Celebor nodded slowly. "But I don't know anybody else who makes swords," he pointed out quietly. "But yeah, I think I'd like one better from somebody who likes Mommy. That would make it special, wouldn't it?"
He finished his dinner and crossed his legs on his chair comfortably. "Maybe Mommy knows somebody else who works with a big fire," he commented.

Earendil and Tinuviel both laughed at that. "Well, it's the thought that counts," Earendil grinned at her. "Your cousin did a good job of it, though. I'm impressed, as far as I know, Mother's the only other one who's stood up to him that way before."
Tinuviel nodded agreement. "Though I've seen Daeron come close," she added.

"Well she might know," Lore nodded, "There might be someone in the city."
After all he was sure Ruel wasn't the only one if he worked at the castle. The swords wouldn't be for everyone, and there had to be someone in the city that could also work with metals.

Lin nodded with a giggle, she was sure if she had to, one day when she was older she would. Right now though there wasn't enough of a reason for her to do so, not if he was going to behave later.
"Celebor is Celebor, that is what Mommy says."

Celebor's eyes grew wide. "There's a whole city here?" he asked, surprised. "Wow ... I thought it was just the castle! It's plenty big though, lots of places to explore!"
He paused. "Do you think," he asked quietly, hopefully, "that Mommy would let me explore the city too?"

"Really?" Earendil raised one eyebrow curiously. "And just what is that supposed to mean?"
He had no idea what his cousin was like, after all.

"Not without someone to guide you," Lore murmured, "But I'm sure your mother would let you as long as there was something who knew the way."
Since he was sure the city was big, and while he was under the impression it was safer than Gaia, better make sure he doesn't get lost.

"Well.. he is just as he is, or something like that," Lin replied trying to figure it out herself, "I think that was Mommy's way of saying she didn't know how to talk about him."
Because that didn't even make much sense to her.

Celebor nodded. "Yeah, Mommy doesn't let me go to the market by myself either," he shrugged. "But that's okay. I can go by myself when I'm bigger."
He grinned. "Maybe Mommy will take me to the city here, too!" he suggested brightly. "But I wanna finish exploring here first!"

Earendil laughed at Lin again and pushed his empty plate away. "Well, maybe we should take him up the mountain with us tomorrow," he suggested. "You said you wanted to go there ..."
A mischievous glint appeared in his eye, and he added, "You have to climb yourself, though."

"That sounds like a good plan," Lore nodded, "Just don't forget to tell your mother ahead of time that you'd like to explore the city sometime."
That way Elnara had fair warning in case she wanted to go see her brother Gion.

"Of course," Lin replied back, "I'll make it, evenually."
Besides she knew Earendil couldn't really take her up the mountain, but she was sure later she could find a way to get up there with help.

Celebor nodded excitedly and reached across Lore to tug on Elnara's sleeve. "Mommy!" he called energetically. "Mommy! Sometime when we're here, can I go see the city? Can I? Please?"
Elnara turned and smiled at Celebor, and though her expression was calm her voice was still a little shaky as she replied, "Of course. Sometime." And she nodded shortly.
Then she looked up at Lore. "Would you like to go tomorrow?" she asked him softly. "It would get us out of the castle for a bit, we could see my mother's parents ... and give people here a bit more time to get used to my presence again."
She said the last bit quietly, thinking about Ruel.

Earendil nodded and smiled easily. "I'm sure you will," he replied confidently. Then he asked, "Is there anything else you wanted to do before bed tonight?"
It was getting late, after all ...

Lin thoguht about it for a minute and shook her head, "WE can see Sir Valdemar tomorrow right?"
Since they were going ot see him after supper, but the dinner had extended much later than Lin realized it would. She supposed it was because her Elnara-sissy had come back.
