Kiae nodded, grateful for the change of subject. "I don't either," she agreed, the thought bringing a smile back to her face. "He's a very unique man. We are both lucky to have had him as a Warder, I think," she added carefully, not sure how the Green would take that remark.

Esole flinched at her comment but tried to hide it beneath her Aes Sedai serenity. "Indeed," she agreed quietly, remembering the disappearance of her current Warder. Her heart panged with sadness and she ruthlessly crushed it. She lifted her chin, tightened her grip on her reins, and scanned the surrounding area so she would be doing something rather than simply stewing in her own thoughts.

Kiae sighed, realizing the Green had taken it the wrong way. "I'm sorry, I didn't know how to put it," she apologized, feeling a bit stupid. Rather than pushing words at the woman, she decided to keep quiet and hope Esole would calm down once more.

Esole nodded in acceptance and continued on in silence. After a short while of deep thinking, she decided she would initiate conversation once more. "Take care of him," she said sincerely. She regretted losing the man but knew he was in good hands.

Kiae glanced over at the woman and nodded shortly. "You have my word," she swore, not needing the order to protect someone she loved. She knew where the woman was coming from, though, and appreciated the trust that was there.

Esole let out a short breath of relief. At that moment, Ethin came bursting out of woods on his horse and casually joined them. Esole smiled knowingly. He was waiting for them to finish their conversation. She guessed that he had used Kiae's change in emotions through the Bond to figure when he should come back. He went to Kiae's left, leaving Esole on the right of the Yellow.

Kiae glanced at her Warder curiously, but decided not to remark on his well-timed return just yet. "I'm assuming there aren't any other bandits lurking around?" she asked, turning her head slightly to peer at him.

Ethin smirked, proud of his little stunt. "Not a one," he said turning to her and arching a knowing eyebrow. He did not know what was said between the two but he knew that something had been settled between them and for that he was glad.

Kiae sighed tolerantly, having the suspicion that Ethin's obedient Warder attitude had merely been a ruse. "It's more fun when they're not blindly obedient anyway," a very un-Aes Sedai-like thought suggested. She smiled at that and shook her head. "Good. For their sakes, I hope they have the good sense to continue to stay away," she remarked, glancing back to Esole. "That was impressive channeling, I didn't even sense you using saidar until you had already done so," she added.

"I have found the need to embrace the One Power instantly and have become quite proficient at it. It's all a matter of your thought process. If you would like, I could teach it to you," Esole suggested lightly. She wondered whether the Yellow would take her up on that offer or not. They were two very prideful Aes Sedai and Esole wasn't sure how the two would take that situation. She repressed a sigh over the complication she was making in her head.

The Yellow thought about the suggestion before shrugging. "If we have time, perhaps. It may just be a specialty of yours, like Healing is mine," she said thoughtfully. "I appreciate the offer, though. I suppose I grew used to having my Warder do the fighting, although in the last few years I've certainly become a stronger fighter than most Yellows," she added with a short laugh.

Esole merely nodded in response to Kiae's statement. Ethin looked on, somewhat confused but completely grateful that his plan had worked out. He would ask Kiae what had passed between the two later but he did not expect to learn anything from the Yellow. If she didn't want to tell him, he would respect that.
After a long while of riding in silence, Ethin decided it was time to set up camp. He urged his horse ahead and scouted the woods to their northwest. He found a nice secluded area enveloped by the trees that would make for good cover. He returned to the Aes Sedai. "I found a good place for us to set up camp. The night is upon us," he said in his usual monotone.

Kiae nodded, having felt the night air start to grew colder as the sun set. Snow was still on the ground and beginning to crunch under the horses' hooves, threatening to freeze and make further travel even more treacherous.
"That sounds like a good idea," she agreed, nodding her head slightly as she drew her cloak closer to her. She didn't feel the cold much, but it was a reflex she had yet to lose.

Esole merely looked on, seemingly lost in her own thoughts. Ethin wanted to ask her how she was feeling but thought better of it. He guessed that he had something to do with Kiae and Esole's conversation and he didn't want to offset any good the conversation might have had.
He turned the party in the direction of the campsite and dismounted when they arrived. Ethin helps Kiae down from her saddle, knowing full well that she didn't need it but yearning to be close to her. He removed the bedrolls from their saddlebags and other camp necessities.
"I will go fetch firewood. Would one of you two set up the wards?" Ethin asked.

Kiae glanced towards Esole, unsure whether the Green would want to set the wards up or not. "I can do them tonight, if you wish," she offered with a quick smile, not wanting to insult the touchy woman.
She glanced over at Ethin, hoping he would stay within her sight while gathering the wood. She shivered suddenly at the memory of their last camp before straightening her shoulders and taking her mount's bridle again, looping the reins around a low tree limb.
