I think that people have a problem with pokemon trainer is because *they* didnt want him. They wanted someone like Lucario, or someone of that nature.
But thing is, you cant always get what you want. And maybe nintendo has spoiled us a little bit with things like this.

How about Snake? I've heard a bunch of people actually complain about him, too.
Adding third party characters? GAY.
What if it was like that for every game? What if we never got past mushrooms, fire flowers and starmen in Mario? Come on, people.

Hmm, you know, now with ZSS's special moves up, I'm really starting to wonder: are characters with grapple recoveries overpowered in that aspect? It seems like ZSS's paralyzer whip has a long range, and now that grapple home in to the ledge, I almost fear it will be too easy to recover with her, especially since once you hook onto a ledge and pull yourself up, you're invincible (at least, you were in the last game). For other characters that have to use a B-Up move to gain extra altitude, you can attack them in mid-recovery.
What do you guys think? Are grapple recoveries overpowered now? neutral

But you can attack them almost just as quickly. Their character often still has to react when the invincibility wears off, so you could time a heavy smash pretty easily that way. I'm not sure. Whenever I play SSBM, noone ever relies on the grapple line, since if you fail, you can't do anything else.

Meta_Fish How about Snake? I've heard a bunch of people actually complain about him, too. Adding third party characters? GAY. What if it was like that for every game? What if we never got past mushrooms, fire flowers and starmen in Mario? Come on, people. only a handful of people dare to be different when it comes down to games like this. and those who dont dare to be different complain about the little simple things that most of the time make a game great. and if you look deep enough into the subject they dont even have a logical reason of why they dont want something added into a game. most of the time it just pisses me off to see people like this. Because really at first i didnt want to see sonic added to the roster, well for one i knew people who hated mario were going to get the game just for the aspect of sonic being in it. and the second reason was for sega and nintendo have been rivals for along time, and to put a character from that franchise into this game would be like the end of a good fued. But I now see that these 2 big stars have ALOT in common and that Snake does'nt show any signs of really being a nintendo like character.

Pit is a little similar except he has a bit more flight time than Kirby and Jigglypuff did. At least, that's the impression they're giving off. But with Yoshi, when he gets that final smash, he supposedly can't fall at all. I don't know if you can knock him around or not, but he can go under the stage and everything. So the grapple, although less effective as the enhanced hovering and flying, is just them trying to make characters more balanced while at the same time giving some characters other advantages.

Wether you believe me or not, I can beat anyone with Peach. Yes I said it, Peach. She is strong and her floating ability is awesome. I can't wait to see what they do to her in Brawl.

That's great, and totally related to what they were talking about. Anyway, Zero Suit Samus is looking better than I thought she would. I don't the grapple is too powerful, it doesn't seem a whole lot different that Samus' grapple on Melee.

(Pink dress...O_o)Yeah, Peach is pretty awesome. I just don't have enough experience with her as my other main characters to utilize her as effectively. >.>

Don't think a metal box will help you much. If Peach catches you on the ground with a down smash, and you're in the throes of a metal box.... Ouch. It doesn't take long to have your a** whooped if you're not careful.

I look forward to a good match mrgreen

I disagree with that, Me and my cousin use Samus and Link respectively in Melee, all you need to do is air dodge towards the stage and grapple, it is pretty simple, and really easy, but I can see if you dont main Samus or Link.
