Well the expansions let me play, but the game kept crashing every 10 mins. stare
Is that like an achievement or do you mean the pop-up that says a random nation has discovered Japan?

You have no control over that event. It just happens for a random European nation around a certain time. Sometimes it's even a landlocked nation that gets it. razz
It's possible it's the save and not the game. I'll test it later. confused

I rarely tend to get that, so I have to explore all of Asia using conquistadors and explorers. But, at least I get some traditions with that. biggrin
If I can colonize the Philippines and then have a center of trade there, it would be great since I can trade with everyone else in the region. Even with Ming, Korea and the Japanese. 3nodding

You can probably trade with them if you get high enough relations. It's probably easier to take one of the existing centres of trade than to make a new one, otherwise they take wealth away from each other.

I'm glad they changed infamy in EUIV. Now your relations with nations relevant to the conquered province get a penalty. So much easier to offset that or even ignore it. Overextension can limit expansion, but they made it easier in the late game with the latest patch. 3nodding
