She was glad Shiro asked, since she couldn't think of anyone better for the job. Sure there was Kali, but Kali was more of a hands on inventor than she was a scholar of books and information. Shiro though... she could see maybe a few years down the road people from other clans going to him for help.
"You would be great for it," Lin replied, "Everything you know on top of whatever research you'll do."
Which meant the clan actually owned it, she glanced over at Earendil, it made her wish even more that he could visit, but the time difference was just simply a pain in the living.... behind.
"And you know... you should ask to check out the main house library, I mean... Grandpa Daemon use to have a job finding things, who knows what he brought back from those searches."

Shiro was almost giddy with glee, and he twiddled his thumbs so that he wouldn't get too antsy.
"So there will be two libraries?" he asked Lin softly, ears pricked forward to catch her answer clearly. "And I'll be able to use both of them ..."
He had made good use of his time here, reading many of the books in the palace library. They were a challenge to him, not only because of the language, but because of the content, and so he was barely an eighth of the way through the library, despite being there a full month already.

"I guess so, Grandpa's library was when it was just him, Grandma, Mom and... Auntie."
She had no idea who this aunt was, she had never met her mother's sister who seemed did the most typical Gaian thing and dropped off from the face of the planet.
"But a library for the clan now is important. So yea, you probably can use both, who knows what Grandpa might have written."
Since apparately Daemon had been a bookworm when he still had a physical body.
She giggled with glee, "That might keep you busy for a while."

One could almost see the plottage in Shiro's eyes as the corners of his mouth curled upwards in a devious grin.
"And who know what other magic I can learn?" he chuckled softly. "Though no more summoning for me ... and then I have to finish the library here, find what little I haven't read in Tou-san's library ... I want to try the Westland library as well, see what they have ... and then of course we'll be traveling eventually ..."
So much to learn ... and so much time to learn it in.

Lin wondered if this is how she sounded to other people when she got thinking about all the things she would do in the furture. It might make sense suddenly why people looked at her strange sometimes.
"Are you going to try and learn everything there is?" Lin asked.
Echoing the one wish she had when she was a child, of course she couldn't learn everything (for one she had no talent in some aspects and some thing she wans't allowed to learn).

Shiro laughed heartily at Lin's comment. It sounded familiar, and he knew why.
"Well, obviously I can't learn everything there is," he grinned, "I'm sure even my memory has a limit. But yes, I am going to learn as much as I can. Why not?"
Ura grinned and pushed his empty plate away. "And I will be helping," he purred. "With my help, we can learn things twice as quickly."

Lin smiled at Shiro wrly, "No reason, just wondering."
She finished up her dinner, thinking at least now there was an excuse to visit the Westland. It made her wonder what that was like.... well all she had to do was ask.
"It'll be fun," she told Shiro, "Seeing new things..."
She couldn't wait.

Shiro chuckled softly. "Should I be taking you with me to the Westland?" he asked her jokingly. "I'm sure Aunt Amalthea would be delighted, and Wren too. She seems a free spirit. Reminds me of you, actually."
He laughed again.

Earendil chuckled softly. "Let me know when you're going," he grinned at Shiro and Lin. "We can all go together, make it the first stop on our journey. Lin, you wanted to travel the Four Lands before we sail, right?"
At least, that had been his understanding, and he had been planning the trip accordingly.

She nodded at both the question and the common. Lin had kind of noticed that about Wern, and the other girl (woman) was a lot of fun to be around.
"That's right," she agreed, "It would be nice to see the rest of the Four Lands before sailing, there are places in particular I want to see... though I have to remind myself... I keep coming up with thoughts or questions at times its hard to keep a track of them all."

"You could write them down," Shiro suggested, raising one eyebrow and leaning forward in his chair. "Or you could ask me, if you didn't want to wait for your answer. I have read a lot, you know, and talked with Kaa-san and Obaa-san ... I may not have been places yet, but I do know quite a bit about them."
"Or you could as Wren or Ander," Ura put in in the same soft tone as his brother. "They're easy to talk to - Wren especially, personality wise I mean - and after all, they do live there. I'm sure they would be happy to answer any questions you might have."

Lin nodded sheepishly, it was just some of it was so random (as she noticed as she grew older a lot of it was on people behaviour) that she tended to forget to write them down.
Which was strange to her since she generally had a good memory to begin with.
"I'll do that," Lin replied softly.
It looked like dinner was progressing well, actually most were finished from the looks of it.

Meanwhile the younger children were busy plotting though Miyu looked like she might have a shy fit at any moment. Probably because she somehow got roped into play messenger though how they managed that was beyond her.
Well actually she knew... she was the one who kept coming up with suggestions for the poem Helen wanted to do, only because she was trying to steer it to something more... sweet.

As the first course of the meal was finishing up, Celebor stood once more and cleared his throat, tapping the table in front of him to get everyone's attention.
"Okay," he said loudly, "I hope everyone enjoyed the first course, second will be coming in just a moment. But before that, the staff is going to come around and pick up your plates and leftovers - and don't be shy about leftovers, it means that you're not lacking in food. The staff won't be offended, either. But to help pass the time and draw everyone's attention away from the dishes, we have our first presentation of the night ... Shiro, would you like to come up here?"
He nodded to the space next to him, then sat down again, taking Aras in his lap.
Shiro grinned at the others at his table and pushed his chair back.
"That's my cue," he murmured; and he reached beneath the table and took out a large black case. He nodded at Ura, and together, the two of them headed up towards the front table.

Lin watched and she had a sneaking suspicion she knew waht the presentation was. The black case was kind of a give away, and in truth she had never heard Shiro play before.
Actually, that brought a random question to mind, what sort of instruments did they have here?
"This should be interesting..."
