"Ah. Of course. When something sees odd, blame aliens," Dari said, "He looks human, though. So is it set in the future, or is he hiding a pair of eye stalks under that hat of compensation." He thought it was silly that people compensated for their own genetics, especially men. Genetics were incredibly interesting!
"Do you want a muffin? They're home-made," he asked then. Ooh, he could smell the sweetness rising out of the bag. This would be a good one.

"I've always been interested in aliens," Cody admitted, and added, "Since I was a kid. I always wanted to meet one or see something. Proof." He shrugged. "But I dunno. We might have to go on Google to find out."
He got a bowl out, poured cereal into it, and then milk. "I'd love a muffin. You made them?"

Dari smirked. He certainly couldn't show himself, so instead he just said, "Well, Baby, I'm out of this world," but couldn't finish it before he started chuckling. He went about freeing the muffins and got one for Cody. "Well, I had help, but yes."
And now he knew the recipe and could recreate it!

Cody stopped in what he was doing to lean up and kiss Dari. He was smirking. "That was terrible," He tsked. He took the muffin offered to him and took a bite. "This is delicious. Thank you, love." He offered the bowl of cereal to him, and smiled. "Try it."

Dari grinned. "I know." He accepted the kiss and the cereal bowl as well. He took a spoonful and savored the taste. Again he made a confused sort of face. Oh, sweet, crunchy... It hurt the roof of his mouth just a little, but it was worth it. He chewed and swallowed and nodded.
"This is good! It doesn't taste like anything I've had before." Familiar flavors were nice, but new ones were so much more exciting!

"It's supposed to be made with real peanut butter but I think they put so much sugar in it, they kind of warp it to a different flavor." He loved Dari's face when he tried new things. He Sat on the counter closest to Dari and ate his muffin happily. "What would you like to do after our shopping trip?" he asked.

"Really?" It didn't taste like peanut butter. He did like peanut butter. This was not it.
"I don't know. Try it all?" Dari asked. They could make a video, or they could just have an intimate evening. "Are we still going to draw?"

"Yeah, says so on the box. Not sure I believe it, though." He shrugged and smiled. "Yeah, we can do that. Maybe watch a movie afterward." Because hell if they weren't going to food coma. "We are," he said. "I want to see some of your artwork."

"I brought a sketchbook, but I don't really have any paintings small enough to bring, plus dry paint will crack in the bag," Dari said, then stuffed his face further. They were going to eat more, so he only planned on eating a little bit of cereal. He didn't want to pop off his ring and find he'd grown too big to put it back on. That was a bit of an exaggeration, of curse, but... well. Maybe it wasn't.
"Your drawing's on my wall. I like your style."

"Maybe I could come over, and you can show me some of your paintings?" Cody suggested. "Your brother's girlfriend invited us to do something next weekend, by the way."
"Really?" Cody was smiling. "I used to draw all the time."

"Sure," Dari agreed, but he wasn't totally sure he could get Toby and Maia out of the house for long enough to have some privacy. It was just showing some paintings, but that didn't mean he wanted them there.
"Oh, right. She told me about that. We don't have to go if you don't want to." Another spoonful of cereal. "Hm?" Swallow. "Why did you stop?"

"Great," Cody smiled. "I think I'd like to go, actually. A chance to get to know your family, it'll be nice." He considered the question. "I got busy, I guess. But I think I'll start drawing again, now that I've found some inspiration." He glanced at Dari. "You're really special, Dari. I'm glad we're together."

"If you're sure." After that talk they'd had, Dari was pretty sure Toby had calmed down about the whole dating-a-man thing. Or dating anyone, really. He imagined it would have been much easier if his significant other were of the other gender. In Toby's mind, women weren't going to hurt him. Men, though?
Dari smiled slowly. Was he the inspiration? He leaned over and stole a milky kiss. "I am too." Oh, he wanted to say it again, what was that?! They'd only been on four dates!

Cody studied Dari a moment, and then shrugged. "I think interrogation time is over," he said, and smiled at his boyfriend. "Besides. The only person I care about impressing is you."
"Are you ready?" he asked. He'd finished his muffin. Was Dari ready to go shopping?

Oh, Dari hoped so. He shook his head.
"You've already impressed me. My coffee-staned shirt didn't shrink in the wash or anything. Of course it is stained." He took one last spoonful and nodded as he put the bowl aside. "You know, if I'd known we were going to be going places I could have driven here. We could split the driving." He felt bad being only the passenger.
