Meeting With Aurora
Surion sat in one of the back tables of the diner, he had two or three long rolls of paper in front of him, one partially unrolled. A glass of orange juice to one side which he periodically sipped on while he waited on Aurora to arrive. He'd told Rhine he wasn't going to order until she was there as well. He was dressed similar to the day before but was wearing a black tank and a blood red silk shirt open down the front and no wristbands.

Aurora Dawn came sauntering into the cafe. She had a sway and a song in her walk. She wasn't casual in the least. She held her tail and swung it in circles something she wouldn't let any one else get away from. Her large green eyes having a slight twinkle in the light. She had just enough close to be considered decent... For maybe the beach. Spotting whom she was meeting she headed that direction.

Surion reaches for his glass, his eyes still staring at the unrolled paper before him, he didn't notice the young woman's approach, he was too preoccupied.

"Surion?" She purred her question so pleasingly it could shivers down eve the strongest mans spin. She noticed her papers and made her assumptions. Before he could answer she was already setting herself. There was a slight bounce her breasts as she sat.**

Surion looks up, the paper before him rolling slightly "Yes?" he asks and then notices her sit and sits more upright "Ah... Aurora I presume?" he sets his glass down and takes in her appearance.

"Aurora Dawn," she said with a tilt of her head. She extended her hand in a means of greeting as she grinned wickedly. No mater how little or how much she moved she jingled and sparkled from the jewelry she wore.

Surion reaches taking the hand offered with a smile. His tail tapped lightly against the floor "I'm Surion, I see your mom gave you the message."

"In between the typical ******** up house hold news." Aurora chuckled. The tip of her tail flicked back and forth. "Have you found a location yet?" She was more than curious about what he had planned out thus far."

"Actually yes, I found a building that was up for sale, these are the plans for it" he unrolls the pages for her to see. They appeared to be for a large building, he was marking off some 'walls' that would have to be removed and there was some scribblings in another language here and there all over the paper "This is the first floor of the building, you see, this area here..." he runs his finger around a large area that had few walls to be removed "Will make a good dancing area... and this here" he pointed out a couple other areas "Tables, booths and a bar... With the DJ's platform raised over here" he taps yet another area just off the dance floor.

"It all looks good- And the second floor?" Aurora asked as she carefully watched every move his finger made. She liked the layout that he had, but she had a few suggestions. She decided to wait until she knew about the second floor and if he had any other plans.

Surion lets the first sheet reroll and grabs the 2nd of the 3 rolls and lifts it over the first to unroll it, there were a few notes on it but no where near as many as the first, and again some areas marked off "Okay this one here seems to be mostly rooms, but I figure we can knock out these walls here, and a couple floors here" he's pointing the entire time "To raise the ceiling of the club under it, these here make up a good area for a lounge, replace these walls here to be glass to overlook the floor below...." He'd yet to mention anything that had to do with offices.

"Have you thought about private areas," Aurora purred as she continued to watch him. He was pretty good at design- she'd give him that much. "You know nice little niche's with sheer curtains. But I'd leave the tops off so that you can watch from the glass enclosed areas." Her ears flickered. "And as for the lounge what are you going to put in it. And how about offices? Are we going to be doing paper work at the bar every night?"

"Private areas would likely be on the first floor, though only a few of them, we don't need to go overboard, this isn't meet-your-mate club it's a nightclub. The lounge would be VIP access for any VIPs to have access to... as for the offices..." he rolls the 2nd page and pulls the last one open "That's what these would be for.." the page has 2-3 dozen rooms on it, he'd marked a few walls to be knocked down but not many "Offices, a meeting room for staff if needed, and a half dozen apartments."

"I didn't mean for meet and ********... Hence why I shade sheer with no top." She said with a roll of her wrist. "They want to get risky they'll go to the bathrooms... You did lay those out- I hope." Her eyes settled on him with a grin. "And, don't just make them those stalls you can barely fit your a** into it..." Her ears flickered again. "It all sounds nice. Apartments, offices..." She purrs some more. "You know, there's just one thing your missing..."

Surion laughs "They are over here" he motions on the third floor and then unrolls the first floor again motioning an area "And what did I forget?"

Aurora's tail laid itself on the table but out of the way. It had a mind of its own most of the time. She held her head up with the palm of her hand, and the elbow on the table. She looked at him with thick eye lashes and a very slow close and open of the eyes. "You got a name for this place- or are you going to keep on calling it 'The Club'..."

Surion laughs, he'd expected some kind of architectural thing he'd forgotten "No no, I actually did come up with a name... 'Rhythmos' Greek for the word Rhythm, seems appropriate to me at least" he lets all the papers roll up next to each other once more.

"You know Rhythmos River would be nice as well. It could have several meanings behind the name... Even the initials." She said as she watched him roll up the papers. "You hungry? Dinners on me..."

"several meanings?" he inquires at her suggestion of the addition of hte word River "And yeah, I was waiting for you before ordering my food" he nods and moves the rolls of paper to the bench beside him

"Rivers are eternal... They always flow, and carry on them what is given. The name with the word River could mean Rhythm Eternal, or Rhythm flowing... You know like how Rhythm flows from a song," Aurora smiled as she mused her thoughts aloud. "The initials R&R generally means rest and relax... You know come on in and enjoy yourself. We've got good food, good times... The spirits are high." Her ears flicker as she raises her hand to get them a couple menus.

Surion hummed and hawed over this information in his mind, he wanted something that rolled off the tongue, he also remembered dancing in Nights Portal, it wasn't really restful and he inwardly chuckled at that thought.

"You know you could also put River first. Then it becomes Eternal Rhythm in the meaning... Or just make it Eternal to begin with." She winked when the lady dropped off the menus. She also purred a little louder. She slid him a menu.

He nods still thinking it over as he opens the menu to chose what he was hungry for. "I want to keep it simple one way or another, mostly cause then it's easy to remember and comes to mind just as simply" he looks to Aurora.

"I understand." Aurora settled her eyes on him as she continued to purr. Though she didn't have her menu open her hand was settled onto of it. It looks almost like she would open it any moment.

"The building is outside city, so noise violations shouldn't occur, there is no homes or businesses too close" he tells her then his blue eyes drop back to the menu.

"A fence around the property might not be a bad thing..." Aurora still not open her menu. She actually had not intention. She knew it inside out and then some. "And, if you do then perhaps a nice outside dancing area..."

"Maybe, the building needs to be finished first though. I've contacted contractors and have a meeting with them within the next couple days to go over my ideas and see what's doable within safety regulations and such." He made his selection then closed the menu.

"I really doubt we'll have any problems at all... If it as you say pretty much a vacant area." Aurora nods. "I can help with decorating and lights... Both inside and out when the time comes. Since you've got the plans I'll leave you to it."

She purred when the waitress returned. "Just let Rhine know the usual."

"No I doubt there will be an issue, just have to make sure the building meets code and such" he pauses and looks to the waitress, "A steak please, barely seared, and a side of salad, and a refill of orange juice please" he says before returning his attention to Aurora "Decor and lighting will come after the renovations" he smiles.

Aurora waited for the waitress to take a few notes, and clear the table of their glasses before she spoke again. "I must admit this type of club is a bit different for me," she chuckles. "Not that my mother knows I'm rather fond of a good steel pole," she winks.

Surion laughs "Well, it wont be any form of an erotic club... Dance yes, dancers on platforms, dancers on the floor, loud upbeat music, you know the like."

Aurora chuckles. "Like I said a bit different from what I am use to. But, probably a change for the better." She grinned. "And, trust me I'll know if you tell my mother about that little tidbit..."

He laughs and shakes his head "Not for me to tell Aurora" he leans on the table "Besides I know how she reacts when any time of topic that's away from straight comes up... Sky and I were having an interesting half conversation yesterday."

"Can you blame my mother... If I was 450 years old and had half the stories told to me she did I'd be plumb scared myself." She chuckled. "She's working on it though... At least she keeps company in the bed." She smiled. "... I am the one in the family that has more in my bed than I have fingers. Though at the rate Rhine's going..." She chuckled as her ears flickered.

Surion laughs and shakes his head "Definitely not an innocent kitten are you"

"I'm sure my mother has told you that I am quite hard to get a hold of... I never use the front door. Although I really shouldn't have to with a mirror. But something about standing in my room and well you know. I just like the good old fashion slip out the window. I've been like that since I was chasing butterflies... Before I had this body." She purred.

Surion smiles "Well regardless that's not something that I imagine effects this business that's starting up"

"You mentioned apartments... Naturally assume for employees." Aurora purred. "So, no it wouldn't be a problem. But I've always got my mirror if I need a get away, or a way to get home." She stopped talking the moment the waitress arrived with the food.

"When I worked in the Nights Portal, it was one of the fringe benefits I really enjoyed... So yes, some of the employees will earn that bonus." He pauses his words as well, making sure there was room in front of him for the meal.

Aurora nodded her head and as well cleared her space. She purred as the smell of fish filled her nose. She licked her lips as it was set before her. Her tail flicked in anticipation.

Surion's eyes saw her meal and he inwardly chuckled not surprised of it's contents. Then he looked at his and smiled, "perfect" he says as he slices into the meat, the juices indicating how 'rare' it was.

"Rhine's passion has always been cooking," Aurora chuckled. "Violin was sorta forced on him. He tried my mothers patience in that department." She barely touched the fish and it was in her forks. It separated easily and was very moist. "It is because of that passion that he practically lives in the cafe kitchen... He had a couple other chefs back there, and he could afford more... But like I said. I also think it has to do with the fact he doesn't have any other outlet for his spare time," she chuckled as she took a bite.

He chuckles. "Sounds like it, I'm picky about how the steak is prepared only cause I like the blood in it," he smiles as he takes a bite and chews it.

It takes Aurora a fair amount of time to finish her fish, but she doesn't leave anything on her place. Her ears, and tail flicker as she enjoys the meal. She licked her lips before picking up a napkin.

Surion ate like a typical male, there was only bone and gristle left on his plate when he was finished. He was drinking his juice as she wiped her lips

"Enjoy it?" She purred when she noticed he had finished. She had already assumed he had enjoyed it because his plate was pretty much cleaned. Not that he could see it but she wiggled her toes. "Do we have anything else we need to discuss... Business wise?"

"Yea I enjoyed it as much the last time I ate here.." he pauses finishing his juice and setting the glass down, the combination of his meal with orange juice might seem odd but it didn't bother him at all. "Business wise I don't think so... now i know how to contact your mom, whats the easiest way to contact you?"

"Me," she muses as she motions to chest. "Just find my mother... She'll tell me at the table during which ever meal is most convent." She purred. She wasn't about to let on she had a mirror- she only used it for travel which was fairly rare. She flicked her ears once more as her eyes went for those extended close and open sessions.

"All right, I guess that's easy enough" he thought to himself that he'd just have to remember to give time prior to needing her presence for the message to arrive "Was there anything you needed or wanted to bring up?"

"At this moment... No," she said as she rubbed her ear. She continued to keep her focus on him. "Unless of course you want to show me the building site..."

Surion chuckles "I could but honestly it's just a big building at the moment, nothing all that fancy ... yet" he picks up the rolls of paper from the bench beside him after the plates were taken.

"My sister proposed yesterday... So I am sure our house is about to get turned upside down. Unless of course she manages to run away and elope my mother will make sure the wedding is a big to do. Especially, since it is sorta like one of those long lost return to me ordeals..." She rolled her eyes.

"Oh geez sounds like your house has a handful to deal with" he moves to stand up "But if you want to see the building I can show you."

"Actually it will be Rhine that has the handful..." Aurora snickers. "Then again it might actually tame my sisters temper finally getting laid again after three years." Her tail flickered. "But you are right... My mother goes for grand when she can." She motions to the door. "Property is property no mater what shape it is in... So, lets have a look shall we."

"Okay... meet me outside, I'm going to get rid of this armful first" he indeed had an armful. And with that word he plane shifted out of sight.

Aurora made a stop at the kitchen doors to say a word to Rhine before heading outside. Once she was outside, and just away from the doors she stretched every inch of herself.

A couple minutes later he walked up behind her "Hope you know how to ride" he says not having priory announced his return.

"...I assume its thick and it purrs... Just what this girl likes between her legs. Besides how hard can it be when you are doing the driving... Got a helmet?" Aurora asked with a purr. She chuckles as her tail flickers a couple of times.

Surion laughs "Well lets see" he looks over sizing her up and he walks over to the lava red and black Harley parked to one side and digs into the saddlebags and pulls out a piece of chalk "Well I will if I can find what I need" he glances around for a board or something.

Aurora rolls her eyes as she lets out a low playful growl. "You have a bag like my mothers?" She quickly curiously as she watched him.

Surion laughs "Not really" he flips the bag open, it revealed only a folded piece of paper and a couple odd items "The dragonettes like the saddlebags to ride in." he grabs the nearest chunk of whatever nearby and stoops down drawing a circle with some other designs in it on the ground. setting the junk in it and tosses the chalk back in the saddlebag.

"My mother told me about those little guys," She grinned. "And I noticed you didn't feed them at dinner time..." She held out a container. "So, hope you don't mind..." Though she held out the container she continued to watch him with a generous amount of curiosity.

Surion looks up "Oh, I left them at home, thanks.. I'm sure they'll love it" he grins taking the container and setting on the seat of the bike before putting his fingers on the outter circle and a moment later it lit up and the junk was soon replaced with a helmet.

"Interesting," she said when there was finally a helmet. "So how long will it last? Because with you around... I might need it more than once." She purred. She again decided not to mention the mirror... Even if Surion knew it exist becuase of Ceres... It didn't mean that he had to know about hers even if travel was quicker.

Surion stands up handing it to her "Uh forever?" his eyes turn green and he washes the circle away "The law of equivalent exchange is the founding principle of alchemy.. I exchanged that junk for this helmet" he turns as his eyes return to blue setting the container in the saddlebag and grabbing his own helmet.

"Interesting. No one in my family practices Alchemy," Aurora smile. "We've not use for it with my mothers will. And, when she passes on then it will be the will of Natalia. The money we are using is from sunken ships." She chuckled. "We are rich off of dead mans treasure..." Her ears flickered once before she put on the helmet.

Surion slips his helmet on "I was taught alchemy at a young age, so it's force of habit" he admits as he climbs on the bike, righting it and then kickstarting it, bringing it to life with a loud rumble. "Hop on"

"Dirty boy... You'll make a girl wet herself." She chuckled as she straddle the motorcycle and wrapped her arms around his waist. "And, we were taught of many things... My mother didn't want dumb children."

Surion ignored the first comment, or rather just didn't reply to it, he backed the bike up and then took off down the road heading in the direction of the building he'd bought, and it wasn't too long before she'd see the building with it's land around it, plenty of room for parking and the lot.

Though they were moving a good, fast pace on the motorcycle Aurora was able to memorize the rout they'd taken, and a few minor details of the surrounding area. When she saw the large building coming into view she purred with renewed excitement.

Surion pulled to a stop in front of it and shut the bike off "Well this is it Aurora" he motions the dark building.

Aurora took of the helmet and though she had no hair to shake free, she shook her head regardless. Her ears flickered adjusting once more. Though her focus was on the building she in no time had her tail in her hands and was attempting to groom herself. "Looks nice for starters..." She purred.

Surion chuckles, setting the kickstand and climbing from the bike heading for the doors, keys in hand "Lot of work to be done, this is for certain."

"Nothing we cannot handle... I'm sure of that." Aurora purred as she padded towards the entrance way. Though she was barefoot she didn't pay much attention to where she walked. It was an indication that she was use it and had fairly tough feet.

Surion pulled open the doors and waved her in "Take a look, perhaps seeing it will let you picture the changes I want to make better".

"Yes, it certainly does make a difference. The place is a lot larger than the blue prints let on... At least to me," she said with a tilt of her head, and a slow spin. She wanted to take in as much of it as she could in one good full glance.

"Yeah, it's massive, it's the perfect place I think." Surion leans against the wall allowing her to explore.

"Perfect," she emphasized the 'p' before she purred. She took a couple steps would stop and stare... Take a couple more and look around. She was remembering his blue prints and was visually imagining it. She could occasionally make hand gestures.

Surion pushed away from the wall and followed her "If the contractor and safety guy agrees that wall, that one and the ceiling will be gone" he pointed at several wall and ceilings.

"I don't see why it wouldn't be possible," Aurora said with a nod. "I'm satisfied," she said as she looked at him with a grin. "I think we've got something good going for us..."

"Me too... Hopefully it'll be popular" he smiles "You'll have to forgive me if I decide to not only run this thing but to be a dancer.... I miss doing that" he stuffs his hands into his pockets.

"I don't think I could sit in a stuffy office all shift myself. Though I'll have to learn how to tame myself..." She chuckles. "I might put on to good of a show and give some poor fool a heart attack."

Surion bursts out laughing "That you might Aurora, that you might... was there anything else here you wanted to see?"

Aurora takes hold of her tail and swung it in circles. She put a hand on her hip, and provocatively leaned to one side. She was still well balanced. After a moments pause she shook her head. "Nope."

"Okay, sounds good then... I'll deal with the meetings with the contractor and such.. Unless you need to be there" He glances around and then back to her.

"No I trust you can handle that on your own. I'll take part in decorating, and such... Because that is where the woman's touch is most need," she said with a purr as she headed for the exit. "I can get myself home... You needn't worry."

Surion chuckles "All right.. I'll contact you via your mom when it's closer to completion then or if there's more details to work out" he nods.

Aurora nods her head. "All right then... Maybe I'll luck up and see you at our dinner table some day." She chuckled. "You are part of the family after all." With that she headed off into the night. The last to be seen was the glint of the jewelry on her tail.

Surion watches her leave and then turns and locks up the building before mounting the Harley and soon heading home.

A DJ and a Dragon
Surion poured over several applications spread out over his desk, he'd been sorting them by position as well as if they made the cut to be called or not. He had a serious expression on his face as he worked, after a few minutes he picked up the cell sitting on his desk and dialled the first applicant that truely caught his eye from the disc jockey pile.

Rose fumbled with the receiver as she held the towel in place.

"Heya! Rose speaking." she greeted with a bit too much energy. In the background is the sound of running water and some music in the background that is a little bass heavy.

Just hearing the music in the background made him grin "Hi, Rose Valdez?" he inquires, his eyes still looking at the papers in his hand as he spoke, the sound of which may be audible over the phone, dependant on how much the music and water drowned them out.

"Yep! She is I." She replied with that same enthusiasm and a hint of rhyme to her voice. The brief sounds of movement along a carpet can be heard as she moves, the music easily drowned out the water.

"Can I help you ya Mr...?"

"Surion, you can just call me Surion. You applied to Rhythmos Aetermus for the position of deejay, calling to see if you want to come in and chat" he was business like, yet at the same time, relaxed.

"Ah right, Ya, I can come in I'd just sort of need to clean myself up and put my face on." She replied absently with more sounds of movement and the sound of running water stopping. The techno becomes a little more obvious something by Amin van Buuren. "But I can be there in like a half an hour? that good Surion?" Her voice had a quiver of anxiety to it.

"Yeah, half hour is good, just come into the building whe you arrive, I'll be in the first floor waiting and checking a few thing over" He knew he had to check the final touches of the decor were going well

A half an hour passed and Rose stepped in through the doors of the club looking around. She was dressed up causally in a simple white tank top accompanied some well fitted black pants Set neatly on top of her head at a happy angle was a bowler with ski goggles resting neatly on the brim.

The lights were on, to the left she'd see a woman with bright aqua colored hair unloading bottles of liquor onto glass shelves, and to one side of her a man on a step ladder setting black-light uv bulbs into their sockets. tot he far right she'd see even more people threading dark sheers that sparkled in the lights onto bars that seperated some alcoves. And in the center of the dancefloor a male with long dark blue hair with streaks of silver hairs, he had a long very dark blue tail and a pair of horns and elven ears, this is what she'd notice form behind. He had black jeans on and a bloor red shirt. He had his hands on his hips and was watching a crew of workers hoisting a rather large projection screen onto the wall

Settling on the guy over seeing some of the workers Rose cleared her throat. "Uh can ya point me to Surion?" Her skin shifted from a reflective silver to a dull and cloudy one as her ears drooped a little with the uncertainty in her voice. Up close her face had a distinctive lack of features to it.

Surion slightly startles having been intent on watching he hadn't even noticed the door open. "I'm Surion" he says turning slightly on the spot, the young man did not look to be much older them early 20s tops "You must be Rose?" a silver alchemist pendant swinging against his chest with a small orb above that on a seperate chain. His long bangs covered half his face but the right side of his face was visible and as his hair settled into place a blue gem set dead center of his forhead imbeded in the skin.

"Ah sorry to give you a bit of a start there and ya I'm Rose." She replied with a smile holding her hand out. Her silver skin brightening to a reflective sheen. Her gold and silver eyes take in detail quietly before seemingly losing focus.

"So ummm I'm kinda rusty on the whole interview thing so Iunno what you want but I brought some CDs of my stuff." She said tilting her head to the side and scuffing the floor with her soft leather show.

Surion chuckles and takes her hand for a moment "Don't be too worried, I'm not exactly practised at it myself" he lets his hand drop to side "So lets see, before we worry about the music side of this all, tell me about yourself, your goals in employment" he knew his application form asked some of that, but he'd rather hear it from the person

She gave Surion's hand a brief shake, the contact only lasting long enough for him to realize her skin was rather cool to the touch.

"That's a bit of a relief" Rose said with a grin. The question though gave her some consideration. "Not much of a reason really, I spent time doing all the audio stuff at college and needed a job figured might as well do what ya like ya know? It'd beat getting stuck in a desk job and having to ya know... tone down how I actually look a few notches? Believe it or not people find my nice smooth pretty face unnerving." She added with a chuckle.

"Well I doubt you'd have much problems here with your appearance, I'm not exactly normal myself and neither are some of the staff members I have hired" he motions at the female barkeep with the fin-like ears and a pair of males sitting at one of the tables between the dancefloor and the elevator.

"Eh when you can do some of the stuff I can appearance isn't so much an issue." She replied with a grin. "I just like not having to hide behind glamors not too out there an feeling." She added on glancing at the people he pointed out. No one stranger then the fae courts she had walked in.

"Boss, we're ready to test all this with the soundsystem" A voice rang out from one of the guys who had just stepped down from the ladders at the screen

"Okay, sec" he called back "Shall we see what you can do with music?" he motioned a platform raised up above the dancefloor so the bottom would be about level with the average shoulder, if one looked there was a ladder mounted firmly on one side

Rose nodded and tapped her chin a little in thought. "Okay think I got some stuff I can mix for ya." She said with a smile sliding a case of CDs out of her purse.

He nods and heads for the platform climbing atop it with ease. The soundsystem was large with a ton of dials, various types of drives and a small monitor that was currently blank. He reached and flipped a couple switches that turned it all on. "Have at it" he motioned her to go ahead

Rose nudged herself into place and slid the goggles down over her eyes. With a practiced flair she dug a cd out of the case and slid it into one of the rom trays tapping it lightly to slide it in. She took a moment to tweak a few dials producing a loud thrum to get a feel for the system. That done she began a rather long and complicated tuning process and then started the music, a little too loud at first she dialed back on a few settings in the equalizer to bring it down to her liking. Eventually she had a quick pace techno beat thrumming out through the empty club at the sweat spot volume to not be deafening but to be commandingly audible.

Surion smiles and reaches behind the woman flipping a few switches, first couple shutting off the day-lights and turning on the blacklights that light up the swirling designs on the walls as well as the strobe lights. The next turning on the projectors that hung from the rafters, as it was one of Rose's CDs the screens showed what was coming from several cameras mounted abouts the room. The workarea of the platform well enough lit to allow the deejay to work without distrupting the overall effect.

The silver skinned DJ blinked at the screen and tapped a few controls to test the range of control she had with the lights. Rose focused back to the music those as she tapped out the beat with her foot and tweaked here and there to keep the volume steady as well as mix in another track or two to liven it up a little. Ultimately it flowed well together. "That do it for ya?" She asked just loud enough to glide over the music.

The male moved slightly with the music as it filled the room, he was pleased to see it all coming together. Rose on the other hand would find she had almost complete control over the lighting, as well as what the projectors put on the screens, small dial near the monitor indicating off, cameras or videos. "Yes I think so" he replies over the sound of the music

The mecurial changeling played with the dials spinning eye catching patterns of dancing light pulsing in time to the music. The entire performance was marked by certain fae concepts of beauty with out sense or reason. She catches the reply and grins. "Good to hear." She chuckled, internally though she felt a knot of irrational concern. She could be confident all she wanted on the outside but until she heard you're hired it'd eat at her.

"Okay, lets shut it down and go up to the office, let these guys get back to work finishing up" he reaches and flips the switch to turn the house lighs on again. He had a smile on his face, he was quite pleased with what he'd seen

Rose's ears sunk a little at the mention of turning it off. With a quiet sniff as she pulled herself out of the zone the woman shut down the various sound systems and projectors then ultimately powered down the console itself.

Sliding the goggles back up to her forehead she followed after Surion quietly. She made sure to snatch up the book of CDs before leaving the booth.

Surion led the woman to an elevator and hit the button for the 3rd floor, when it opened at the top the hall before them was only a couple dozen feet long at absolute most, there were 2 doors one to the left one t the right, the right stood open and Surion entered it. Inside was a large office, a desk in the middle but back a bit, a couple closed doors in the room as well. "Have a seat" Surion motins the chairs in front of the desk and drops into his own pulling what Rose would recognize to be her resume/application in front of him

She glanced at the resume as she slid into the seat an ear twitching slightly and her silvery skin darkening to an opague hue. She nestled herself in as best she could and braced herself for the worst on sheer instinct. Her hands spun and turned the cd case over and over as she maintained eye contact.

Surion didnt say anything, not at first at least, he reached in a drawer pulling out more papers, and grabbed a pen starting to fill certain blanks. "Well I can certainly tell you Rose, that was an impressive show you did down there... Think you can repeat it on Friday night next week?" he didn't look up with his question, his long bangs obscuring his expression

"Eh?" Her ears perked up and the tone of her skin brightened to a mirror like sheen. She took a second to collect herself again and think on that question. "I could probably pull off something along the same lines, not exactly the same though. Sort of against how I usually work to do the exact same show twice."

"Good, next Friday is opening night, all renovations should be complete tuesday or wednesday. You saw the workers doing final touches, and the soundtest for the music system proved to be exactly how I hoped." he pauses and looks up towards her from the papers. "Starting wage is twelve an hour, need employees here half our before shift to make sure their work area is ready, it's hard to get things ready in the dark, houselights will turn off five minutes prior to the doors opening..." he stops to see if any questions were there as yet

She listens with a somewhat bemused expression nodding. Her internal dialogue was beating it into her about how lucky she was to have landed the gig and how she couldn't believe her luck. "Sounds good." Her voice is bright and chipper about the arrangement. Her skin continued to catch the light and reflect it back with almost painful intensities.

"Hours are six till three, so you'll need to be here about five thirty, Music selection is due in next thursday, if you want to come in for an hour or two on thursday to sort it out, thats fine, most the music will be accompanied by music videos for the screens, but playing the videos is optional as you saw there are cameras all over the place, which run either independantly or by remote. Your own music tracks are your decision if you wish to bring extras. If you dont want to sort 'em they will be stacked alphabetically into the slots built into the stand." he stops and looks to his papers once more before looking to her once more "Questions?"

"Aiight" She pondered for a moment. "I can get you everything I'll be using by then easy. As to footage I'll probably use the cameras, It'll add a bit of personality to the whole atmosphere." She said with a smirk considering the comments moment after. "Not saying the club is with out a life of its own." Rose added hastily with a grin. Her skin had darkened a little and wasn't reflecting as much light but had taken on a smokey hue. "As to questions any particular bits you want mixed in?" She replied with a grin.

Surion chuckles "Nah, I'm not the DJ here.. you are, just want good music that the patrons will like" he turned the papers and slid them and a pen accross to her, they were an employment contract, outlining everything he had just said plus more details.

She took a couple of seconds to go over the details with an obviously practiced eye before finally scribbling her name down on the dotted line.

"Pleasing the masses is harder then it sounds."

"That it is Rose, that it is" he laughs and takes the pages back handing her a copy of it all. "I used to dance in a nightclub for a living, now I'm running this one with a friend" he clipped the contract and her resume together for his files

Surion & Tourmaline
The weather was nice, in fact it wasnt even very cold, which was good for Surion and good for everything he'd been working on over the prior couple weeks. He'd finished the renovations with the contractor, and finished the decor as well.

He pulled the harley to a rumbling stop just down the street from the clinic, intending to stop at a small cafe for a snack before going to post his notice. He turned the bike off and pulled his helmet off his head shaking out his hair and then climbed off of the bike pulling a clipboard from the saddlebags. He wore his normal belted club pants and today wore a black shirt with mesh sleeves.

Like her father, one of the worst things about the winter was not that she couldn't go outside without wearing a ridiculous amount of layers, but that even with those layers it was rare that she could ride her beloved bike. In the light of the 'warmer' weather on the day of her appointment, the Skullmonkey had chosen to ride her baby and risk death.

The gamble had paid off, sort of.

Currently she sat inside the cafe down the street from the clinic, clasping a piping hot mocha latte in one hand and rubbing her legs to encourage the blood to flow through the still stiff limbs. Today she had decided to tone down the color explosion in favor of her bike gear and her warmest clothes.

Surion steps into the cafe, and stops, his tail resting lightly around his leg, he glanced around, he could see the colorful hair of someone he knew. He walked up to the counter and bought a sandwich and an orange juice and then wandered over to the table with the semi-colorful female at it "Hey there... Tourmaline right?" he greets her

Tourmaline heard her name just moments after she noticed the taller male walking in her direction, and used that time to glean through the dustbunnies of her mind to grasp a hold of the other Clinic-er's name. "That's right, you're Surion, correct?"

She didn't really bother to halt her hand's movements on her legs and instead she motioned to a chair with a head nod. "You can sit down if you want."

"Yeah, I'm Surion" he pulls the chair out setting down everything that was in his hands, the plate with the sandwich, the glass of orange juice and the black clipboard which was closed and had a light silver dragon triskele imprinted on the front. "So how is things going for you?" he inquired "I haven't run into you in a while, last time I believe was on a beach"

Her eyes gravitated to the sandwich first when he sat down, and the teen took a strategic sip of her coffee to hide the expression of distaste. It had been so long since she had eaten meat that the smell sometimes made her feel a bit ill. Today was one of those sometimes.

"Things are good, I'm living with a couple of roommates now that my family's gone. And you?" With a shrug, she took another sip of her drink. Even though she wore layers, the Skullmonkey's face appeared fuller and healthier than the last time they had met. "If I remember correctly, we met last at a club. Nani and I left early that night, though.:

Surion taps his chin "You know I think you're right, too much happened since then. I can remember my life, I've moved back to Gaia, and on top of that I'm starting my own business up too with a friends' daughter" he noticed her glance, it didnt occur to him it might bother her. He takes a gulp of the juice then started in on the sandwich after pushing his hair over his shoulder.

"Well remembering is good, I guess. Even the bad things need to be heeded." She thought for a moment and let her free hand simply rest on her leg before she continued, "What kind of business?" Absently she wondered if the business partner was anyone she knew despite the high odds against that. In Gaia, coincidences seemed to be fairly frequent, after all.

"A nightclub actually, I liked working in a nightclub, so I decided to go out on a limb and make my own, it's allready to go, a few last positions to fill, but it will open tomorrow regardless" he smiles he was proud of the accomplishment

Maybe she did know the business partner then, with her own nightclub connects. Then again, maybe not.

"That's exciting!" Tourma exclaimed, "You must have been busy getting all the inspections and stuff done! What kind of club is it going to be?"

"Oh it is, Aurora Dawn and I have been pooling ideas together and it all came together nicely, it's northwest of Barton in a building we just renovated" He flips open the clipboard and pulls a couple photos out, they were taken with all the lights and projections running. "Ya kinda gotta picture it with people dancing, the DJ is up here tables and such over there" he points at the photos

The teen leaned forward with curiosity to peer at the photographs that he produced. He was right in that one needed to envision the place full of people to get the full effect. The same theory applied to most clubs.

"Nice. You should be proud of yourselves," she said with a genuine smile, which dulled somewhat with an absent thought. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage the funds for such an endeavor?"

"It's co funded actually, plus a mild loan ... Ceres paid for a chunk of it, I had a lot of gold put away, before I was in Faerune I was clearing about 800 bucks a week plus tips, and the only expense I had was Nani's car So I had a lot of money to put away" He nods "We named it Rhythmos Aetermus." He put the pictures away and shut the clipboard "This is actually the club's logo"

Tourmaline nodded and took another sip of her cooling coffee. She understood how people in the service industry could manage to pull in large chunks of money, but she also knew the ballpark costs of starting up one's own business.

The name caused her eyebrows to quirk upwards slightly, raising a bit more when she paid more attention to the logo. "That's a very special name," she finally stated conversationally. There was a long pause while she stared at the logo before she continued. "So uh, what does Rhythma Ateermus mean, exactly?" While she tried, her pronunciation of the name remained poor. "And how does that logo connect...?"

Her curiosity of peoples' reasons never ceased.

"Rhythmos Aetermus, or Rhythmos for short is greek for Rhythm Eternal. And this symbol is called a triskele, it represents the eternal rhythm of life, any of them mean that, I chose one with a dragon because well I'm part dragon so to me it looked cool." He explained

"Oh okay," she replied. "That makes a little more sense."

At that moment, the previously silent cell phone sitting on the table began to blare a ringtone cut of "(I can't get no) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones. Jumping slightly and nearly spilling her coffee, she mumbled an apology to Surion and picked up her phone to read the new text message.

A grin grew slowly as she typed her reply out, and couldn't help but chuckle as she hit the send button. Oh how her roommate was going to kill her.

Coughing, Tourmaline returned her attention to Surion, remembering something he said earlier. "So you said you didn't have all your positions filled and you're opening tomorrow?"

Surion chuckles and finishes his sandwich and juice while she deals with the text message "Oh the positions left aren't essential to opening, so yeah we're going to open tomorrow night" he nods "A couple dancers, some cleaning staff and a couple kitchen staff are mostly whats left"

The mention of a kitchen caught her attention more than the dancer opening did. "What kind of food will a nightclub be serving?" Hopefully it'd be something better than bar food, but one never knew.

"Well I know from my own experience everyone likes something different, so the kitchen will offer a variety of things, but I'd say mostly just about anything that a person wants to order within reason." He explains partly to himself but also to Tourma

"Ah, well no wonder it hasn't been filled yet, seems like you need a really versatile kitchen staff if the options are endless." She said absently before checking the time on her phone, making note that she had about 20 minutes before her scheduled appointment.

"Basically yes, that sums it up..." he glances at her move to check the time "I'm guessing you need to get going?" he asks thinking about somthing at the same time. He reached into his hip pouch pulling out a pen and then he reached in the pouch again aw he waited for her reply

His question caused her to appear slightly embarrassed. "I have an appointment at the Clinic in 20 minutes is all. Just stopped in here to warm up after the ride into town." She didn't want him to think that she was being knowingly rude.

Absently, her eyes followed his hand to the pouch.

Surion laughs "Hey no worry I was just hungry myself I am heading there shortly myself, put up a announcement about the grand opening on the bulletin board" he pulls his hand from his pouch, was the size of a credit card. He smiles and writes on the card before handing it to her "Here..." He intended on giving a couple of these out, mostly to a couple friends as well as one person special to him.

Her eyebrows raised as he wrote her name on the card, and she took it with a grateful smile. "Thanks! I'll come by sometime when it warms up." Cold nights and her metal didn't tend to get along too well to warrant going out at night during the winter.

Finishing her coffee and standing up, she offered another pleasant smile to the dragon. "Well good luck with the opening and it was nice running into you. I need to get going so I can check in

"Sounds good, you have a good afternoon then, and thanks for the visit and the wish for good luck" He smiles as she gets up

With the goodbye, Tourma took care to pick up her phone and tighten her jacket around her before stepping out onto the street. Soon, she disappeared from the store's sight.

Life's little changes
Things were going well for Surion, course his life wasn't exactly what he wished it could be but, he was living his life day by day and moving forward. He daily would pray to all the gods and goddesses he respected, Visha, Kalika & Lo... He was holding hope best he could but there was a point where he knew all he could do was hope, pray and go on with life. This day was no less then usual, he woke, he prayed, did his paperwork from the night prior... There were no days off for Surion, he had to keep busy, just keeping the club running was filling a void, but yet not. The void in his life was impossible to fill even if he were to try.

Surion decided on this day to visit Moira at the depot, he'd seen many new fashions come through his club. He kinda figured it was time to see if there was much updating to his look he could or should do. After all he had been wearing the similar style for a long time with the exception of the time he had spent in Faerun. "Hey Moira" Surion greeted the woman with the crazy style as he entered, he liked this place for it's style, he even could remember the first time he'd really shopped here for work. He heard her greeting and smiled, Surion wasn't looking for anything in particular so when she asked if he was he shook his head and browsed the racks.

Over the next twenty or thirty minutes Surion made a few selections including a leather jacket to wear while riding his bike, all would need some adjustments, but then everything did when it came to his clothing. When it came right down to it Surion felt the desire to try something new, and while he wasn't ready to change his style completely he decided to try something different. Some talking from the store-owner convinced him just what to try, and when he left the depot he not only had new clothes and accessories, but he also had a ring of metal piecing his lower lip to the right side. He felt confident in himself as he mounted his bike and headed homewards.

Renewing connections
It was a normal day for the male, but he had just returned home to the haven from Faerun, visiting his mother and Dragono. As much as he missed being around his mother a lot, it reminded him a lot about the time which he had no memories. She still point blank refused to let Surion fill in all the blanks, each time he tried she would interrupt with more questions about what he was doing with his life or about her latest adventure of sorts with Dragono. It saddened him especially since he did remember everything, but then at the same time he couldn't entirely blame her.

Surion sat at his desk, shooing his fandangle off so he could attempt to focus, his pen end tapping on the desk as he stared out one of the windows into the trees of the forest. He continued to stare out into the trees for nearly twenty minutes before looking down at a scroll of parchement and started writing, he didnt write long, he didn't believe he had to say much for what he wanted. When he was done he rolled up the scroll and whispered letting it go and it flew out the window winking out into invisibility. It was the better part of a day before Surion would look up from his glitchen hearing the sounds of a knock on the door.

Kalyai stood at the door a young girl at her side clinging to her hand, the child had not been in this area before and was being possessive about her mother, sitting on her other hip was a young boy who was sucking his thumb.

Surion opened the door, smiling when he saw them "Aunt Kal, I'm glad you came" he greeted her stepping back so they could enter

Kal steps in setting down the young boy before reaching forward to wrap her arms around Surion in a hug "Surion good to see you, I've been worried, you and your mother have been missing so long." she steps back her hands on his shoulders looking him up and down "Wow you've grown" she muses "These are your cousins... Mykayla and Maxwell"

He returns her hug "It's good to see you too, I know but well... there is an explaination on that one, come... Lots to talk about" he smiles softly at the children.

Senti skitters up to the group and chitters at them Kuyl lazily walked up behind them he too intersted in the noise, since it was usually pretty quiet in the house

"Myka... take Max and go play with your game over there sweety" Kal motions her two children and they listen as both adults moved to the couches and sat down. "Okay so tell me, where have you been, and even moreso, where is your mom?"

Surion spent the next couple hours describing all the things all that had happened during the year or so they were missing and all he'd been doing since his return.

"So your mother is still in this Faerun place then" Kal leans forward some and looks Surion in the eyes

He nods "Yes, she doesn't feel there is any reason to come back, that there's nothing here for her... Aunt Kal I don't regret for one minute coming back to Gaia, finding out my past even if it didn't go as well as one could hope."

She looks thoughtful "I remember your visit to Kazeha when you were young when I taught you to harness the power of your Kersallian side, you caught on fast your mother never took me up on my offer to help her in that regard. She may have had some training in the City though when she went to start her life over before you guys disappeared" she pauses "Does she still use her abilities in this other plane?"

Surion nods "She does, though only a few people even know, Dragono, me and this guy she really likes there named Tenor"

Kal scratches her chin "Well, tell me this Surion, how do you shift planes between this Faerun and here"

The male takes a deep breath and explains to his aunt how he travels from one side to the other

"Thankyou Surion" she smiles and reaches patting his knee

"Of course, she may be my mom, but she's your twin sister" he looks over at the children "I can only imagine, I havent seen my sisters and brother in a long time"

"Selene visits me often, she sometimes mentions you, she misses you, I can take a message back with me if you like" Kal offers

A small smile spreads across the male's face and he looks back to his aunt "I'd appreciate it, I've been so busy at the club I don't get a lot of time to travel or much else"

"Not a problem Surion...." She nods

Surion and his aunt continued to talk for a couple hours before Kalyai told her nephew she had to get her kids home to bed.

"Was really good to see you Aunt Kal, thankyou for coming... really I mean it" he smiles as he sees them to the door

"And thankyou for writing, you eleviated a lot of worries, I missed you, and I miss your mother" she reaches to him and wraps her arms around him hugging him tight before picking Max up once more and heading out the door

Surion watches them till his aunt was out of sight and then heads back inside

Strangers?
Tenor wanders through a town trying to find someone

A young woman, with black hair to the bottom of her shoulder blade... exactly like Shicala when her hair is down, in fact exactly the same height as Shicala too, stands with her back to Tenor's direction at a sign trying to read a map. She wears black jeans that were barely resting on her hips and a single strapped yellow and black zebra stripped tank top that stops just above her navel

Tenor thinking it was his Shic walks up and wraps his arms around her

"Hey!" the female moves to pull away, the strange thing is... she sounds EXACTLY like Shicala. She turns glaring at the male her long bangs covering her forehead

"Woah sorry" he stared down at her "I have you mixed up with someone I think Shic?"

"I think you do" the woman who is nearly identical to Shic replies, her emerald green eyes staring at him "Wait... what?"

"sorry you look and sound like my girlfriend I must have u mixed up my apologizes" he bows slightly praying it wasn't going to get him killed

"Look like..." she stares at him "Wait you are telling me there is someone who looks like me here" a wind kicks up for a moment blowing her bangs around revealing an emerald green gem firmly in her forehead much like Shic's blue one

He looked at her gem then stepped back "yes listen I am sorry ill be leaving"

The woman doesn't reply, nor does she move. She makes no threatening gestures at all, rather a serious curiosity is in her eyes

Tenor runs off in search of his Shic

Soon as the male turns away the woman seems to vanish

Shic on the other hand is sitting in her normal place near the lake

Tenor would wander out that way after a while " hey babe"

Shic looks up "hey there" she replies as she plays with the ring between her fingers, it was off, but she was playing with it as she watched the water

He stands beside here "you don't have a twin do you?" he asked looking at her

"A twin?" she looked up at him with a semi-confused, and mostly unsure expression "I don't know" she says slowly after a few minutes

" I see" he sat down beside her

What neither knew is the female was watching them from downwind Shicala looks at the ring in her fingers "I honestly don't know if I do or not"

" I must of been seeing things then" he turned and watches her in worry "are you okay babe?"

"You know I don't remember all my life right" Shic looks up at him

"yes I know" he looked down at her with soft eyes

Shic nods she smiles weakly

The woman becomes visible slowly floating a couple inches above the ground towards them out of HIS line of vision

He pulls Shic to him "it will all be fine one day babe"

"I imagine so" She takes a relaxing breath and leans against him

"Well that explains it" The woman who was definitely even more then a fluke of appearance says, all told the only differences was she bore absolutely no draconic parts, and her eyes and gem were green rather then blue

Tenor wrapped his arms around her "it will be okay I promise" he held her close looking out to the water wondering what was going on

The woman floats up to them stopping just barely behind them watching and trying to figure out what to say

Tenor leans down and kisses Shic slightly "don't let it get to you babe"

Shic nods and then notices a shadow across them and looks up over her shoulder, her expression becoming stunned

Tenor jumped an pushed Shic behind him protectively

The woman's brow's raise at the suddenness "Well, it explains why you wrapped your arms around me" she chuckles "Wow, I wondered where you vanished to" she was no longer looking at the male with her second sentence

Shic stands up trying to peer around Tenor

Tenor relaxed slightly blushing a bit he moved to the side letting Shic see

"Do I know you?" Shicala stays softly after a moment

The woman crosses her arms "You should, after all, you are my twin sister" she pauses and glances at Tenor "I'm sorry I should introduce myself, I'm Kalyai"

" I wasn't seeing things" he shook his head reaching back for Shic

Shic moved closer to Tenor a look of confusion on her face "Sorry, I... don't remember you"

Kal's brow raises "Surion mentioned that... it explains a lot...."

"you're her twin?" he asked a it processed

"What, my looks don't give it away? She disappeared from Gaia lil over a year ago, didn't know where to till recently" Kal stands with hands on her hips

"yeah the looks give it off" it finally clicked he tightened his grip on Shic's hand looking down at her

Shicala looks up at him and then to the woman again "Sorry I really don't remember my past at all"

Kal tips her head in curiousness "Really, ok" she taps her chin

Tenor steps back behind Shic his hands never leaving her body

Kal smiles "I'll find you again soon I need to explore some thoughts and talk to the Wisen council" she nods and vanishes with a pop

Shica blinks "That was odd... was I imagining that?"

"if u were then we both were" he looked down at her

"Wow" she whispers softly and leans against him

Am I ready To Move On
The mail Surion had sent his friend may have been odd compared to other mail, a sealed scroll that would persistantly tap the shoulder of the person it was sent to no matter their location, and be invisible to all but the one it was addressed to until it was taken hold of, once opened though anyone could read it. It was short, simple, didnt need much in details, just a request for a visit and the address to his home so she could find it. It was the selfsame address she'd given him when she helped him dig intot he unexplained memories several months before.

Ceres fingers tapped idly on the rolled parchment. The other hand pressed against her chest as she took a deep breath. Though she willingly and longingly prepared for aging she had never expected what came with it. She pulled out her mirror and as the seconds passed by she thought of the destination... She doubted she would be able to travel much longer. Sky having had previous plans and Natalia having a baby sitter would not be traveling with her today. She thought of taking one of her other children but decided against it since this mater seemed personal... She hoped Surion wouldn't mind her using his site... Only problem was that she couldn't actually look at him.

Surion sat on his couch gazing out one of the large windows that took up 90% of hte wall looking out into the forest, he was waiting for her, he didnt know if she'd come out in one of hte several rooms inside the house or actually be outside and knocking on the door.

Despite the fact of not having sight she did have centuries of practice and without problem arrived safely in the bathroom sitting on the sink as usual. She dangled her long legs for a moment as she felt for the floor. Standing there and feeling vulnerable she felt around for the door knob... Finally. She exhaled a breath she didn't know she had been holding.

Surion's keen hearing picked up movement and he turns his head looking towards his bathroom on the second floor, he knew none of this companions was ever in the bathroom so he could only assume. He stood and walked up the stairs to the landing before calling out "Ceres, is that you?"

"Yes," she said in a soft voice that only came with age. She stood there unmoving- her stillness would be nearly unnerving to those who didn't know her. She at the moment was not willing to move. "Just me..." She added hoping that he would offer his site and she wouldn't have to ask... It felt a bit embarsing at times to have to reply on people.

"Only you?" he says nothing more for a moment but walks along the walkway stopping at the bathroom door glancing over her shoulder and then looking at her. He remembered what she had once mentioned about not using other's sight without their ok and after a moment spoke "Kinda hard for you to navigate a place you've never been before without sight... if you need to see .... by all means do it"

A smile quickly came to place on Ceres' face. She felt a hundred percent better that moment she could see around her... For that moment she got to feel how Natalia must feel when she was dragged out the door and into a world she couldn't see. "Thank you!" It took her a moment to gauge but shortly via assumption and sound she placed where Surion was and turned to face him.

His vision would reveal his home, very much open with a LOT of windows, they were on a landing that overlooked the first floor at that point. "Not a problem, come, lets go to the living room" He turned and headed back to the landing glancing back at her

"You've got a nice place," she said as she observed what she saw of his place through his eyes. "And, if you keep looking at me like that I'll have enough time to freshen up from travel." She chuckled.

Surion bursts out laughing and heads down the stairs and intot he living room dropping onto one of hte comfortable couches

Having gotten a quick glance of the living room she picked what looked to be a decent and comfortable chair. She crossed her legs at the ankles and made sure what she wore covered what it was suppose to. She couldn't remember a time she'd been so self conscious- and didn't know if it came with age or with the recent growing affections she had for Sky... Or if it was just the fact that she was alone. She knew though that no harm could come to her because Surion wouldn't allow it and also that she could get through the mirror quicker than you could snap your fingers.

"How have you been?" She finally asked after a moment of silence.

"Overall ok I suppose, I haven't talked to Nani since the day she gave me back my memories, I can only guess it means she wants to move on. It's a lil harder for me to move on, I finally got in touch with my aunt again, havent seen her since before the accident..." he pushes his hair out of his face as it had been obscuring part of his vission.

Ceres' smile falters after a moment of feeling his tension. "Well it's good to know that you've got your memories back but I cannot help but feel that somethings bothering you... Want to talk about it?"

"Ceres, I never considered moving on in my own life from Nani, I think the one time I talked about what would happen without her in my life when I had my memories... I talked about leaving here, going to the cliffs, to my father's homeland... but thats not an option, I dont really get along with dad after the last time we'd seen each other, and both my grandparents passed away... Not to mention I run Aetermus with Aurora Dawn now too" he sighs after blurting this all out

"You know if this isn't a life you want or you think you need a break my home is always open. We've briefly discussed your beliefs and I'm not telling you to deter from them... But let me ask this... If Nani was dead would your race require you to never love again- to never live again?" She twirled her finger idly in her hair. "More importantly would Nani want your life to cease?"

Surion was silent for a time "During the wars when Nani was missing a few females from teh cliffs felt I should move on, and somehow I doubt she'd want my life to cease...." he pauses "I just don't know if my heart is ready to move on, she owns it, even if she doesn't want it"

"Not today, not even tomorrow... but eventually the time will come." She sighed softly and uncharacteristically drew out a 'blink'. "I mean it- our home is open to you. Maybe a bit of a get away where it is just you and nature would be a good thing... And, Aurora Dawn is talented enough to manage the club in your absence."

He nods, "we'll see, for now I just have to figure out if I'm ready to move on, she'd been my whole life... well the part of it I knew my life in at least" he looks to Ceres "Does that make sense?"

"Makes perfect sense," she said softly. "Remember I have a son who just recently divorced and amazingly found love. So, life's out there." She rubbed her arm idly. "It all just takes time... Like I said no one expects tomorrow."

"Did he feel he could ever move on or love someone again after the divorce, and better yet, was the diorce his decision or something he just had to go along with" he fidgets with a lock of his long hair

"I never really pressed him for details of his divorce, but I believe it was mutual and that they just grew apart. I do know though that she is the one that up and left and with little to no warning unless of course you just looked at the signs of where things were going." She paused for a moment as her fingers found their way back to the ends of her hair that was puddled in her lap. "Rhine is well Rhine... He's a hopeless romantic so he has the ability to find love... But, I am pretty sure at one point he did feel hopeless... He just doesn't let people in on it."

Surion nods "I see, my aunt wasnt of much help in this topic, she's extremely set in her Kersallian ways, being a Wisen doesnt help in that though... Sorry to dump all this on you Ceres... I just need a friendly ear. Thats all"

"I don't mind at all... You are like my son." She grinned. "And, trust me your problems are a breath of fresh air compared to what I normally deal with..." She chuckled as she thought of all her daughters. "Remember you have to do what's best for you."

"Are they really that simplistic in comparison.... they don't feel as such." He quirks a single brow at that thought, he felt they were a lot more complicated.

"With seven girls you wouldn't believe the drama," she chuckled. "Especially when each has their own direction in life. I'd say about the only thing six of them have in common is womanly troubles... Natalia's a bit to young for that." She leaned back into the cousins and looked to the ceiling even if that wasn't what she was looking at all since she was using Surion's eyes. "I hate to press but Surion just how many of your 'traditions' do you actually practice?"

"What do you mean, how many traditions?" he leans forward his elbows resting on his knees.

"Do your people not have certain practices they follow... I believe you mentioned to me once about if you had sex that was marriage... those types of things. How many do you practice?" She was again looking at him even if she wasn't.

"Oh, well choosing a mate in that manner and such is part of the dragonic side of me, it's been a long time since I practiced such, really long... To be honest the only part of a relationship dragonic or kersallian I've practiced in like two years, is staying faithful to one mate alone" he sighs.

"Then what are you holding onto?" She stood up and stretched. Lately she found herself restless and hardly stilled- it frustrated her but there wasn't much she could do but give into it. "And, don't tell me hope... or that one chance in a million that she'll come back to you."

Surion opened his mouth to reply and then shut it when she said the second part of her words, he looks at his hands, two fingers playing with the gold band around his one middle finger.

"In a way we have something in common... a fear of that unknown variable where we clutch to what exists in the now or then that was comforting." She sighed and sat back down. "She is no more likely to come back than I am to have sex..."

"Would have been easier in my life right now, to not have all my memories" he says rather quietly, still not looking up from his hands, his eyes fixated on the golden color between his fingers.

"Moving on isn't an easy thing but then again nether is scaling a mountain." She tangled her fingers around the end of her braid. "You know what... Let's assume this 'mess' is a mountain... are you going to be man enough to climb it- over come it or not?"

He stiffens for a mere second her words touching an instinctive male nerve... pride. He looks at her in silence for a long time before saying even one word "Could you... in my shoes do it?"

"I cannot answer that one because I myself am to scared to love in its entirety... It is one of the many walls my mother instilled in me to keep me alive and to break the cycle of our people." She sighed and stood up again this time pacing a bit to the right. She was counting of course in her head how many steps she had taken. "But, Rhine can tell you it is possible to move on- to love again."

Surion says nothing, he looks at his hands again, his vision somewhat blurry, he holds the ring between two fingers before slowly pulling it off

"It's never easy but it can be done." She says as she turns back around to return to her seat. She kept what she saw a silent- private moment between them... A moment that didn't need words. "I'll make you a deal."

Surion lifts his hand that was now wrapped around the golden item and uses the back of it to wipe his eyes a bit as he looked towards her "Whats... whats that" he asks.

"You promise me to make an honest effort in moving on and I'll aid you in such task. There isn't anything monetary I cannot offer." Her head tilted till it appeared that she was looking at the floor.

Surion takes a deep breath "I can try" he says after a moment of silence.

"Try is all I ask and all you can do," she says with a smile. She stretched again as she stands- never had she felt so human, so miserable. If only she had aged the natural way. She sighed softly and after a moment replied, "You'll see... In the end that you will be in a better place."

Surion nods still clutching the ring "There's no way to saying it'll be easy, I already know it wont be" he pauses "Kinda like when I was a kid... but different at the same time."

"There isn't any challenge that's a piece of cake," she chuckled. "If there were then it wouldn't be a challenge." She shifted again and stretched. "Perhaps you should put that ring up for safe keeping... Some place where you won't be tempted for a peek every chance you get."

"Yeah...." he looks at his hand again "I will, with some other things that need to be put away as well" he takes a breath, and wipes his eyes once more

Ceres closes the distance between them and after wiping the rest of the tears from his face hugs him like she would one of her children.

Surion gives her a weak smile and returns her hug "Thanks Ceres, I'm glad I have someone I can talk to who knows something about whats happening here"

"I told you I would be here for you anytime..." she says as she gives him one of those motherly smiles. She traces along her arm until she comes across one of her upper arm bands. It takes her only a couple of seconds to remove it. "Here," she says as she holds it out for him to take. "Use this as a reminder of what you've promised... and what is to be gained by that promise."

Surion looks at what she held out then reached his empty hand and takes it with a nod

"It isn't anything like normal jewelry," she says more as an after thought. "Once on your arm the open ends will come together and the band itself will adjust to the size of your arm." She grinned.

Surion nods listening to the words his friend spoke before slipping it over his right hand and onto his upper arm marvelling silently about it's change "Ceres I have a question for you" he speaks up after a moment

"Yes," she says as she heads back to the chair to sit down again. Having already memorized the chair from previous 'ups and downs' it only takes her a moment to get comfortable.

"Would you consider accepting if I asked you to be like a second family for me, I dont really have family in Gaia anymore 'cept my aunt, I havent seen my sisters or brother or anyone else in a long time" He looks towards her letting his hands rest in his lap

"I already consider you a son," she smiles. "That in itself should tell you that I consider you family... And, if I consider it then so does Sky and our eight children." She sighs softly but contently. "And, I really wish you wouldn't look at me... It doesn't do this old woman any good." She chuckled.

Surion laughs and shakes his head "You arent that old" he looks at the clock "Damn almost time to go into the office"

"I am 450 years old... That makes me an old hen and you the spring chicken." She chuckles as she nods her head. "Have a good evening," she says as she pulls out her mirror. "Oh, before I go," she said with a laugh as she pulled out a container of sandwich meat. "Almost forgot..."*

Surion quirks a bro and takes the container openig it and for the first time since she arrived cracked a genuine smile and cracked up laughing

"Wouldn't want them to think that I forget." She chuckled. "And, now I'll take my leave." And with she was gone."

Surion smiles and sets down the container for the anxious dragonettes and heads to get ready for work

Keeping promises
After work that night Surion brought his paperwork home, he had things he wanted to do before he could change his mind and back out. Upon arriving home he parks the harley and enters his home, he drops his keys and hangs his cloak near the door. He pauses briefly to check on the dragonettes who were both curled up on an armchair in the living room asleep. He smiles then climbs the steps to the bedroom and takes a deep breath.

Surion looks around the room and then reaches up to the bright red plushie atop the shelves and sets it on the bed, he collects the shirt he'd put away, the chocker with the pendant, adding them to the pile. The male thinks for a while before leaving the room and wandering down two flights of stairs unlocking and entering his lab. He gathers some supplies soon creating a chest using his alchemy skills. "That should do it" he says to himself as he hefts it and heads back to the bedroom closing hte lab door behind him.

Once back in the room he sets the items into the chest neatly, he walks to closet pulling it open and pushing his clothes to one side unhooking the gown that still hung there, he looks at it taking a deep breath and then brings it back to the chest folding it neatly inside. The last thing the male adds to the pile is the rings before closing the lid and locking it.

Surion stares at the box for a while lifting his left hand running it along the band encircling his upper right arm before lifting the chest and leaving the room. He walks through the house till he reaches the pool room and sets the chest down. He pulls from his pocket a piece of chalk he'd taken from the lab and starts drawing on a wall, soon a alchemic circle existed on the wall and Surion uses it to open the wall. He sets the chest inside and the key to the chest with it. Once done this he closes the wall once more and his eyes turn emerald green as he washes off any remaining chalk from the wall before turning and going up the steps to the office.

A Part of the Family ~ Part 1
It was well before the club doors would be opening for the nightly crowd that Tinker appeared in her sisters 'housing unit'. She hadn't come in a way normal to any other but her family and those close to the family. She wasn't here to see her sister although she'd make it a point to... She was here to give Surion something. She wondered out into the hall to find the elevator. She was smart and had memorized her mothers directions quickly.

Surion was standing behind the bar with the fin-eared barkeep Silvia, immersed in a conversation about stock and possible new types of drinks that could be ordered. The bar didnt have the same visual effect as it did when the nightclub was open as the lighting was just the day-lights and not the black lights.

Tinker cleared her throat as she sat down on one of the bar stools. She wasn't going to shout hey you or something else to get attention because she didn't want to come off as rude. She could wait if she had to so long as she eventually got to speak to Surion. While she waited she continued to take the place in while it was fully lit... She still didn't think she could ever come here when it was busting at the seems with people and the music was going full force.

Surion's pointy ears caught the clearing of the throat and looks over, the light of the overhead lighting catching the ring on his lower lip. He motions a one sec and then turns back to Sylvia. He speaks with her for a couple more minutes and then she took her clipboard heading for the store-room to prepare her order. Surion turns his attention back to Tinker and wanders over "Hi" he wasn't sure he recognized her "What can I do for ya."

Tinker gave a wicker that held slight disappointment. However, she didn't expect more from him since after all she herself had only caught glimpses of him when he came to visit their island home. "This is for you," she said as she sat the package containing his mirror on the counter.

Surion's brow visibly lifted a bit as he took the package she was passing him "For me?" he looks at her then the package starting to open it up.

"Would I give it to you if it wasn't for you?" Tinker snorted as she rolled her eyes. She was beginning to wonder what her mother saw in this boy that she would 'claim' him as family.

"Well I suppose that's true now isn't it" he lifts a hand pushing his long bangs out of his face, both blue eyes now visible as he returned to pulling the package apart, he'd missed the sarcasm in the words.

Inside the package was the mirror that Ceres had promised him at their last meeting. "It's really simple," Tinker said as she folder her arms and propped herself up on the bar. She wasn't intentionally flaunting a nearly naked chest. "You just picture the mirror in the place you wish you go and you go..."

Surion drops the wrapping into a nearby trash while turning the mirror over in his other hand looking it over "Do you have to know what the place looks like..." he questions, looking up from the mirror towards her quickly diverting his eyes upward away from her chest.

"It helps," Tinker said with a chuckle. "When you haven't got that much of clue you take a chance of ending up in an awkward position... Like for instance... You know want to go to my bathroom but you don't know what it looks like... Which in turn means you don't know what the mirror looks like. Your more than likely to end up tumbling into the tub rather than standing pretty like in the center of the bathroom."

Surion chuckles "Guess I better hope if I ever try and go to a bathroom I dunno what looks like.... the tub better be empty" he grins.

Tinker chuckled and sat up to take a moment to stretch. "We've all ended up in one situation or another that could be described as scandalous or crazy... Especially when we show up announced."

Surion laughs "I heard your mom took a bit of a tumble coming out a mirror in Faerun when my mother called upon her" he sets the mirror down and leans on the counter.

"Until you get the hang of it expect to take more than a few tumbles," Tinker looked at Surion for a moment before spinning around in her chair. "By the way Ceres expects you at the house tomorrow at noon sharp," she said matter of factly as she slid off of the bar stool.

"Noon tomorrow?" he tips his head slightly his long bangs falling back into his face as he questioned her.

"Yes," she said as she looked over her shoulder. "Although she said sharp if you are a minute or two late I don't think she'll get all that fussy... She is on the slow side these days."

"Sounds good then, hopefully I'll get this thing right on the first try" he smirks slightly and picks the mirror up looking at it again, and even then wondering why on earth Ceres would be looking for him to show up at her home... he guessed he'd find out soon enough though.

"Farewell until next time," Tinker said as she headed back across the dance floor to the elevator. She was more than happy that this meeting had not taken all that long and that the place was still more than empty as she was making her exit.

"Likewise" Surion nods and waves as she leaves before turning and heading upstairs to his office, mirror in hand.

A Part of the Family ~ Part 2 (Birthday Surprise)
Surion's alarm sounded the morning after the delivery of the mirror to the club, he stretched and rolled from his bed. He showered and used said shower to wake up, for it was nearly 10:30 by the time he had gotten up, oh the joys of running the club. By five minutes to noon he was ready, and gathering up Kuyl and Senti and the mirror, the only real place he could recall of her home at that moment was that squishy front entry.... which he did his best to picture considering it had been jam packed full of people last time he was there.

Ceres was busy drying her hands off on the kitchens dish towel when she looked up. Even if she was slowing down and was not as 'strong' as she use to be she never missed a beat about her island... Especially when it came to her home. With the lift of her head there was only the briefest of scrambling bodies. She smiled and headed down the hall to the very last room. Stepping out of the way of the opening she opened the door.

Surion had managed the location he wanted........ sorta, but when the door opened they wouldn't see him... till they looked down, he could master plane shifting he had been sure he could do this too...... apparently not as easy as it had been let on, for he was tumbled on the floor, both dragonettes atop of his head.

Ceres smiled and clapped her hands together in delight once she caught site of Surion. "Bravo!" She chuckled and extended her hand. "Up we go..."

"Okay that wasn't what I intended" Surion says looking up at Ceres and then taking her hand as the dragonettes took the liberty of hopping off of his head and scampering past Ceres, seems they had decided to explore.

Ceres cleared her throat and smiled most pleasantly. "It happens to even the best of us." She took a moment to brush Surion off and then motioned him down the hall. "Come, come..."

The male ran his fingers through his long bangs as Ceres fussed with the rest of his appearance. "To you as well?" he inquires as he follows her motioning hand.

"Yes, even me," she said with a laugh. "Remember I wasn't always as old as this... I had to learn as well." She sighed softly. "My first time through a mirror was actually accidental... So you can imagine my landing. And, that was during the time I had not yet learned to harness my willpower to give me site and run the island."

"Oh dear, sounds like quite an adventure, I didn't think I would have a problem with it since i plane shift all the time... But anyways, I was told you wanted me to come visit around noon, so here I am" he nods.

"Yes, here you are..." she said as she came to a stop at the end of the hall. "Right through here," she motioned him to the kitchen/dining area.

The entire house even this room appeared to be empty which was a rarity. There was always at least one person other than Ceres around and being busy or noisy to make themselves known.

Surion enters the room, he'd noticed the quietness, a stark difference then his last visit when all had crowded the entry moments after they arrived "I"m glad you didn't pick much earlier... only got up a couple hours ago, with the late nights at the club and all I'm not exactly an early bird."

"I have no choice but to be an early bird," Ceres said as she seated him at the front of the table. At the moment she had him seated everyone began to pile into the kitchen with Aurora Dawn in the lead holding a birth cake with a random amount of candles. They all began to sing happy birthday the moment the lights went out.

Surion had been about to reply, he could imagine she was an early bird, after all she had a young child to raise. He hadn't expected the wave of people entering the room, let alone what happened next, he sat in stunned silence, a slow grin spreading across his lips as the surprise wore off.

As the song died down the sound of chairs scraping against the floor could be heard. Everyone was taking their seats. The lights still had not been turned on.

"Forgive the small forest fire... We weren't sure how many to put on the cake... So everyone put a candle on," Aurora Dawn said as she sat the cake down in front of him.

Surion laughs at the proclamation of the 'forest fire' being a part of his cake, he'd completely lost track of the date and didn't even realize until that moment it even WAS his birthday. With a grin he informs Aurora Dawn he was four years before pushing his bangs over his ear and out of his face to blow out the fire.

"Maybe you'll manage to get an extra wish since your blowing out twice as many candles," Aurora Dawn said with a wink.

Surion laughs as all the candles wink out save one, which he blew out quickly. "Maybe ... maybe... not that I have any idea what to wish for, least for myself anyways" he looks at them with a smile.

Everyone clapped and cheered as all the candles where blown out. Once the excitement had died down just tinge the lights came back on- not that it was entirely dark to begin with.

"It's more rewarding when you wish for something for someone else other than yourself," Ceres said with a smile as she motioned to the cabinets- plates and silverware flew towards them eagerly.

"I'll have to think on that one" Surion sits up a lil more allowing for all the plates and silverware to land on the table. "Aurora Dawn did you tell your mum, or someone else tell."

"Tell my mom what?" Aurora Dawn asked innocently enough as her mom motioned for the knife to begin cutting the cake.

"When my birthday was" he grins. He didn't believe her innocence, especially with the answer she'd just given him, not in the least.

"I might have let a little something slip," Aurora Dawn chuckled. She picked up the fork next to her plate and took a bite of the cake.

"Hush up now and eat up..." Ceres said with a chuckle.

"Okay okay" he looks a lil sheepishly towards Ceres before plucking up his own fork and moving to eat, both his pendant and the orb hanging from the chains around his neck swinging against the black tank top he wore. The whole thing reminded him he needed to also go visit his mother, but he'd do that later.

Ceres took a couple bites of cake but didn't even come close to finishing her piece. She sighed contently but tiredly. "I'm not as peppy as I use to be," she said with a yawn. "So, you'll have to excuse me..." Before she left the room she left a small, well wrapped package on the table.

Surion watched her leave, a look of concern in his eyes as she disappeared around the corner "She going to be ok?" he asks none in particular out of the group.

"She's slowing up," Rhine said as he covered Natalia's ears. When she didn't make a move to protest it was made aware that this was something common. "The older Natalia gets the less of our mother there is. By the time she is a teenager she'll be able to take on her own mirror and form her own network- which means all of ours... yours included will have to be redone. Shortly after that Natalia will have to learn to focus all of her will power to control and maintain this island. When that is achieved then our mother's job is done and she can finally rest..."

"Sky's the same way because he's bonded to Ceres," Aurora Dawn said with a sigh as she ate the last bite of her cake. "But, they are happy and ready for this."

"Oh...." he bites his lower lip with one of his sharp incisors lightly, he felt like he had just stirred up something that was dreaded when he asked about Ceres.

"She wasn't meant to live this long," Sky said with soft sigh. He leaned on the wall just inside the kitchen. "She was meant to be born, to grow up, to have a child, to raise the child, and then die... It's harsh, but it's what Maidens are born for." He gave a gentle whicker- no matter how human he may have come to look he still had a lot of Equine in him. "It is just under special circumstances that she has come to live this long..." He smiled. "Do not be sad for us... Everything fades when its time has come."

Surion nods "Just one of those things I guess... most of my family is very young, even my mother has a long long time before she'll even come close, I met a wisen once from the hidden city, he was nearing a hundred, didn't look any older then mom" he sighs.

"We are 450 years old, and way past prime," he said with a chuckle that turned into another whicker. "By the way... Happy birthday," he said as he turned to make his leave. "I'll leave this party to the young."

"Thanks Sky, and say thanks to Ceres for me, she didn't really give me time to say anything" he turns to the others once Sky too had left.

"Well open it!" Natalia said as she finally decided to pry her brothers hands from her ears. It was bad enough that she couldn't see most of the time...

Surion turns open the gift a couple times in his hands, eyeing the young Nat and then with a grin on his face he pulled the corner of it, tearing the wrapping with a 'playful' flourish

Natalia clapped in delight at the opening of the paper. She couldn't help herself but to help in the opening of the gift.

Everyone in the room laughed at the delight of the youngest in the family rather than scold... Being use to everything being a family evening they'd wait until they saw how Surion reacted.

Surion just chuckled as Nat helped in the opening, he didnt mind, not in the least. He could remember opening things as a child and inhis mind it was certainly more fun for the kid then for an adult.

Natalia was still trying to rip into the package despite the fact that the wrapping paper was already gone. Realizing that they were done she giggled and started to giggle again. "Open it!"

Surion kept his eyes on Nat as he pulled open the lid and then looked into the box one it was fully open.

"Mom thought you'd like a second so you had a pair... Something about they function better that way." Aurora Dawn said as she motioned to the bracelet in the box.

"Function better as a pair? Do they do something specific?" He asks curiously as he turns the box over letting the bracelet drop lightly in his hand and then set the box aside.

"They make designs," Natalia said having felt hers a thousand times and how they always felt different. "Like everything else it just takes a little thought."

He nods turning the band of metal over in his hands a few times. He smiles, hell it felt good to have someone think about him and involve him in something like this... Not to mention take the time to plan a surprise for him. He'd not really noticed change in the one he already had, but then he didnt really think that it would.

"I've got one for you," Aurora Dawn chuckled. She pulled the narrow, slightly heavy package from under the table. "It really isn't much considering our buisness."

Surion sets the band down for the moment and looks to her "Never the value that counts, it's the thought behind it" he smiles

Natalia clapped in delight at the prospect of getting to help to open another package.

Aurora Dawn nodded her head and grinned. "Hope you enjoy it!"

"Help me out Nat" Surion grins putting it between them, he could tell the pleasure she was taking in the whole thing

"Fun, Fun!" Natalia squealed as she put her hands on the package. She however waited to start tearing until she heard him make the first move... This was his gift afterall.

Surion grins and pulls the edge of it along the length. Knowing she'd help in her own way.

With that Natalia was all over the gift and helping to unwrap it. It wasn't the contents of the package that she was excited about it was just the fact of getting to unwrap it. She loved how the packaging made so much noise.
