Roronoa-Forte: There's a three-strikes method in place for some of the rules. For sigs, they'll disable your sig twice, and if you violate the rules once more after that, they take it away permanently. I think it's fair, although I'm sorry you no longer have a sig. Why not make a new account and transfer all your gold and items over to the new account?
Aiko: I don't think it works unless the viewer has the same font installed on their computer. I just see little boxes. ^^;

I find it hard to believe that you were over by 40 pixels and they permabanned you for that alone. Although when it comes down to it, they woul have every right to. The restrictions are posted, it is your responsibility to check your sig before posting it on the site.

I once had my sig disabled on Lyoko for having the picture about... oh, say... 20 bytes. Note I didn't say kilobytes, I said just plain bytes. That's about 0.02 of a single kilobyte over the amount. >>;

I think the sig limits are EXTREMELY generous. Anyone who can't create a sig within those requirements deserves to have their sig disabled.
You can call me a hardass, but no other message board in the WORLD would tolerate 500x500 pixel sig images. As for file size...well why not be a complete jerk to people with dial-up? Keeping your sig WELL UNDER the requirements is part of being a good Gaian in my book.

Big signatures are a pain in the rear... one of my pastime occupations is reporting extra-large siggies domokun . . . Only joking, actually I only once report a really big one, over 700x700. I can see they're too large if they stretch the page, the others I don't even notice.
Perma-disabled? I had no idea... *double checks file size*

Cutie: Actually, I'm on another board where there is no limit for the signatures. xD;
But the only reason I had a file size that big was because a friend of mine made me a banner in photoshop and because of how many colors were used, it just happened to be big in file size. I couldn't shrink it or reduce the number of colors myself, so I just never ended up using the picture.
