The lift stopped at the Command Deck and Kalin hushed his singing. He stepped out of the lift and composed himself. He held his left arm over his torso, only slightly. Headed towards the bridge, Kalin expected to see the Captain there, but he noticed the door to the Weapons Station opened instead. Against his better judgement, for he knew the Captain frequently got upset when he found Kalin in a place where he didn't belong, he walked up to the door, and entered quietly. He stood there for a second, then cleared his throat.
Daco, reporting for duty Captain. Sorry about the earlier mishap.

Jag looked over at Kalin with a blank expression. "Didn't you stab yourself?"

"Thanks" Helix answered as he slipped in under the console and pryed open one of the maintenance panels. "This shouldn't take more then a minute or two." With a pop the burnt out circuit came free of its housing and Helix tossed it at his feet. Seeing this his droid, Ellbee swooped in, grabbed the burnt circuit and handed Helix a new one. After a moment Helix finished installing the new circuit and closed the panel before clambering out. "All done, just the other two on the bridge and the dorsal array will be back at 100%."

“No problem.” She said, sitting back down at her station. “Bet the cap’ will enjoy that bit o’ good news. He seemed a little upset when he left the bridge.”

"What someone abandon their post?" Helix asked as he headed to the third panel on the bridge and set to work.

“Something more like not manning the weapons when the order was issued. not sure who it was really but the cap’ looked like he was fixin’ to burst at the seams.” She replied.

"New crew, guess he hadn't figured the ropes." Helix closed the third console after changing the circuit and headed for the fourth and final maintenance hatch, "Being an engineering is pretty much the same no matter what sort of boat you're in. Only difference is how hard things are to fix."

Mareal sat down at the console, staring at it for a moment, before flipping the power sequences and watching the displays come to life. Seeing Kalin come in, she overheard the two talk.
"A medic stabbing himself? Can we call that field surgery? Or self-experimentation?" she kidded, though she went over to the corellian and looked him down. "Does it hurt anywhere? Should you be up so quickly?"

it's alright, sir. I got a good dose of bacta. It's wrapped up well enough and as long as I stay away from heavy lifting, it'll heal up just fine.
He turned his head to Mareal and gave her a bewildered look. Kalin had once been trained as a medic and had performed the role for some portion of time, but how would she know that?
Medic? Haha, not quite. I'm the Boatswain.

"We're not getting shot at and we're a day out of port. Go lie down and let the Bacta work. You're no good to me dead. Dismissed."

“Must be green as they come not to understand the call to action stations.” She grinned. “Even I know that. And I’ve never been on a military ship, speaking of, is this thing easer to fix than a freighter? Or dose all the extra hardware make it a ruttin’ pain?” she asked, clearly curious about the Ruusan. After all, it was her new home now.

"The sheer number of systems does add to the load, but being a converted combat ship, she's got plenty of backup systems, and everything is designed to be easy to fix and maintain. Save the shield system... regenerative shielding may work wonders in a battle, but it isn't the most maintenance friendly setup." Helix smiled as he finished switching out the third blown circuit. "Thank god this boat was made by the Quarren instead of the Mon Cals, then everything would be a lot harder to work on. Just one to go," Helix said with a smile as he headed for the fourth panel.

“The Quarren built this ship?” she mused, looking around the bridge with a new prospective. “No wonder why it’s so tuff.” She grinned. “So, like do you want me to run a diagnostic and recalibrate the sensors when you’re done?” she asked.

"Well, once we come out of hyperspace you mean. There's nothing to calibrate the sensors on until we're in real space." Helix answered as he pulled open the fourth panel and set to work.
