"...I do not know currently where he is." Caleb replied, continuing to read. Turning the page and hoping she would be departing in the next moment.

Ann sighed.
"I'll go back, then..."
She left as soon as she had come, and Moé had portaled in from the inside of the house. Instead of bothering Caleb, she was curled up in Caleb's bed, asleep.
He isn't here, she thought, and his bed is much more comfortable than mine...

Caleb stayed silent, since he was alone in his study. Turning the page of the book with one hand, and starting a bunsen burner with the other. He stood, rummaging though countless components until he found a waxy white liquid, pouring it into a beaker, he placed it over the burner.

Moé stayed asleep, drawing the soft covers over her shoulders.
She sniffed the air, and, wishing for some warmth, lit some candles.
Moé drew the curtains, and was finally comfortable.

Caleb, starting to distill a deep green substance, he looked back to the white liquid, frothing and bubbling madly. He quickly took the beaker off the burner with no protection to his hand. Placing it onto the table, he looked at the distilling green substance, he added into it, a faint clear pink liquid. He continued to watch it attentively.

Moé, asleep, peacefully dreamed of an occasion to make Ann happy, or to end her problems. She continued these dreams, and had an almost-silent snore.

Caleb now held a purple brew with a slight green color to it. Adding it into the white liquid, the philter turned to a milky purple. Holding the beaker, he sat himself back into his chair, he took off his robe, and cut the stitches away off of his right arm, preparing to pour the liquid into his flesh.

Moé was hugging a pillow, dreaming of Caleb.
"Sir..."
She giggled, and then woke up, realizing Caleb was not there.
Moé sighed, and then tried to go back to sleep, only doing so after the covers were over her shoulders.

[[the big reveal]]
Ann nudged Moé awake.
“Come on, Moé. Look!”
Moé saw Ann standing next to a man who looked a lot like Salem. He looked older, though, and a little more pallid.
“This is—“
”Uncle Felix the Hypochondriac?”
“…yeah, I guess you could say that.”
Moé got up to her feet.
“Mr. Salem’s uncle. Yeah, he knew Aunt Mahi, they were friends… but…”
Ann sighed.
”Well, I’ve been seeing him as a psychiatrist lately… but, since Kokopelli basically won’t care, and I should move on with my life…”
She gestured to him, smiling.
Moé, though, was shocked.
“N-No! Not a love dodecahedron! Ann, you’re becoming like your sister--!”
“Like Chryseis? Nonsense.“
“Chryseis loved Cirruleic in her childhood, and then moved on to like Kokopelli. When Kokopelli didn’t know what she was doing, she moved on to Salem!”
“Moé, Moé, Moé…”
Ann put her hands on her hips.
“Of course you wouldn’t understand something like loving twice…”
“Ann, I’m not going to let him—“
”Oh, no, it’s okay. Kokopelli agreed to let him stay there until he gets enough money to buy his own place.”
“What?! He doesn’t have a home?!”
“He lived in his office. Well, we should get going now, bye!”

Ann portaled and left with Felix.
Moé sat wearily on the edge of the bed, her hand on her forehead.
“Ohhhhhh, noooooo…”

Azrael sat next to her.
“I know. All my planning, gone to waste…”
[[/reveal]]
Moé looked at him incredulously, and Azrael continued.
“There’s this force—this person out there—who controls our thoughts and actions.”
”Like a monotheistic diety?”
“No, more powerful. We’re a figment of Her imagination. So, I went ‘well, why can’t I do that?’. So I plotted out my daughter’s life.”
“All that trauma, those threats…”
”I’m your uncle, for God’s sake. I would’ve killed and eaten you by now, had you been of any obstacle. Moreover, when I possessed Ann, I only hit the rough parts of your neck. I wanted her and Kokopelli, the only psychiatrist good enough to solve her mentality, to be happy, as my eldest daughter cruelly tossed him aside. But…”

All of this was too much for Moé to comprehend, so she held out her hand.
”Drink?”
As she got up to go down to the study, Azrael followed her.
”I’d love that. My head hurts.”
“You think YOURS does?!”

Caleb poured the liquid into his self inflected wound. Picking up the notebook that Ann had given him, he took a nearby raven quill out of its ink pot, quickly writing several notes on the paper. He closed his eyes, but when he heard footsteps, he jumped. Quickly sowing his skin back together, he looked to his student, and to his dismay, Azreal.

Moé sniffed.
"Sir, I don't know how to... Okay, a bunch of stuff happened, Azrael actually doesn't wanna kill you, and Ann is going off with some guy that isn't Kokopelli."
Azrael was picking at his teeth with a claw.
"It's driving Moé to drink."
"And I hate booze!"
Azrael looked sad.
"And I heard Kokopelli's not thrilled about featuring the love affair of a girl he cares about and her psychiatrist in his own home."
"Ann's just being stupid."
"Consider Kokopelli's feelings!"
Moé scratched at her head, sobbing.
"I don't understand this!"
"You shouldn't. You understand mutual love, not a weird love dodecahedron like what Ann does."
PostPosted: Wed Nov 26, 2008 8:44 pm

"And do you believe I should be the one solving this problem?" Caleb questioned.

Azrael shook his head.
"Nah, you're no psychiatrist."
[[DAHAHAHAH.]]
Moé paused.
"Maybe... we could convince Kokopelli to do the old boombox trick outside her window, or... Or the scene at an airport terminal where..."
Azrael, his eye twitching as if he had heard all of this from somebody else, instantly threw Moé [literally] into the kitchen.
"EAT SOME ICE CREAM AND DON'T MOPE!", he said with as much false cheeriness as he could muster.
Azrael turned to him.
"Kokopelli is... forced to live with them every day, now. Psychiatrists who live on floating islands don't make much, you see... He'll practically stay there forever. His parents traded their souls for an Apple of Youth, so that's why Felix and Salem are immortal."
He continued.
"I don't know Kokopelli on intimate terms, but even though he claims to not care, I saw him sobbing after the news that Ann was leaving him for a stupid hypochondriac."
PostPosted: Wed Nov 26, 2008 9:02 pm

"He will act on his own." Caleb replied, looking to his arm, hoping nothing would cause himself to open the wound again.

"No, he won't," Azrael said with quite some confidence. "You should be able to find it to be true as well. He's too busy pulling the 'I'm too tough to get hurt' card. You know who ALSO did that? My neice, Valentine, Moé's mother. Before Moé's mother and father were together, and they were just employee-and-boss, her father had a tryst with some Egyptian sex goddess. The result? Valentine's rage mounting up to such absurd lengths that the entire universe was almost destroyed."
He shrugged.
"Kokopelli fears that such will be unethical, and that a display of affection will lead to Ann abusing it. Ann is like her oldest sister; she's not sure of what her heart wants, at all. From what I can tell, she even liked you a little bit, which is disgraceful to our culture, as one never gives a taken man a second thought."
