Imperial Fists also sound about right. Blood Angels would mean that they too have a defect in their geneseed. Fists are stable all round and have fathered many further foundings.

Then I think I will stick with the original primogenitor I had in plan, the fists. Any geneseed issues to speak of? or are there any issues with specific foundings anyone can think of? Why I ask about the geneseed issue is because I had heard the Fists were missing..i think the sus-an membrane?

Well, I -finally- got the "new" Space Marine codex. These things are getting pretty thick, aren't they?

Finally eh? heh. Bout half the friggin book is just fluff though. but that's ok. Squads of 2+/3++ Str 8 thunderhammer termies with chaplain rerolling to hit makes up for it xd Not to mention a vulkan master crafted flmaer/melta list... ok, I need to stop or I'll go out and buy something.

I don't have any index Astartes books, but I can try and call on someone who has them.

The Soul Drinkers are one of their successor chapters. They ******** up pretty badly in one sense and were just doing their job in another sense. -=Edit=- Also, their geneseed changes include the Betcher's Gland and the Sus-an Membrane both failing.

Raven guards are specialist of guerrilla lightning strikes, ie; attacking from the shadows and vanish quickly before the enemy realises what hit them, if they are still standing that is..... So for your chapters tactics for "hammering the enemy to submission", this chapter is way too different for tactics, but maybe possible.
I think the combination of Salamanter tactics and White Scars tactic is much closer to what your chapter might be related to.
Imperial Fist specialty lies in siege warfare.

Imperial Fist specialty lies in siege warfare. Not necessarily true. While they do have dedicated siege groups, they also have more forward focused companies. They've come to be more balanced as time goes by and they rededicate more and more toward the Codex Astartes.

Banana marines are as codex as they come and yes, they only have two faults in their gene-seed as Paul has already helpfully pointed out. They can no longer go into suspended animation, nor are they able to spit acid.

Interesting isn't it? I understand why most models are right-handed now, but the sudden arrival of left-handed marines is wowie.

They are most certainly inspired by this classic piece of pre-EoT art.
