At least the trip is only 1 state away. Hopefully you don't get too tired from it.

It should be okay. The travel itself is just shy of 7 hours by train. I won't have to drive it. ^_~
So . . . Had to be a full-blown dad today. My 11yo daughter brought me a list to put on her music player, and as I investigated them, the first song had lyrics that had me worried. Without looking up the songs for their musical aspect, I went in and looked up lyrics.
Quote: "I have em like miley cyrus, clothes off, twerkin in their bras and thongs, timber Face down. booty up, timber That's the way we like to what, timber I'm slicker than an oil spill She say she won't, but I bet she will, timber"
Quote: "I ain't got no type (nah) Bad bitches is the only thing that I like (woo)"
Quote: "I'm the one "for a good time call" Phone's blowin' up, ringin' my doorbell I feel the love, feel the love"

Good that you can relax (as much as is possible on public transportation).
Ah, a solid parenting moment; glad you made that call. Lyrics are critical in music; they can have a profound impact, though seemingly subtle. For the longest time, I could barely understand a word in any modern songs (I wasn't allowed to listen to any anyway); I still have trouble in a lot of songs (the singing in modern songs is generally horrid), but that's why I prefer classical and techno.

As a parent, I found that completely unacceptable. As a psychologist, I understand immersing the mind in a culture can influence that mind. Talking about 'bad bitches' and giving up rent money to supply alcohol for a party is never going to fly. Ever. I don't care how unpopular that may or may not make me. I refuse to let her go through that.
As for music, I prefer to understand the lyrics. So much so that if I cannot identify at least half the lyrics, it is an automatic no. I can listen to a wide variety of music, but have lately settled on some Viking Metal. Some of it gets a bit gutteral/screamy, but it is good stuff for me.
BTW, this is being written from Staten Island, NYC.

Yeah, nothing about those lyrics is okay.
I'm okay with foreign language songs, but otherwise I want to know.
I hope you manage to find rest on your trip.

No rest, but finally am home. Now for the relaxation before work. sweatdrop
I find myself being drawn to Amon Armath, who use a lot of Nordic legends and folklore as they lyrics for their songs.

I got home last night, so I definitely understand.
Mythology can be an excellent source of inspiration. As far as Metal goes, I prefer Power or Symphonic.

I am unfamiliar with that group . . . I might have to try them out.
I've decided to cut my time here by a significant amount by all but deactivating my two mules. Thus far, that only has the side effect of reorganizing my items. After dumping all that was on Alexander and Ruined into this account, I have a hell of a mess to clean up. sweatdrop

Sorry, I was stating sub-genres of metal, not specifics groups. For Power Metal, I like Sonata Arctica. For Symphonic, I don't remember the name of the group (not Night Wish).
Yeah, no reason to go through all the navigation and trouble of managing 3 accounts if you don't feel up to it.

I just don't have the drive. I had two mules to triple my income of items and gold, but now that items (worthless items given in daily chance) and gold are no longer worth anything . . . why bother with three? I feel bad abandoning them, but at the same time . . .
Viking Metal. Yes, please.

You're entirely right, though you used the mules as mediums for expressing different personae (which you can still do through 1 account, of course).

I did . . . but my passion for Gaia has waned. I no longer wish to spend so much time here. Alexander and Ruined are valued and not deleted, but they are extraneous at this time. I pillaged their items totally, and left them as options that may be revisited later. For now, it is all about this one account where I can be me specifically. Not the emo me, not the happy me, just . . . me.

That's perfectly fine as well. Projecting different sides of one's self can be taxing.

Or therapeutic. For instance, being a pessimist as I am unfortunately often seen as, having a persona that is emo/dark/grumpy can give an excuse to be that grump. Mostly it is my lack of interest in Gaia . . . not the personas.

Fair enough.
By the way, don't let me be the only thing keeping you coming here. We can always move somewhere else that's not FB.
