The Satah
Silv: *Cling* I hate being ignored, too. ;3; Vas happened?

Okay. So!
My college just went co-ed, so although we have male students now, they're mostly firstyears. I kind of figured that since I'm two years older than most of them, my relationship with any of them would be less "girlfriend" and more "aunt who buys you awesome stuff for your birthday." But a few of my fellow junior ladies are spending a suspicious amount of time around certain first-year men. That sort of age difference is negligible outside school, but if one of you is going to be gone in about a year, seriously, stop it. Leave the guys alone, you whores.

Or maybe I'm just jealous that some girls are getting attention and I'm not. I'd be happy with just basic human contact, learning how to make friends again, hugs and maybe talk about movies and randomly shout "the cake is a liiiiie!" when we're passing the dessert table, but I can't do that if other people keep grabbing them or someone's harem is taking up the whole damn place. Sometimes I feel like one of these days, I'm going to be in the dining hall and snap and stab everyone in the face with a fork. I'm ******** tired of my social barriers and being invisible to everyone.

damn high school keeps going into college

That sums up my social life perfectly, so I know what you're going through. I hate it when I start making a friend and they suddenly start ignoring me just because they've found someone more popular to hang out with.

There's also this one girl who used to be extremely picky about choosing her best friend. They all have to be:
-blonde-haired
-blue-eyed
-in all of her same classes
-same grade as her
-same age as her
-female
-friends stolen from me

But now there aren't any more girls who fit all of the criteria, so now she's resorted to even more friend stealing (guess who her favorite target is).

I wish it was possible to become popular just for being yourself. Then I could have people who actually wanted to be my friend because of who I am instead of being my friend just because they feel sorry for my lack of friends. emo

augh I need new glasses the smaller text is starting to get to me x__x I'm old.

D: to me one doesn't choose best friends... best friends reveal themselves over time and one realize that they're there for ya :3

gonk I"m sooo still in denial about there not being any cake...

And yes, you can become popular for being yourself. I find that popular people are good speakers. They communicate on an emotional level with other people and not just with words.Or they have natural charisma. There's something about them that's quirky enough to be loved by many.

And being popular doesn't mean jack squat if everyone that knows you just wants to SAY they're your friend even if they aren't. I'm' not popular, though I am known by many.

I have friends that I am very close with and can trust. I love it like this. As much as I"d like people to call my name as I walk down the hall, I love having great friends over more friends. I also like being generally known by lots of people and being accepted, than being super popular and having folks like me for my popularity rather than myself.

Popularity is a fickle thing.

Being accepted in general or by enough people to feel comfortable is more important than fame. At least I think so.

WOW this post is long. D:

oh well I'll stop here.

[offtopic] I finally played Guitar Hero 2 for the first time. xD We've only had it since Christmas.
Anyway.
I LOVE IT. It's aweeesome. I'm kinda stuck, though, on this really fast song. Actually, there are four I'm stuck on. They're like "GREENREDREDREDYELLOWGREENREDHOOOOOOOLD." My hand's numb. =D And that's just on easy.
I tried medium for a bit. They made me do an encore. Dx My left hand is killing me. My mom made me put it on ice. >>;
But now I want the third one. Does anyone know what system it plays on? Like, just PS3 or what? [/offtopic]

[ontopic] Have you noticed how most of the "popular" people act? They don't have their own personality, really. I'm not saying that -all- popular people are like this, but a lot of them are ((in high school, anway)). They change so that they can be accepted by the majority. They'll become something they're not. They all look the same, act the same, talk the same...they might as well all be the same person. From what I've seen, popularity eats away at your individuality until you have none left. When you're on your own, you can find out who you are and build off of that. I can't stand most of the popular people at my school. They're all so...bleh. It's like they have no brains. I kinda agree with STU because some of them have interesting personalities, but I don't come across it often. Whenever I try being nice to one of them, they're -really- rude to me. It's like "eww, it's one of those goth/emo/outcast people. get it away from me." Srsly, it gets on my nerves. I'm -not- goth/emo/whatever, but people seem to get that impression.
...I'm ranting, aren't I? Whoopsie. ^^;

Aha, this is a long post for me. o-o;

Aha, this is a long post for me. o-o;
That's how almost everyone at my school acts. I used to try to be popular a few years ago just so I could have friends. I had to try to change almost everything about me (I even had to change my handwriting). I even asked the popular kids for tips on how to be popular. They said I was popular already (I still don't believe them). And I'd have to wear the latest fashions (don't forget the bleach for blonde hair!) and so much makeup that I looked like a circus clown and I'd have to gossip about everyone and slobber over every boy that's on my clique's "approved" list. Oh, and I wouldn't even be able to spell "cat" right. But there are two popular girls in my math class who aren't that bad.

I don't really want to be popular for being like everyone else anymore, but I still wish I was prettier and thinner.

And my sister keeps calling me an emo just because I have low self-esteem. emo

We don't really have "popular" kids at my school. o3o There are some people who are sort of well-known because they're more involved or more noticable or whatever, but... there's definitely nothing like what you two just said. xD

My school tends to be fairly good for being yourself, though I think they stress things too much in some ways. We're really gay rights-oriented (mostly because one of the teachers is a VERY out lesbian... ... notice the stress on very... I think she's completely over-the-top, but whatever...). We have like RAINBOW WEEK!! or whatever.

It pisses me off.

It's not that I want to be disrespected or hated for my sexuality (which I do not announce everywhere, because I despise people who do that. LULZORS HI GUYS I'M SATAH I AM A GIRL WHO LIKES GIRLS THAT'S RIGHT I AM A LESBIAN!!! OR AT LEAST BISEXUAL LULZ ISN'T THAT COOL I AM SO UNIQUE OH MY GOD ARE YOU STRAIGHT I HATE YOU BECAUSE THAT AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU A HOMOPHOBE AND I may be exaggerating. Sorry. xD), but I also don't want to feel singled out for it. There are all these posters that are like "THIS IS A GAY/LESBIAN/BISEXUAL SAFE ZONE!" etc. and I'm just like, "Well, where's the straight-people safe zone?"

I realize that it's sort a pendulum thing... we used to be so far to the side of homophobia that in order to get equal rights, we have to swing the other way (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA PUNNY OH GOD THAT WAS TERRIBLE) for a little while. I think of it as when you get a new string on a guitar or viola something. It starts off way too loose, and so you have to tighten it more so that it can eventually rest somewhere in the middle: not flat, not sharp, juuust right. P:

s**t, I started ranting o__o;; What were we talking about?

Oh, um, okay. Yeah. So, we're pretty good for being yourself. xD; There isn't really any pressure to change who you are to be accepted. Everyone can find a group of friends. I mean, I'm a complete spaz (*Sigh.*), and I manage to have not only a close-knit circle of friends whom I love OH-SO-MUCH, but a bunch of like casual acquaintance-like people who I can still hang out with at lunch if I need to. :'D

It's me as Gerard Way!

+ my locker:

Full-view! The yellow thing in the bottom is a package of plastic cups and the tie is there because when I put my guitar in my locker, I have to tie something to the straps so it doesn't fall out and get hurt when I open the door. xP What else can you see? Hmm... my Math/Marketing and Anthro binders... my HUUUUUUUGEEEEEEEE Youth Orchestra music folder... one of the three books I have out of the library at all times...

Whiteishboard! Zombies With Helmets is a reference to both a terrifying concept and the prodution conglomerate Kyle, Lizz, Alex and I founded. Then, there is my thought of the qudratic formula... and some pictures of friend-people xP

Inside-pictures! Me and Tia, Natalia (I have more pictures of her elbows than her face), and me and my sister. P: (WHO IS BY THE WAY, PREGGERS! ... NOT ME, MY SISTER!)

Below the whiteishboard! Cleo and Kyra and Syd at the mall, Mel and Tia and I being gangsta, me and Laura as Luna Lovegood and Tonks, Erin and I (with me being a creeper, of course), Lizz and Sarah in a store display during the grade eight Toronto trip, words that are awesome, and then the cover of THE BEST BOOK!! (Stuart: Why do you have a photocopy of a dictionary cover in your locker? Satah: *Being twitchy and writing* Because I love it. Stuart: Oh. Satah: I read it. Stuart: All of it? Satah: Much of it. All: *LAUGH LAUGH OH THAT SATAH LAUGH*)

The lock plate! This is probably the blurriest picture ever taken in the history of the universe. Anyway: "Laughter is brightest where food is best", me in Plant 2.3, "Less sweet. More beat.", "A chance to dream", "Life.", a tigger sticker, a Slytherin crest (my locker is Slytherin headquarters... Lizz and Alex are Ravenclaw xP), Abby and Erin and I, and LOBLAWS YEAH!!

The toppish area! Doing flips around a fence thing in the middle of the night at Natalea's birthday, sunset pictures I took, Syd the Cougar being stabbed by Lizz the Bunny, words words words, Syd and Cleo and Lizz and me and Kyra on Cleo's front stoop in Toronto, The Beatles (<333333), a picture Lizz drew of me as a goat, the cake we made for my dad's birthday (iced with orange icing AND an entire bag of chocolate chips), Amethyst and Amethyst's mom and me after Little Shop, MY KITTY!!, the BEST cake EVER (made for Syd's birthday), the school calender, and a spreadsheet I made calculating how many days of school we had left at the end of each month and the percentage of days we were in school and out of school.

The real top! French, a description of my locker, a hilarious quiz result, a picture Syd drew of me (scarily accurate!), the notepad I bought for twenty-five send at the book fair, a now inaccurate list of Tim Hortons (yeahh, I'm pretty sure we have sixteen Tim Hortons here now...), pictures I took of flowers, and Lizz! Plus lots of words.

My pencil crayons when Syd and I should have been studying, but weren't.

ARHARHAR

Me + Eileen, a blurry expose of the relationship between painted nails and instrument.

I felt like sharing photos... HOPE YOU HAD SO MUCH FUN LOOKING AT/IGNORING THEM!!

but I can't do medium, at all. @_@

@Satah: ...Wow. xD Lotsa pictures thar. Nobody at my school decorates their locker. :[ And at my school, the staff doesn't really care about sexuality. The students, however...they'll beat you up if you're anything but straight. ^^;

@SPYDK: I tried being popular for, like, one day. I got sick of it because it was like I could never relax. SO I gave up and I found my current friends. :] I'm proud to say that my handwriting is utterly horrible, thankyouverymuch. I can't stand the way the popular girls write. It's too...loopy.
And I used to have low self-esteem, too. Like, last year. I've gotten better, though. :] I just don't care what others think now. I'mma do/wear/say whatever I'm comfortable with, and if they don't like it, screw them. It's -my- life ((yay Bon Jovi!)).

@Ani: Lucky. >> I just beat easy on 2 yesterday and now I'm going through and getting 5 stars on all of them. I'm on, like, the third level on medium on the encore. It's "Sweet Child O Mine" or something...haaaaard. x.x;

@OD: Thanks. surprised
