Lena's concentration was broken by a female. She looked and frowned through her eyes. She'd fallen while getting a book. Shaking her head, she tried to force herself to turn her attention back to the book.

Even as she tried to read, her attention was being diverted elsewhere. Not just anywhere, but it focused on Taern. She was finding herself acting unnaturally and she was very confused about it all. He was skimming over stuff, the fall from the girl seeming to not have disturbed him.

Her eyes strayed over him as her thoughts took flight completely on their own. Suddenly her eyes widened and she blushed furiously. Hopefully, Taern wasn't even noticing that she had been staring at him. Not to mention the thoughts that had run through her head. She was most definitely acting unnatural.

A stray wish made it through that caused her breathing to pause. She wanted to know what it was like to kiss him. Shaking her head slightly to clear it out, she forwned. She had to get these thoughts out. Even if she was determined to get them out, the blush on her face was raging.

He was now flipping through the last few pages of the books, still taking mental notes. The book didn't seem to interesting, so that's what he was doing. Idly flipping through pages and looking at anything that caught his eye.

Out of nowhere, he got the sudden feeling someone was staring at him. It was instinctual and he figured it best not to act upon it considering where he was. If he got into some kind of fight here, there would be no more library. Just a pile of rubble and paper if anything was left at all.

He didn't get the feeling someone wanted to hurt him. It was the exact opposite. The feeling was familiar, but still very strange to him. It brought back some memories of someone that took his attention from the book and sent a pain through his head for a second.

He shook it off and continued. He wanted to look up, just enough to find out who was staring at him. He was a bit nervous, and didn't know why, but he still did it. He peaked just over the edge of the book and looked around, moving only his eyes.

He didn't really see anyone looking at him but something did catch his eye. Lena looked like she was trying to hide and after taking a closer look, Taern could see her face was a little red.

He didn't know what was going on so naturally, he asked.

"Anything wrong?", he said.

He said it in a monotonous tone with one eyebrow raised, hardly showing any emotion or sign of curiosity on his face. But then again, Taern was Taern. He didn't do much except get stronger and smarter. He felt like there was no other purpose, but in time, things like these have a chance to change. For better, or for worse.

After Lena jumped at his asking, he knew something wasn't right with her. He was going to ask something along the lines of ""Now I know there's something wrong," but he kept his mouth shut.

Instead he quickly returned the book to it's proper place on the shelf, and grabbed another one. "Technological Applications to Weaponry"

This book seemed like a harder read. It had more pages and smaller words. It a few diagrams here and there, but it was definitely not made to entertain. Taern wasn't really looking for entertainment, he just needed something in a book that would keep him hooked.

He plopped the book down on the table and reclaimed his seat, opening it to find the first page. He started to read, again, taking mental notes as he had done with the first book.

After he read a couple of pages, more of the memories from before went through his mind, send sharp pains everywhere. He had to stop reading for a second and drive them out before he continued. He succeeded, but was all to obvious about it. He hoped he didn't attract too much attention to himself, so he quietly continued reading.

Things got a bit odd for Taern when Lena acted so affectionately towards him. He really didn't know how to respond, and just let whatever was going to happen, happen.

Something was wrong with him and he knew it. He also knew that this time, it was more serious than the episode he had before. This was a different memory. It was more confusing than the rest and would be another mystery Taern would have to solve.

He was lying on his back, apparently in a place a lot like the infirmary at Ria High. He heard several things but only enough to distinguish sounds. He saw a woman's face over him. It was very blurry but he could still tell the face was female. It looked as if she said something to him, and walked off. The memory ended there.

When he came to Lena's hand was still on his face and he heard well enough what she said. It was still awkward, but he couldn't get himself to pull away. He just kind of sat there in a daze, not doing much.

When he got enough of his senses to speak, he did. He spoke kind of quiet and his speech was broken. He couldn't help himself.

"Um...Lena...I'm not afraid of them, it's just...well i don't know."

His brain was so scrambled that's all he could get out.

Lena chuckled softly, pulling her hand away. "Oh? If you are not afraid of them then why not let them run their course. You begin to see them and when you beleive that they are through it is only you who is afraid to let them continue. I do the same. I've let my memories run free and I don't study them or inspect them. They come and I'll remember. You try and analyze them. Don't think I haven't seen you doing that. Anytime a memory comes you begin to analyze it, supposedly to get more information."

Lena rose from her kneeling position and returned to her chair, wondering for a moment what had come over her. She was not affectionate but something about him made her want to help him. "Whenever you have another memory just let it run and you'll probably get farther along. It won't end leaving you confused." She'd been looking at her book as she said it. Then she raised ehr eyes to meet his. They had a reddish tint to them and were intense now. "You're scared to find out the truth about yourself. And so you lessen the chances of finding out who you are."

After she finished speaking, she settled back and raised the book some. If he wanted to continue speaking, she would do so. She would not be some weakling sap and admit to any emotion other than friendship with Taern.
