"He just needs to get use to you," Feng assured Pen, "By the time you two have to leave again, I'm sure you'll see Elrohir's humorous side. At least you can spend time with Elrohir.... I hear Daeron when with Donovan and the others for a hunt, so you won't be able to get to know Daeron better, but you can know Elrohir better."
Ryu chuckled at this with a nod, ignoring the fact his tail was spazzing out a moment before.
"Aliya is giving the younger children their lessons," Ryu told Lothiriel, "But I'm sure she wouldn't mind a bit of company, visitors besides people from the Ranch isn't all that common."

Lothiriel giggled at Ryu's words. "Yes ... though I imagine we might end up visiting a little more often than Aunt Elnara and her family. She is quite busy after all ... so many children to look after ... sweet as they are."
Even though she hadn't met any of them besides Celebor and Serenity face to face.
Pen raised one eyebrow at Feng, then shrugged. "Well, Gwenthir says we'll be staying for quite a while ... apparently there's something in particular that she wants to do here ... so perhaps I will have the chance to become more acquainted with Daeron."
Adonijah watched Ryu's tail, but when it didn't move he felt a bit braver, and he reached out and touched it again, this time tapping it to see what it would do.

The tail flopped, that was it, but that was just a normal motion that his tail would do every once in a while anyhow. It was a fish thing in other words for his tail to flop as it did.
Ryu nodded at this, "True, things always are busy, but it's what makes things interesting. Though if you're visiting again that's wonderful, we'll probably get to meet plenty of times then.
"Oh that would be good, Daeron is a really nice person, granted I don't get to talk to him much, but everyone in the family knows of him."
Naturally in fact Tao's ears perked up at the mention of his name.

Adonijah squealed and darted back under Tao's wing, where he waited, heart pounding, peering between some of her feathers to see what the tail was going to do next.
Lothiriel smiled. "I've already promised Miyu that we would be here the next time all of you come to visit," she admitted, "so it looks like we might be here quite often when you are."
Pen looked at Feng curiously. "Everyone knows of him?" he asked softly. "What does that mean?"

"Ah...." Ryu murmured, "So you've made a friend of Miyu, that's good. She needs to get to know more people," he told Lothiriel, "Miyu comes with us on every visit, mainly because of Aragost, but also because her father thinks it's good for her."
He wasn't going to disagree with that, Miyu was not as bad as Jaseth, but it was good to encourage her more.
"Everyone knows about Daeron, but not everyone has met him," Feng explained, "Triton met Daeron when Daeron was a kid, that's how we all know, but our family is really big so not everyone has met Daeron. Actually not everyone has been to the Ranch."

Pen looked over at Lothiriel. "Triton?" he questioned.
Lothiriel smiled at him. "One of the Winterses, a man with cat ears and a tail. He was the one who traveled with my aunt when she first returned to this world."
Pen's eyebrows shot up in amazement, and he glanced back at Feng and Ryu. "I never believed you when you talked about these strange people," he murmured, directing his words towards Lothiriel, "despite the fact that you are a powerful Seer ... but now I have no choice but to accept that what you say is true."

Feng fell backwards in a heap of giggle fits, it never ceased to amuse her how much her and her brother and her family in general could surprise the way they did without even trying to do so.
"At least you take it well," she giggled, "Most people wouldn't believe or imagine until they've seen us."

Adonijah cowered closer to Tao's body as the noises from outside of his hiding place grew louder, his heart pounding so hard he was certain that the others had to hear it. Things were getting scarier and scarier out there!
Pen chuckled softly at Feng. "I couldn't imagine it," he admitted, "nor can I now imagine a man with the ears and tail of a cat. Yet I know in my head that it must be true, because look at what I'm looking at right now ... a man and a woman, both of whom have the tails of a fish, something else I hadn't thought possible, hadn't been able to envision, until now."

Feng stopped and lifted herself up so she sat upright once more. She grinned impishly at Pen, knowing how odd it must have been to see them or their family.
"Easier to imagine a man with cat ears and tail than people fish from the waist down," Ryu replied, "Only here though will you find anything like that, and only once in a while."
"Though who knows, maybe Triton will visit with us on the next trip..." Feng added, "And who knows who else..."

Lothiriel giggled. "Indeed, who else?" she laughed. "Such a large family you have ... and so many different races! I would love for all of you to come, though I don't imagine that you would all fit into the ranch house, not with Celebor, Celeborn, Donovan and Daeron bringing children back all the time."
Pen looked lost as he looked at Feng and Ryu. "How many siblings do you have, anyways?"
Adonijah paused, hearing the sound level going down once again, and peered out from beneath Tao's wing.
"Is it safe?" he asked the griffin quietly in a seiries of clicks and wuffs.

Feng had to think about it... as in really think about it before answering Pen, she got lost count between fifteen and seventeen but she was sure it was far more than that. The young mer counted on her fingers before answering.
"Nineteen siblings so far... ah... yup that sounds about right," Feng murmured.
"That doesn't even include the sixteen nieces and nephews," Ryu added.
Tao looked under her wing, clicking back, of course it was safe, it had always been safe. Then again she was also use to loud noises having grown up the way she did.

Pen's eyes goggled and his jaw dropped, shocked. "Nineteen?" he blurted, all drama aside, for the first time in a very long time showing his true reaction to something.
Lothiriel giggled at him. "They're all adopted, silly," she laughed, poking at his leg. "Don't be foolish. I don't know of anyone who's ever had that many children, no matter how long they've lived."
Adonijah looked up at Tao, poking his head out from under the wing, still uncertain, but he reached out one hand and poked at Ryu's tail apprehensively. "Fih?" he murmured, looking up at Tao for approval.

Feng giggled at that, "Our mother loves children, we're still waiting for her to actually get pregnant, which should be interesting."
She had to admit that was also another reaction that she found utterly funny to be honest.
"We're probably going to have to make more room soon," Ryu mused.
Tao nuzzled Adonijah's cheek affectionately, she agreed more or less with what he was doing. After all the tail wasn't going to bite him, nor was the person who was attached to the said tail.

Lothiriel's eyes sparkled as she looked at Feng. "I think it would be lovely," she said warmly. "I love children ... I'm eager for the day I'm married and have some of my own."
Pen blinked. "I thought you wanted to travel," he said in confusion.
"Well, no one can travel forever!" Lothiriel laughed. "Come on, even you have to settle down someday!"
Adonijah nuzzled Tao back, then turned back to Ryu's tail. He felt a lot better with Tao's approval, and his breathing had normalized once again and he was even smiling a little as he reached out and stroked some of the red scales with the palm of his hand.
"Fih," he murmured again, giggling.

Feng giggled at that, "Or just the kids, looking after kids would be good too," she added.
She had to wonder though what was it that Pen wanted to do when it was all said and done?
"Don't you?" Feng asked, "Just want to have a family one day?"
Ryu's tail flopped lazily, Ryu himself trying to ignore Adonijah to let the boy have his fun. At least there was something that didn't scare him.
