((I'm just going to ignore Ronus as being in the inn as that would be his first post back.)

Selce wasn't sure exactly what Melkor was to her. "I guess you could say Melkor and I have similar goals and agndas, and as he chose to bond with me he is a companion." She smiled down at the dragon who preened himself. "You could say that, I suppose." Melkor allowed. "So when Erron and the halfling meet back up with us, we can meet the Archmage and ask her our questions." Selce let drop and took a swig of the glass. She let the warmth of the wine seep into her and warm her from the inside out.

"Well," Tjaden said, overcoming his initial reaction to Melkor, "Erron, Prometheus and I went to see Beremond Truthbearer. Apparently the Dwarves and the Elves are fighting for the same reason as the Orcs and Humans. Erron and Beremond think that it is not co-incidence....and Erron suspects your 'friend' Serak may have a hand in it, one way or the other." Tjaden explained. It probably meant more to Selce than to him, seeing as she was actually incarcerated by the mage.
"We wanted to know if the archmage knew of Serak....or anything else of vallue about our situations."

The time is now 8:00 p.m.

Edge was now breathing a bit more heavily than earlier in the evening. Erron was slumped against a wall again from yet another sparring match involving the Quivering Palm technique, though this time he remained conscious and took far less damage.

"Let us take a reprieve for now, Erron. I am certain there are questions you would ask of me. And to be honest, I could use a breather myself, you are becoming more and more competent with each swipe of your fist."

The large old monk sat down and chuckled a bit.

As the dwarves all dispersed to do what ever they pleased until morning, Ronus made his way to an inn, The Sleeping Swordsman. A few dwarves walked with him before breaking away from him after seeing something they wanted to check out. Opening the door, he stepped in and scanned the room, checking to see if it was busy. Upon looking about, he caught sight of someone he hadn't seen for a long time. Eye's widening slightly he moved so he could get a better view of the wizard and then grinned. Moving towards her, Ronus exclaimed, "Selce! I haven't seen ye' in quite a while! How have ye been?" After he had walked to the wizard, he took note of her companions, an Orc and an Elf. He frowned at the elf but then continued to look about. His eye's stopped upon the dragon which stood upon the table. "By th' gods! Is tha' a dragon?"

Erron breathed heavily and slumped himself into a slightly less bent position and into a more relaxed one then posed his question

"Do you have any regrets in becoming a monk? Our lives are the pursuit of bodily, spiritual and mental perfection...just like scholars our journey to attain what we strive for is endless, after all."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 11, 2009 3:39 pm

"Regrets? No I don't regret following this path at all. My entire life has been spent attempting to better myself and find a better way of living."

He paused and made a slow sweeping motion with his hand, presenting his humble abode.

"You see my dwelling and what do you see? You do not see flourish nor a derelict home. I am here now because my journey has ended. I have gone as far as my limited age will allow me. However, throughout my life, I have never once looked back with despair. I have touched the lives of many and aided those who needed it, allowing them to prosper in similar ways."

He smiled as he thought to himself once more of all those whom he had helped and where they were today.

"And now you assist me in doing the same with my own life"

Erron finished the thought with a smile, he had not felt disparage with his life since he had been taken in by the school he had set out from not so long ago, everyone there was like kin, whether they were elf, dwarf, halfling, orc, or partially two races, everyone who visited or took a lesson or two from the school could only learn and at the same time teach.

"Life is a rich tapestry of the things we encounter and the people who add their own thread to the weave for however long a period, after all."

Erron groaned a bit as he stood up from the wall, brushed himself off, and started stretching his slightly throbbing muscles.

Kal found it to be getting later, and with no sign of them heading to bed. He decided to tag along with the Orc and see if, within the night's loving dark embrace, he could steal the seal from him and be able to meet the man. He stood from his bed and made his way down the stairs, once more back to the group. Selce seemed to have joined, with a small dragon, and Laren, and what seemed to be a dwarf. "You'd think they'd begin to kick us out if we didn't order anything," Kal said aloud to the ever growing group. He didn't take the time to introduce himself to the Dwarf yet, he didn't know him, and therefore had no shred of trust for the guy yet.

Laren smiled at the dwarf as he looked over the group, trying to dispell his mistrust for being who she was. Then Kal came down and she replyed to the comment, "Phineas's reach spreads far, besides we have rented rooms for the night, ordered meals and eat them, it would be bad a very bad buisness decision if the tavern owner kicked us out or forced us to bed, it is more so when the night is still young."

Kal shrugged. "Fair logic," he returned. He then nodded to the Dwarf, trying not to be rude. He didn't have to trust him to have manners. "So, what's the plan?" he asked, focused on Laren, but not really caring where the answer came from.

Selce stared wide eyed at someone she hadn't expected to see again. Finally she figured she didn't want flies to nest, so she closed her mouth. "Well I was not expecting to see you again Ronus, not after you went to help your kin. But beside that this is Kal, Tjaden and Laren." As she said each name she pointed at the person.

"As to your question on my being I am quite fine, despite the best efforts of a certain mutual 'friend' in our past, some bandits, and two trolls. As to your second yes this is my new friend and familiar Melkor. But enough about me, how have you fared on helping your kin?" She asked after she retold their travel to Haven and the things that had happened to her after reaching the city.

Tjaden caught on quite quick that this was one of the allies in the fight against Serak, but he knew the man less than Laren and trusted him only slightly less than Kal. He knew that dwarves were supposed to be dependable, but they also did very little to further their relationship with the Orcish Hordes...at least with Tjaden's tribe.

The discourse between Selce and Ronus prevented him from speaking, not wanting to interrupt. He merely nodded when his name was said and waited to answer Kal's question about their plans. Tjaden was actually surprised that he was following through. He had figured the little halflings comment about going with him had been a ruse to keep them on complacent terms rather than an expression of sincere concern for agendas that were, given the recent addition of the resourceful character, not his own.

Laren respectfully nodded and smiled to the dwarf when Selce mentioned her name before turning to the halfling and pushing out a chair next to her. She pointed at him and patted the seat, saying with words that she wanted him to be seated.

Kal walked over to the seat and sat down. He liked this growing friendship between Laren and himself. Though the size difference was comical. "How are you doing, my tall and alcoholic friend?" he asked, jokingly on the alcoholic part. Refering to her love for drinks.

(Temporary puppeting)

Laren gave the halfling a cold glare though it faded relatively quickly and became a wry grin.

"All's well. I pursued that smithy we saw earlier today. It turns out he's some kind of legendary crafter. For a dwarf, he certainly bragged about his ancestry far more than most of his kin," she turned to Ronus and only partly flushed," No offense intended my bearded friend."

"Anyway," she continued,"his name was Franclorn Fireforge, he had an interesting book called 'Armaments of the Ages' that showed off some of his family's most prized work."

Ronus chuckled at the elf's typical brash choice of words and yet unlike much of his kin, he simply allowed the unintended insult to slide. He winced as the name of the book was mentioned.

"Selce, was that not the title of the book we found within the confines of that b*****d, Serak's dungeon?"
