"I've been fine, Oomizu. I'm glad to see you've grown up well. And with a boyfriend!" Hitomi exclaimed, placing the back of her hand against her lips in a coy fashion. Glancing over in Hotstreak's direction, she was glad that he was able to showcase his newfound maturity. God knows how many hours of kicking his butt did she have to do in order to gain a little progress with his anger management issues. But with a second glance to Jack, she nodded. "Well, sure. You know how he is." She mused with a smile as she touched the side of his cheek, not one to hate certain PDAs. On the other hand, she wasn't sure of his view on the matter.

Tomoe was amazed. These two were in charge of S.P.I?! They were responsible for helping kill off her kind. But she was indeed happy to see them again, but not for the reasons that she originally thought.

Bunko blinked widely. "Dude, totally deja vu goin' on over here." She said as she touched the side of her head, releasing her other hand off of her sword. "Dang, you two are in charge of this operation? Ha! I woulda never guessed..." She mused, nodding.

Matthew stood quiet where he was. They knew eachother? Bust. He sighed silently and only hoped things would get better. The blonde pushed up his glasses again, carefully avoiding the wayward curl that bounced in his face with each movement. This was just awkward now. He tugged at the very edges of his sleeve cuffs.

Oomizu shrugged lightly with a small smirk. "Eh, it was bound to happen some time. It was only a matter of time before I found a guy I don't scare off, and a matter of time before Hotstreak rubbed off on ya, huh girl? Maybe you should hang out with Vegisa, Bunko, and I some time. The four of us can take over the world together~!" She said the last part with a joking smile, but with Oomizu you can never be too certain. She stretched lightly and cracked her back before she leaned against Maverick. She was calmed down now, so no need to act all high and mighty.

Haku looked to... Huh. She'd never learned his name. Well, the blonde guy in the suit. He seemed as awkward as she felt at the moment. She tugged on the tie a little and looked to him. "Do you get any of this, or are you confused, too?"

"We should probably explain this..." Jack realized, turning to face the group. "These two were around the last time Emmet needed people to fight here in Quasar. The guy is Hotstreak, the girl, I'm guessing his wife now, Hitomi."

"Well, we never had an official ceremony or singed any papers or whatever..."

Matthew was jerked from sinking into thought and losing his head to the clouds. It was a good thing definitely. Cause he could easily be absent in his head for an entire weekend. It has happened before. He looked to who was pulling his tie and nearly died with excitement. Someone noticed him! He almost blushed at that thought. "I am as confused as you are." He said in a soft and much quieter voice then Alfred could ever have possessed. But now was the explaination. His indigo eyes came more clear in some more understanding.

((Haha yeah! Don't worry, we won't make it horrible!))

"Oh yeah, we never did. But he thinks, 'hell, we've been together long enough, let's not finalize it since we got the relationship, just not the title to go along with it'..." Hitomi began, altering her voice to make it a tad deeper, to mimic Hotstreak's in a sarcastic way. "I want to finalize it,and he doesn't. It's really annoying, actually." She told Jack, frustrated. Her arms were now crossed over her chest as she furrowed her brow. Oh god, not this conversation again...

Bunko laughed silently before she leaned over to Oomizu. "I couldn't pay for better TV even if I wanted to!" She exclaimed softly to her friend, all with a grin.

((I got an idea what to do, don't you worry.))

Hotstreak put a hand to his forehead. "Can we not talk about this right now, babe? This is supposed to be a business meeting, and all. Which reminds me..." He sat up straight, hands now resting on the desk. "You guys never actually said what you wanted of us."

"I really should have put more forethought into if this went according to plan." This wasn't the first time he'd had to think on his feet, however. "Well, we know you've been helping the Federation of Quasar, with everything from stronger weapons to hired mercenaries... That's a direct conflict of interest to us, mainly because the Federation of Quasar are nothing but a bunch of glorified child-murderers."

"We've provided plenty of supplies and human resources to your side, as well," Hotstreak countered. "In fact, it's come to my attention that a certain mercenary we deployed to a branch of the FoQ is now working for you. A Medic. Funny how you took in one of the men stationed at that base that had probably the least morals of any of them... Especially with everything he'd been able to do to one of your group in such short a time."

It was only the experience of doing things like this many times before that kept Spy from doing or saying anything that would give away his presence.

Matthew just stood quiet. Observing and listening to what he could. Pushing up his glasses again. He felt like maybe he should have been back with the others. Maybe atleast. He wanted his bear.

"We're not bad people, Jack. You should know us well enough. But a business is a business. We keep a stable and clean enviorment for ourselves, our employees, and our customers. We never dirty our hands, even in the sense of politics during wartime." Hitomi objected with a light sigh, waving a hand in the air dissmissively. Leaning against her chair with her arm, her head against her other hand. Almost yawning, she glanced over at Hotstreak, shrugging gently. "But yes, we know that we are supplying the enemy as well as our friends, but a sufficient business doesn't just hold fast to one side, especially if the other side is able to pay as well. Hey, I might sound conceited, but still. We're neutral in that sense. You can't blame us for that much."

Hotstreak just smirked, and took one of Hitomi's hands in his own, keeping them on the desk. She was so good with words; usually much better than he was.

"Look, we're trying to save kids born with different abilities. Stopping this world from splitting in half wouldn't be such a bad thing, either," Jack began, managing to keep an air of professionalism about himself. "You've got people working for our enemies. I'm sure you could arrange it so that the FoQ's workforce began... diminishing in quality?"

"I'm disappointed, Jack. You should know there's a certain level of trust that needs to be maintained in these sorts of situations," the redhead replied, shaking his head. "But, if fighting on the fronts and protecting your precious city is getting to be a bit... much, I can supply some manpower to keep the peace up there. I know tensions between different groups are running high, but my employees are loyal to this company."

"I wasn't saying we needed help, at least not in that way, I just-"

"If you didn't need my help," Hotstreak interrupted, "Then you wouldn't be here."

Matthew looked to the two and then to Jack. "Maybe, sir. If you gave him a moment to talk and explain himself better instead of cutting him off.." He trailed off quietly. Unsure of what he really could say in this situation. "In meetings, its bad form to not completely hear someone out." He stated. Wondering if he should have said anything at all.

((I feel like it's Xmas here. lol xd ))

Hitomi glanced over to Hotstreak in return, allowing him to take her hand in his own. But as the conversation grew on, she decided to intervene quickly. "Darling, we shouldn't be so quick to judge." She told him gently, patting his forearm lightly. While turning her head towards Jack, her hazel eyes shown brightly. "We know of the situation you're in, hell, we've even encountered many of the problems you have in trust issues with the FoQ. But we have been able to keep such strong ties with them, dispite our unnatural pasts, because we have stuck true to our business." She explained, trying to sound as calm as she could. "We are not one to dirty our hands, as I have mentioned before, in the politics of this war. But we are more than willing to help our old commrades, within company regulations, of course."

((lol))

Hotstreak glared at Matthew. Who the hell was this little runt to tell him about what should and shouldn't be done in a meeting!? Fortunately, Hitomi intervened, silently reminding him not to lose his cool and overreact. "Since you all seem so unwilling to actually ask us, specifically, what you want, I'm going to make you a deal," he began. "We'll provide you with some extra human resources to keep everything safe up there, and work on smuggling over any children the Federation of Quasar take alive. In return, we ask for some payment, in both cash and tech. Since I'll be keeping the cash payments to a minimum for you guys, we might also ask for a couple favors from time to time. What do you say?"

Jack didn't like the idea of being indebted to these guys, nor how open ended "favors" sounded... "We'll need time before we can come to a decision. Get it approved by everyone in charge. You know how these things go."

"I suggest you make this offer a priority," the metahuman replied, regaining his usual cocky demeanor. "Who knows what will get stolen next? What building could be burned down?"

"...Are you threatening us? Are you saying it was you guys who are responsible for the destruction of the orphanage and theft of plenty of my inventions!?" That was crossing the line.

"I'm saying nothing is perfectly safe in this day and age. I'm merely offering my old friends a hand. Honestly, Jack, if you can't trust me..." Hotstreak took a moment to pinpoint a tiny source of fire in the room. The embers in Spy's cigarette suddenly grew and spread outwards, eliciting a startled cry from the Frenchman as he tossed it away from him and took a step back. "Then we can't trust you."

What in the hell was that!? Had this "Hotstreak" fellow known he was standing there the whole time? How was that trick with the fire even possible!? Spy stood there, fuming, trying to figure out what just happened and if he could prevent it from happening again.

((This be my last post for the night.))

((Horray for side plots~!))
Luka was doing her best not to blurt out. After all, she didn't know this guy, and he obviously didn't take well to people he didn't know speaking out. Instead, she kind of just stood silently and glared at him. H was really going to make his friends negotiate with him?!

Haku looked to Matthew nervously when he spoke out and did her best not to cry in fear when Hotstreak threw a glare in his/ their direction. She felt she should move over away from Matthew a little, but that would be rude. Insteads, she trembled lightly with a tear in the corner of each eye.

Oomizu wrinkled her nose in slight disgust at Hotstreak. Of course Hitomi was still the more logic of the two, althought it seemed he had rubbed off on her. "Turning on your own allies, some of us even believing you were friends, for a few pieces of paper? Feh. Go figure that's where the loyalty falls in the end." Her eyes narrowed and the more evil side of Oomizu began to show. "Honestly, Hotstreak, you're going to threaten us?! And Hitomi, shame on you for falling to such a degree. You're giving the weapons to the people killing children for Gods' sake, and you can tell me you two can sleep at night because they've tucked a few dollars under your pillow?" She chuckled darkly with a sinister smirk. "Don't bother losing your temper, Hotstreak. I can probably kill you much faster than you can set me on fire, and I think you know exactly what I'm talking about. Or have you forgotten in such a short time? Now then, you expect us to give you aid, pay you more money, and design more weapons just so you can supply a little less to FoQ? Is that what I'm getting from your so called deal? You should know better by now that that much bullshit is bad for a business." She pulled out a wad of cash from her top and waved it at them. "Is this really worth knowing that you're indirectly killing the people who could become employees for you?" She tossed it on the floor and crossed her arms with a stern expression. "Let's adjust that negotiation some. You stop sending supplies to FoQ, and we support your little cushiony life style. Offer before hand stands, minus us doing you a favor since us paying you in cash and tech seems enough of a favor." She looked to Jack, a calm expression on her face. "Does that sound like a better deal to you, Uncle?"
