It's not so bad; I go into the heart of the city every weekday (I work only a couple blocks uptown from the Empire State Building)
Granted, I haven't been to some of the more shadier areas...
I second the tobacco question.

Last year we're growing it. Then Phillip Morris , the main tobacco buyer in the country, is pulling out of the Georgia-Florida belt as well as most of the other buyers.
So yeah.

@Sinder: Sure, you just say that... I'm sure people get mugged there all the time! >_< Is it a nice place, tho?
@Dart: So... where are they gonna buy their tobacco then? o_O And... do you really have to babysit it? That doesn't sound so very fun.... >D Coming on a road trip with me would be more fun!

Yeah, I think it's nice. I've been in the NY area for a little over 2 years now, and I don't plan on leaving any time soon.
I wouldn't know about the mugging statistics... though I did see Batman crossing the street one time xd

Yeah, I was just walking to Grand Central so I could catch a train home (I live about a half hour north of the city), I get to about where the City Library was, look to my left, and there was a black guy in a full Batman suit crossing the street.
The fact that it wasn't even Halloween made it all the better xd

Thankfully, no. He was actually kinda thin, but not so much that he looked like a stick in a batman suit... yeah, it made my night biggrin

They're pulling out of Georgia-Florida because we don't have the "best" tobacco they could buy. Apparently everywhere else can grow it better. Never mind the fact my dad got a plaque saying he's in the top 15% of tobacco growers in the U.S. And July is when we're gathering it.

So they're passing up a clearly bona fide local supplier for supposedly better stuff?
One word for that: Laaaaaaaaaaaaame.

D: Everything has been said! We've talked about Batman, the tobacco industry and it's lameness, and July. What more can be said?
....other than maybe seeing Superman or something on the subway.... That has yet to be said. o_o

*rubs eyes* ...probably shouldn't have read the first 200 pages of this thread in a single sitting without breaks... time for rest.
*warps away in a burst of flame*
