What that something was, she wasn't sure. "Alright. Can't see why not. Nothing seemed to be interesting with the group anyway." She shrugged her shoulders.

"So why were you out here Elde? Seems like an odd place to go for a walk," asked Alex, looking over at him.

The girl would nod, seeming to understand the explanation the healer provided and proceeded to eat the food when it was brought to them.
Use the utensil- stab it into the piece of food- not too big- and place in mouth using the utensil- then chew- and swallow-… keep mouth closed during that last processes.
This was how Youni thought for the time being.

She didn’t notice Aerith waving to youth across from them at another table.

Just pick up a piece, eat it, and swallow, again- and again, ag- ?!?

Something flickered across her senses, tickled a very distinct one that actually made the girl look up from her nearly finished meal and look in the direction of its source. A wall.
No- behind the wall.
Through the building…
into the alley…where Elde would be grasping at his chest.

Youni simply blinked curiously in that general direction for a few moments, as if her eyes were watching something , but to everyone else it would seem that maybe she was really engrossed in the decorations co-incidentally placed there.

But for Youni, she felt this…this… sensation, which was unusual, for she felt nothing. Least..nothing that Aerith ever described. This wasn’t pain- and this wasn’t emotion.
It was like knowing when someone was in the room. When they're right besided you- you can feel their presence brush up against yours like a tangible touch.
That’s how this felt. For this moment, Youni couldn’t help but notice Elde beyond all those walls and barriers. His presence was so obvious it screamed at her. It seemed natural to look at him.

But Youni said nothing as she did this-( it would look odd to those who knew her however), she just looked to where Elde’s heart demanded attention.
Soon, this perpetual draw lessened, and faded into the background of everyone else again… and once it did she returned to eating again.

When she would finally finish the last piece of her food Youni would put the utensils down and resume watching everyone else. She stared across at Faust curiously, and child again. Then her eyes drifted around the room, to rest upon another curious figure, Rufus. Youni had not seen this man before, but he didn’t look like a stranger to the town like Faust or the little girl did, and he was at ease like he owned the place.
Maybe Aerith knew him.
Realizing she had neglected the drink that came with her meal, Youni’s hand encircled the cup of water and she drank slowly and steadily. Everything this girl did was done with a thoughtful pace, not slow, but smoothly like everything she did was important for her to think about- as- she did it.

NALΘ

[Traverse Town ♦ Second District Cafe]

As Nalo waited for his fruit to arrive, he tilted his chair back slightly and pondered about the motley crew that lay before him. He recognized the hume in the black overcoat, and Soryuju, but the others...they were unfamiliar.Who are these strange humes that have come to this equally strange world...Best way for him to find the secrets of any world is to go exploring. Nalo stood up and patted his hair down. It had become hardened with dried blood and dirt. He looked like a street rat. Guess some things never change.

"Soryuju!' He called out to his acquaintance at the bar. "Has the world been treating you well since I saw you last? Who is this, a friend of yours?"

"Why does fortune seem to strike the most kindhearted people? Is everything just pre-ordained?"

.:[Traverse Town: Alley]:.

“Aww you were worried about me, that’s sweet” he legitimately tried not to sound sarcastic, but he didn’t think it worked. He placed his hands in his pockets as he walked with the girl “I was just out here to get some fresh air is all, it was getting a little stuffy inside…As for the pain, well, lets just say I have heart problems” no pun intended he thought to himself. “But what about you? It wouldn’t be the first time a pretty young lady has put herself in, well, TRIED to put herself in danger for the likes of me” he asked coyly as he turned to look at Alex while still walking through the faintly lit alley, his face illuminated nicely by the few warm lights.

Elde wished he could actually out right tell Alex how much she was helping him right now, by keeping his mind off of more depressing events that had just occurred. But that just wasn’t his style.

Alex rolled her eyes at Elde and shook her head with a chuckle. "Me? I dunno really, but I guess sometimes it's better than dwelling on thoughts," she said, glancing off into a shadow. She rolled her left shoulder absentmindedly, her mouth twitching into a grimace for a moment.

She flicked her eyes back to him and gave him a smile. "And there's only so much idle chit chat I can take," chuckled Alex.

“Oh your sooo right, sometimes the pace just needs to pick up, ya know?” he sort of skipped naturally over her words about dwelling on thoughts, definitely not ready to open up or be opened up to. “So I guess we both sorta pledged ourselves to Sory huh?... so how devoted are you to him, actually?” he wondered how loyal she was because Elde knew that for him morality wasn’t always an issue and that loyalty was the only thing that really made people his friends… he chuckled slightly at the bit of irony to that as he waited for her response.

(OOC: Apologies for the belated post - Christmas and New Year celebrations sprung upon me like an uber-stealthy monkey-ninja, but both were an absolute blast! Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas, and to all, have an equally fantastic twenty-ten!)

[ F α u s † ]

Character(s): Maximillion Alexander Faust II [Faust].
Status: Hungry, with a growing wariness at the unfolding events.
Location: Traverse Town: Second District - Hotel Cafe.

---

The hidden tension within him receding slightly as... it... withdrew to gather their order, Faust shifted back into his seat, and, breathing out his next breath slowly and deliberately, began to force himself to relax. This is hardly hostile territory - it's a cafe, all things considered. None of those shadow-creatures to worry about, and crowded with people-- His train of thought was cut off as Aerith waved, and his eyes glanced across the space to rest on a tall, blonde-haired youth, who was waving back with a friendly grin.

Reverting to habit, his eyes quickly took in the scale armor he wore, and the golden plates on his hands that caught the light as he waved. On them were a symbol that he didn't recognize, but that wasn't what concerned him. His eyes watched the young man's carefully as they blatantly moved over Aerith, himself, the strange girl... and then finally crease into a slight frown as they landed on Colorai. His own eyes not giving anything away, including the fact he had noted the reaction, Faust silently loosened his revolver in its holster and watched via the security mirror as the youth walked over to-- the Ronso! This registered a slight surprise, although Faust kept his countenance perfectly placid. He also noted, out of the corner of his eye, another youth dressed in red and bearing an almost-theatrical look of concern on his face, quickly remove himself from the far-side table and exit the cafe via a side entrance.

Well, as least now the girl isn't my problem anymore-- but the boy who just left may bring trouble. Turning his head back to those around the table, his internal wariness increased further. You recognize their kind anywhere-- they might not be the same, but a group of mercs is a group of mercs, no matter the disguise. There was almost no other conceivable reason why such a group of different people would associate with each other. As his eyes began to rake over the group, taking in potential threats, he noticed another person enter the cafe. It didn't help Faust's sense of unease that this certain individual almost radiated an air of unfriendliness bordering on the hostile. Unusually no one else seemed to notice him as he slid silently into a table on the far side of the room, and began to simply... watch the area, in an almost-mechanical nature that was uncanny, although Faust had no reason to think why. Another one to keep an eye on-- just perfect.

Then emotion splashed over his face, as a single, almost instant, display of something which could almost be described as hate.

Rufus Shinra-- what is he doing here? Although he was sure that the former-leader of the tyrant-conglomerate Shrina Corporation wouldn't recognize him, Faust couldn't help but let his eyes narrow as they stalked the man across the space. The dirtiest, most corrupt b*****d - after his father - that our world has-- had produced... but clean-- no one had ever had anything. This uncomfortable infusion of the past was enough to snap Faust from his reverie, and quickly tear his eyes from the man before he noticed. Realizing that his hand had reflexively come to rest on the butt of his revolver, Faust's eyes quickly returned to the security mirror, his expression resuming its facade of nonchalance.

Glancing over the bar, he immediately recognized the two men malingering. Reno and Rude-- Turks... this is definitely becoming a bad place to linger. His eyes began searching for the quickest exit-- and were swiftly interrupted as their food came sliding smoothly onto the table, along with... its... almost insufferable smile. Swiftly nodding a short thank-you, he began to eat with disinterest, more concerned with the status of the cafe.

Noting with discomfort that the unusual girl - Youni - was eating in an almost mechanical nature whilst at the same time staring fixedly at one of the far walls' furnishings, he was struck again with the sense of the uncanny-- and the thoughts connected. His eyes flicking imperceptibly between Youni and the man in the corner, he was struck by a thought. Those two remind me of each other-- the same race, perhaps? Shaking his head slightly, he dismissed the thought as idle curiosity, his eyes flicked upwards one more time, taking in the sight of an extremely disheveled, unkempt individual walking towards the armored youth in welcome, before returning silently to his meal.

[[Xogame]]

<"Emotions are the true source of all evil.">

[Traverse Town: Second District]

Xogame left the cafe with a slight scowl. Nothing had caught his interest. Now back on the street his eyes once again were drawn to the clock tower that dominated the area. Surely something of such size also held something of signifigance, perhaps even the gateway to the heart of this world. Xogame smiled momentarily. Yes, that would be interesting, to see if he, a lone Nobody, could expose the heart of a world to the Heartless. Once the Heartless did thier job the world would either survive like himself, or perish. In either case it would be a fitting start to his campain. A clear call to all the worlds that the time of the heart was coming to a close.
