"Evil is often much closer...than one would expect."

"Hello Griffonpaw, it's good to see that you're well. I'm fine, this is just a result of me being clumsy, no need to worry about it."
[Foxfire said with a warm smile, flicking his tongue out to lick his wound. It was painful of course, but not enough to give him a big limp. It was long and it just looked bad, but it wasn't too deep. Foxfire had a quick and cunning mind, as his name symbolised, and it was these qualities that made him such a dangerous tom. When Mosstar and Griffonpaw asked him the same question about Echosong's whereabouts, Foxfire's eyes betrayed nothing as he feigned innocence, speaking calmly as if nothing happened.]
"Echosong? I haven't seen her since we left camp sorry, I suggested that we parted ways and patrolled half of the borders each to save time. I got held up by this clumsy cut, but I thought she should have returned by now?"
He asked, turning the question back towards the elderly Seaclan leader. His gaze shifted quickly from Mosstar to Griffonpaw, a plan forming in his quick mind. This...this was perfect, the opportunity he had been waiting for!
"She should be back by now, she went in a different direction so it's not surprising that you didn't see her."
He said as he took a few steps towards Mosstar and her daughter as if heading back to camp...then without a warning, he suddenly whirled around and tackled Griffonpaw sideways, knocking her onto her side. Without giving the young she-cat time to react, Foxfire bent down and grasped her scruff tightly, dragging her quickly for a fox-length until he stood near the edge of the cliff, where he had pushed Echosong over. He planted one forepaw onto Griffonpaw's chest and one backleg onto her belly, pinning the smaller she-cat down with his larger weight. All that happened in a few heartbeats. Foxfire was younger and stronger than Mosstar, he was a tom in his prime while Mosstar was an elderly queen. He was bigger and stronger than Griffonpaw, giving him the advantage.
"One step, Mosstar, one step and your precious, long lost daughter dies in front of you. Understand?"
He said in a voice dripping with malice as his amber eyes gleamed like icy daggers.
"You, try to twitch even your tail and I'll tear our your throat. If you even try yowlling to Seaclan for help, I will throw both of us over the cliff, and we both die. Now...Mosstar, are you ready to listen? Not a word, I don't like to be...interrupted. Manners are important in conversations, are they not?"
He said with a sickly sweet smile, almost a good natured grin to Mosstar despite the situation they were in.
"For countless moons, Mosstar, I have proven to you again and again that I am a courageous, trustworthy warrior with a quick and ready mind. Yet, you still turn a blind eye. After choosing Trouttail as deputy, I was still willing to be patient and wait...but after Trouttail decided to step down, you choose another. Shiftpelt? I'm worthier than that she-cat in every way possible. I'm stronger and more experienced, not to mention smarter. Have you not wondered why Trouttail wanted to step down? It's because he wanted me to become deputy...he knew that I would make a better deputy and future leader than him."
Foxfire paused for a moment, letting his words sink in. The bit about Trouttail was only half-true of course. Trouttail was a good friend of his, and a few times the deputy had turned to him for guidance. However, in this situation...nothing like playing mind games on Mosstar, right?
"Listen to my instructions very carefully Mosstar. You are to go back to Seaclan right now, and announce a clan meeting. You will say that you made a wrong decision in choosing Shiftpelt, and name me as deputy instead. I will be waiting here, of course, so you might want to hurry along if you don't want to find her blood splattered all over these rocks. Oh and don't think about going back to call for help...I have my eyes and ears in the clan."
He said with a wicked grin, letting his last words sink in. His claws ticked against Griffonpaw's throat, meaning that his warning was perfectly serious.
"Did you think that everyone in Seaclan was loyal to you, and elderly leader? Some of them were smart enough to see that I would make the better leader, and that I would be the future. Oh yes Mosstar, not every Seaclan cat follows your pawsteps. Even your son, Freezeshadow, told me that he would willingly follow me to the death rather than his mother Mosstar. He knows...he understood that I will make Seaclan rise and become strong. How does it feel Mosstar, to have your own kits turning against you, plotting behind your back? Are you sure this one isn't going to turn against you? Or should I rip her life away, just like I did with Echosong, and you can listen to her screams of terror as the waves taker her into their deadly embrace?

I have learnt from the past mistakes of Tigerstar and Hawkfrost...I have learnt to wait rather than to rush things. As for the question of how I will make Seaclan strong, I will answer: through cunning and strategy. Blood doesn't always have to be spilled to ensure victory and power.

Resistance is futile, your daughter's life is in my paws. One move and I'll kill her, or I'll drag both of us over this cliff. Might want to hurry along back to Seaclan if you want her to stay alive. You have...until sundown."

[The bit about Freezeshadow was a lie of course, he knew that Mosstar's son trusted him completely but he never confessed that he would die for him. Then again, mind games were best played at this time. He glanced at the sun...it was nearing the horizon and setting soon...not giving Mosstar much time. (About 20 minutes)

(Had Timber's permission to auto-pin Griffonpaw blaugh
WHEW that was a long post. I think I really like playing bad guys XD)

Griffonpaw

Female | Rogue | Single | Bio | Storyteller

Lost and found
forsake me now
or let me return home!

[Griffonpaw looked from her mother to Foxfire, sensing the tension in the air rise. She twitched her tail with suspicion but relaxed when Foxfire spoke again.
He really did seem slick though-his voice was almost too innocent. Confused and disoriented, Griffonpaw flicked her ears, murmuring to her mother.]

"May not be the best time, but I caught a rabbit, crow, and squirrel," she whispered, blinking, then returned her gaze to Foxfire.

[When suddenly her entire world exploded in a flurry of fur.

She yelped but was pinned down, her yelp cut off. Her teeth bared and eyes filled with rage, but she froze when he said he'd kill her. Such sudden malice absolutely stunned her.
She wasn't really worried about her life because it was her mother she was worried for. Her stunning eyes switched over to her mother, worry dripping from them. Mother, don't!- she cried with those sad eyes, rigidly frozen in place.
This monster become leader? Shiftpelt deserved a thousand times more than he did to be leader! Even though Griffonpaw didn't know the she-cat, she was sure of it!
She couldn't let this happen. It would all be because of her! This horrid tyranny- she could already see her clanmates living in fear of this cat as he led the way to destruction, or, or- worse?!

Only one thing to do then.

She closed her jaw, determination lighting in them.
While his head was turned, talking to her mother, she planned quickly, eyes darting about.

All at once, both her hind legs swung up, catching him in his underbelly. His claws began to sink into her throat, but not fast enough.
Her powerful hind legs sent him flying over her head as she thrust him towards the cliff swiftly.
She rolled to the other side and jumped to her paws, eyes wide. Unsheathing her claws, she turned to face him, hissing and spitting.]

"You won't ever be leader!"she spat furiously. "I'll make sure you never do, by my last breath I swear!"

I want to stay free
so bring to me
the endless spray of foam!

Perhaps I'll defeat your fiery flames
or lose myself among the fray.

[Ludwig dragged himself into camp, his paws feeling as heavy as boulder as padded along the outskirts of SeaClan camp. His head hung so low that at some points his nose touched the floor.]
[How could he live without his sister? He'd promised her...he'd promised her everything...protection, love, family. And he had failed her. He couldn't talk, he couldn't talk, he couldn't breathe. All he could do was sit on the edge of
camp and stare at the ground, his eyes glassy and wide.]

STONEKIT

KitXXX|XXXMaleXXX|XXXSeaClanXXX|XXXTroublemaker

[Stonekit was halfway through with his fish when his eyes rested on a wobbling brown tabby shape at the edge of camp. His ears flickered in alarm for a moment, but settled down once he realized that it was Ludwig. He snorted softly. That weird rogue who had came in along with a she-cat; named 'dog' or something. The gray tabby spat slightly to himself, shaking his head. Things like that weren't suited for Clan life. What had Moss-star been thinking?

Stonekit took a last bite of the fish before he buried its bones in the sparse amount of dirt under him. He rasped his tongue across his fur, purring slightly. His fur felt pretty silky smooth. It was expected of a SeaClan cat to have fur as soft and slick as the scales on a fish. Or so he had heard from the elders. He smiled, and began grooming the rest of himself.]

"Evil is often much closer...than one would expect."

[All was going so well...everything was going perfectly according to his plan. Nothing could stop him now, the only cats in front of him right now are old and creaky Mosstar, as well as the young and useless Griffonpaw. Foxfire was a young and strong tom, bigger and stronger than both Mosstar and Griffonpaw. They stood no chance against the cunning fox-hearted tom.

At least, that was what he liked to think. Everything was going so smoothly, he had said what he needed to say...when suddenly he felt something catch him in the underbelly, With a silent growl his claws began to sink into Griffonpaw's throat, but not before he was sent flying towards the cliff. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion for a few heartbeats; the edge of the cliff loomed closer, and the crashing waves seemed silent for those few moments. He felt himself flying towards the edge, landing just a tail length short of the edge, and dug his claws into the rocky ground, stopping himself from falling over. Hah! Even Starclan was in his favour today, though he didn't need anyone to tell him that he was the last cat Starclan would help. He was a dark forest cat through and through, and that strange realm seemed to lend him a helping paw today.
"That was...a brave, but dumb move my girl. Such brave words, spoken only out of desperation, a kit's useless attempts ot save her old, powerless mother."
[Instead of hissing with fury, Foxfire's voice was dangerous and dripping with malice. His eyes burned with cold fire, seething with hatred and hard as pieces of flint. Step by step, he slowly walked towards Mosstar and Griffonpaw, and every step closer seemed to make him bigger and more menacing.]
"It's a pity, Griffonpaw, that you were not as wise as your brother Freezeshadow. You are strong for your age, and if I had become leader, I would have been immensely honoured of having you as a warrior. However, my young warrior, having muscles and determination is not enough; smartness and cunningness, those are the second most important traits in steps to success."
[Foxfire sounded as if he was giving Griffonpaw a lecture to success as he walked closer and closer to the two she-cats.]
"I would have asked you to reconsider and perhaps join me, as your brother Freezeshadow did...although, looking at our furious gaze full of meaningless devotion to your soft and weak mother, I won't waste my breath trying. Some cats just never learn, and refuse to accept new ideas, and only see what is in front of them - like you. Those cats, of course, are always the first to die. Cats who can see farther ahead, are always the ones to step into success."
[When he had finished, he was standing a cat length away from Griffonpaw and Mosstar, gazing at both of them with a confident, calm look on his face.]
"Now...I am a tom who keeps to his word, and I don't like breaking promises. I trust you remember what I just said? About..."one move and I will tear your throat out?"
[Without any more warning, Foxfire leapt towards Griffonpaw with a growl and bowled her over, pinning her down with his bigger size. His claws dug into her pelt, almost digging into her bone, in a painful grasp that he would not let go - unlike last time.]
"Die, for your own stupidity."
He snarled as he opened his jaws, fangs gleaming in the fading sunlight, preparing to sink them into Griffonpaw's throat...]

(Had permission to auto blaugh
Wow that was long O.o)

[Cherrypaw padded along the banks of the river. Newleaf weather was so nice, less brutal then Leafbare. More prey, warmer weather, it was all amazing. There were so many fish just swarming in the river, just about begging for her to catch them. The Seaclan apprentice unsheathed her claws, and lunged down at a school of trout, catching one on her claws. He pulled her paw out of the water and dropped the small fish onto the ground beside her. Few seconds later, she heard mumbling from a few fox tail lengths away. It was something she could't identify. Whatever, she had nothing to do with this, she wasn't about to butt in. But, maybe just find the mumbling source? Nah, not worth it. Cherrypaw picked up her fish, and walked away heading into the forest, just to explore.]

[Mosstar's eyes grew wide with shock, this was too much to handle. What has her warriors come to? Her trust within her clan decreased just by listening to each word of Foxfire's betraying speech.
His sharp gaze disgusted Mosstar. How revolting, such sinful acts he commit yet he doesn't feel a single speck of remorse?! The elderly she-cat warily backed away from Foxfire. Griffonpaw had true courage for striking at him, however he attacked back. Now they were trapped, like preys escaping from the mighty warrior's powerful paws. Baring her teeth, Mosstar tried warning Foxfire from entering her presence.
Then the unexpected happened. Griffonpaw was trapped in the savaged grip of Foxfire. Mosstar's eyes grew wide as she parted her lips to murmur.] "No..." Mosstar whispered as she gazed at his gleaming teeth. [Such perfect, sharp teeth he has. But like all violent cat, he takes advantage of them for only one specific deed. Murder.
A hiss crawled up Mosstar's throat as the teeth inched closer to her delicate daughter. No more deaths! Just like any other mother, the fierce leader leaped in the air and reached her paws out. She glared at Foxfire with great anger. She wasn't going to lose her most precious possession easily!]
"No!" [With that last yowl, Mosstar's front paws tightly grasped onto his long fur. She pierced her claws into his skin as her eyes grew more fierce. Her teeth gleamed beneath the descending sun. Mosstar tackled Foxfire with great strength while they were momentarily in the air.]

"Foxfire, I curse you." Mosstar hissed, in the similar tone of Echosong's.

[Using her mighty paw, she striked at the vile traitor's head. After the blow Mosstar kept her grasp upon Foxfire's skin. But danger struck the two cats. The anger Mosstar focused on distracted her from the deep cliff that awaits the two cats eagerly.
Without shifting her gaze from Foxfire, Mosstar felt herself descend further from the ground level. She looked down to notice the crashing blue waves ready to suffocate her. The fearful height caused Mosstar to weaken her grip. However she wasn't going to die alone, her personal vile traitor will come with her!
Quickly she used her two pair of claws and aimed at Foxfire's neck. With her claws she grabbed Foxfire by his neck and used all the force she had to pull him closer, dragging him along with her. Mosstar was slowly decending to the ocean's surface, just like the sun in the dawn coloured sky.]

"No!"
[Foxfire allowed himself a mental smile of triumph. Griffonpaw's life was his, and he had won. Mosstar would have no choice but to name him deputy now...he had succeeded, after such long wait, after such subtle planning and careful calculation!

That was, until all of a sudden he felt paws grasping into his long fur. Taken completely by surprise, he could do nothing but hiss when Mosstar threw him off Griffonpaw, and the two of them rolled closer to the cliff...Foxfire knew only too well what awaited him if this was to continue. Death, the same death that Echosong had just met, by his claws. The air whooshed past them, and the feeling of weightlessness took hold of both of them as they plummeted towards the ocean's surface. The merciless waves had never looked so terrifying before...

Mosstar's claws dug deeper into his neck, pulling him closer to her into a deathly embrace as she cursed him. In return, Foxfire kicked out with both hind legs into her belly to try and kick her off, but to no avail.]
"Mosstar, you piece of vermin!"
[He snarled just before they both dropped like dead weights through the water surface, sinking deeper and deeper. The light at the surface seemed to get farther and farther away...Foxfire felt Mosstar's claws loosen, as they both sank deeper. Precious air bubbles escaped from his lungs, and he tried to hold his breath for as long as he could, but the urge to breath was too much...Unable to resist it anymore, he opened his mouth and took a deep breath, fire searing through his lungs as they filled with water.]

Griffonpaw

Female | Rogue | Single | Bio | Storyteller

Lost and found
forsake me now
or let me return home!

[Griffonpaw hissed at the words he spoke, offering no rebuttal other than furious hisses. Enraged, her hackles rose as she prepared to strike, but he suddenly swooped at her.
She was swept off her feet again (not without landing a few more blows), but as she was pinned down she could no longer move. Her eyes glared defiantly up at Foxfire, almost without concern of her impending death.
Raw defiance gleamed in their blue depths. No hatred or fury- just defiance.]
"You will never win," she murmured quietly through the pressure pressing down on her neck.

[And all at once, he was thrown off of her. She jumped to her feet once more, fur puffed out and ready to fight.
But then she froze.

Her mother and Foxfire flew over the cliff, dipping past her vision into the unthinkable.

Every single hair on her body rose and her eyes bugged out of her head with shock.]

"MOMMA!" she shrieked, her cry echoing around the rocks surrounding her.

[Without thinking, she flew over the edge, diving fearlessly (and thoughtlessly) over the edge of the cliff after the blurred shape of her mother and Foxfire.

I finally found her.

The air whipped around her, sucking the air out of her lungs, and her guts wrenched with fear and horror.

I finally came home.

She smashed into the water with a loud crash, the waves slapping her face like smooth rock, except this time she slipped past the surface and deep into the depths of the water.

I was going to be a warrior.

Her legs churned vigorously as desperation burned in her muscles. She swam past the billowing figure of Foxfire, searching deeper for the black fur she had yearned for all her life.
Sound was muted out of her hearing, taste was silent, all she had was her eyes.
All she needed was her eyes.

I was going to make her PROUD.

But it was almost impossible to see anything in the salty gloom, her eyes stinging from the salt and her mother's fur lost in the blackness of the ocean.

I was going to fight BY HER SIDE.

The powerful waves swept her back towards the surface. She fought with them, begging, pleading to swim deeper. She didn't want air, she didn't need air! She wanted, she needed, her MOTHER!

StarClan save her-!

Almost as if by miraculous mercy, a shape flew past her, its golden eyes narrowed with exhaustion.

MOTHER! she screamed silently, bubbles drippling out of her muzzle.

She thrashed with renewed strength, following the surging waves towards her mother. She almost swept past her but reached out with her forelegs, embracing her mother and gripping on tightly.
She parted her jaws and gripped down on her mother's fur, tugging with all her might. The merciful sea pushed them towards the surface, and Griffonpaw reeled with relief.

Suddenly, they were violently thrown out of the foaming water and against a steel cliff.

The impact shot exploding pain through Griffonpaw's body and her jaws parted. The sea swallowed her mother again and she yowled with rage. Quickly she glanced around, spotting a cove that the waves were surging towards.
Her mother bobbed a few tail-lengths away. Griffonpaw mustered her remaining strength and kicked towards her mother, grabbing her again and holding tight. The waves did the rest of the work and nearly flung them into the narrow cove.

Griffonpaw sputtered, water gushing from her jaws as she coughed all the burning fire in her lungs. After heaving a few times, she limped towards her mother's side, mewling desperately.
"Mommy!" she screeched desperately over the roar of the waves, her hearing painfully returned.
[A large wave swept over them suddenly, nearly dragging her mother back into the hungry sea. Griffonpaw lunged and grabbed hold of her mother's body, feeling a horrible pain slice through her heart as she realized she was carrying a dead weight- her mother was unconscious
(She had to be unconscious, that was all that she had left)
and it was hard to pull her back but Griffonpaw did it, she pulled and her mother was there again and they slipped up the cove, climbing over rocks where the waves couldn't reach
(but they were so hungry and they snarled at her and pulled at her, wanting her so badly so horribly so lovingly)
and set her mother down in a dip of rock where the waves washed over them.]

"Wake up, please wake up, wakeupwakeupwakeUP!" she cried, depair embedded deeply in her yowl. "I need you mommy, I'll fight by your side and see that you live for moons and never have to worry about traitors again, just promise me you'll wake UP!"
[She pressed her paws on her mothers belly, pushing roughly in a desperate attempt to push the water out of her mother's lungs
(the water that burned like fire and took every breath away from you)
and clear her airway. Exhaustion tugged at her like a heavy sleep but she fought it valiantly, begging with the water, the rocks, with StarClan, to wake her mother UP.]

[Griffonpaw sat back, panting heavily with an agonized expression. As a final resort, she threw her head back, opening her jaws and sucking in a long breath, eyes staring glazedly into the sky.]

"MOTHERRRRRRRRR!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, jaws stretched as wide as they could go and eyes rolling in her head.

[It was all gone.

All of it.

It wasn't enough that she couldn't save her foster mother.

It just was never enough.

All gone...]

-----------------------------------------------------------

[The water surrounded every strand of Mosstar's black fur. Her golden eyes grew fierce and filled with bright colours. Those golden pair of eyes focused on the bright surface that she desparately tried to reach. Foxfire could still be alive, but she didn't concern herself with that. All she needed was air. To be freed from this vicious, heartless ocean. And most significantly, Griffonpaw. Her one loving daughter!
Rapidly, Mosstar's forepaws helplessly reached up for the bright surface. The currents only sinked her body further from sweet freedom. The elderly she-cat frowned deeply. Small foams of bubbles escaping her mouth and floating up to the surface. How much Mosstar envied those bubbles. With all her might, she struggled to swim up to the surface. The ocean was beautiful, but cruel. Even the strongest SeaClan swimmer can't escape the ocean's strong grasp easily.
Her lungs shrieked out for air. Mosstar could feel her muscles start to ache, organs tightening and hearing blurring. Then, with one last reach, her vision started to get affected. She couldn't clearly see the bright surface, her vision gradually darkening.
As exhaustion filled her mind and the ocean winning the fight, Mosstar's eyelids slowly covered her deep golden eyes. Her paws stopped in its tracks and freely floated in the ocean's atmosphere. Mosstar was slowly sinking in the deep ocean as she sinked deep into her own death.]

Griffonpaw. [The words echoeing in her mind] I'm sorry I failed to protect you. This isn't considered as a sin, however it is to me. However nothing will prevent me from keeping a scratch engrave in your skin. [Mosstar's eyelids slowly opened as she noticed herself sinking slowly. With her jaws opening, she tried to scream.] "GRIFFONPAW!" she cried out in the ocean, foams of bubbles following the waves of her spoken words. [The beaming words couldn't reach the surface. With her last words, Mosstar closed her eyes. Death was ready to open its paws and corrupt the elderly she-cats fragile body.]

[Still, black colour. This was all she could visualize. Was this how death looked like? Not even Griffonpaw's beautiful image enter the she-cat's mind. Only the faint sound of Griffonpaw entered her ears. Without being able to focus on her daughter's words, she believed it was death. Death swimming fiercly through the ocean's currents to posses Mosstar's remaining life. Could StarClan come and save her? Or did she disappoint her royal StarClan ancestors by not being keen on saving Griffonpaw? If so, then Mosstar couldn't blame them a bit. For she was also furious with her own foolish acts. If only she protected Griffonpaw more wisely...then none of this would've happened. Many perfect moments they would experience together. Like a mother and a daughter.]

[Mosstar could feel something sharp tug onto her skin. She was being dragged through the ocean's body. Was it death? She couldn't know, for she thought of many delightful moments she couldn't spend with her daughter. Mosstar took the time to picture those loving moments.]

[There was a small grey mouse, scattering upon the rocky surface. It was nibbling on a stale corn and not worrying about any mischief. Then with a swift blow from a bright paw, it's body lacked life. It was dead.] "Mommy, look I got it!" Mosstar would imagine Griffonpaw cheering. [Then the elderly SeaClan leader entered the clearing to spot her daughter looking down at the catch with blissful eyes.] "I'm proud of you, Griffonpaw." she purred.

[Before the high rock stood a proud warrior. A newly ranked warrior. Booming cheers surrounded Griffonpaw as she stood there with gleaming blue eyes. She looked up proudly at her mother, with a happy smile. Mosstar was resting upon the high rock and kept her eyes locked on her beautiful daughter. A smile stretched across the leader's face as she gazed upon her daughter. Trying to hold back the large blob of tear that hung from her eye. But she failed, as it dripped and splattered upon the firm rock.]

[The moon was positioned high up in the dark sky. Gleaming upon the two she-cats who shared stories with giggles and chuckles. Mosstar and Griffonpaw exchanging stories and replied with a smile or a laugh. Not even touching their preys.]

Griffonpaw, I will miss you.

[Slowly the faint sound of waves entered her ears. Gradually growing louder. The salty scent struggled through the she-cat's nostrils, but managed its way through. Her jet-black body was heavy from all the waters that clogged her insides. Mosstar kept her eyes closed, feeling death hasn't possessed her yet. Or StarClan. But she noticed something different. She wasn't in the thick body of the ocean. She was...on land? Then a rapid and constant push was forced upon her belly. The cries of her daughter entered her ears.
Mosstar tried to murmur, but only chocked on water. Then a stream of water crawled up her throat from her lungs. Shooting her eyelids up, she coughed out the salty water from her system. Struggling to get the water out, Mosstar quickly rolled to her side. She repeatedly coughed out the distasteful water from her lungs. They freely escaped her mouth and landed on the sharp ground.
After a while, she managed to get most of the water out of her. Mosstar missed that useful air. She shakily wheezed and breathed in the air. She breathed and breathed and breathed. Until her body was satisfied. Coughing afterwards, she rolled back to her initial position. Her eyeslids halfway closed as she looked up at the dim sky. Death was kind to give her some time to live, however she knew today was going to be her last day on the lovely place.
She coughed a couple more times until she gained consciousness. She was now aware of her surrounding but curious to know who saved her life. Weakly turning her head, her eyes slightly widened but showed weakness. It was the she-cat she wanted to see for a very long time

Griffonpaw.

Mosstar smiled happily as the tears formed in her tears.] "G-Griffonpaw..." Mosstar said with a weak tone. [The tears escaped her eyes and rolled down her face.]

One's pride is like a raging fire...

[With a cheerful whip of her tail Dragonfire wandered back into the edge of seaclan, carrying two well sized fish in her jaws as well as a grin on her face. She wouldn't wait to see the look on her sister's face when she saw these beautys! As she carefully hoped from stone to stone, trying her best to not get her wet paws wetter then they already were as she reached the other side of the stream. As she passed the gladiator noticed a patch of white fur rising and falling over the gentle waves of the ocean. With great curiosity Dragonfire carefully placed the fish on the river edge and began to tug on the patch of fur roughly, forcing it out of the water suddenly giving the warrior a very unpleasant surprise! Dragonfire gasped and dropped her, quickly jumping in to get her and pull her to the shore. She dropped her soaking body on the land and stared, shock flowing through the warrior's veins as she eyed the wound upon her neck. in her uncomfortable manner Dragonfire began to laugh under her breath, a creepy laugh she only did when she was .... a little off.]

"....heheheheh So Echosong, there was a murderer among us after all. knowing you as such a honorable warrior im sure you will let me know who they are by having left a nasty scar across their traitorous face! Lets go mate, im sure there are others who would like to say farewell too. its a pity that we never got to fight along side together..... i shudder to imagine how poor Spottedpaw will react to this tragedy..."

[As she lifted the she cat upon her back a piercing scream shot through the salty air and through the gladiator's sensitive ears. Her harsh amber eyes shot off in the direction of the painful cry as she raced off, carrying the fallen warrior upon her back as she had carried her leader back to camp, with pride! She reached the top of a cliff scattered with rocks and coves. Cautiously Dragonfire peered behind each rock until she spoted in the distance.... Griffonpaw and Mossstar!]

"OI! GRIFFONPAW!!! SOMETHING WEIRD IS GOING O..... mossstar?" is she lying on the ground? Whats up with Griffonpaw, she is shaking.... oh no.... nononnnon "NO!"

[Dragonfire roared her last word, fearing the worst! it must have been the work of Echosong's opponent! Placing Echosong carefully upon the rocks she raced forward.]

...If left untamed it will burn you to the ground."
