Jessi listened to Daniel and felt her heart warm at his sincere and kind words. She tried to respond but found that her voice just wasn't working right. So, she simply smiled at him and then wrapped her arms around him in a long hug. She breathed in his scent and rested her head on his strong chest.

Daniel looked around for a moment, though he wasn't entirely certain what he was looking for. The thought that he was still a little wary from earlier eased his mind somewhat. As Jessi buried her face against his shirt, Daniel shut his eyes momentarily against the rising tension in his chest, but then decided enough was enough. He had been close to others in the past, and as a friend once told him, the past was the past. A few thousand years was surely long enough to nurse a broken heart. Daniel opened his eyes seeing the top of Jessi's head, and returned her hug, holding her across her shoulders.
"It's okay. You're okay. And you have me to make sure it stays that way."

*finds a bag and starts loading the containers into it* We'd better get going. Velcore's probably wondering what happened to us.
*carries the bag back into the living room and sets it on the coffee table* Well, I guess we're going... *catches Amy as she walks near him and pulls her into a hug* I guess I'll be back late. Don't wait up. *smiles softly at her* I expect to see you asleep when I get home.

Jessi sobbed softly against Daniel's shirt as she felt his arms wrap around her. They felt so nice, especially right now. She hoped she got a lot more hugs from him in the future.
She spoke against his shirt, hating how her words were muffled. She hoped he got the gist of what she meant.
"Thank you... Do you have to go? I have a roll away bed in my closet... Or that big chair."

Indeed. Don't want to keep the dragon waiting. wink They get testy. xd -walks behind Karrie and picks up the bag he sets down- Thanks for the food, Amy. biggrin I'll be sure to take care of our boys. ^_^ See ya later, hon. Have a good night. -walks out the door and over the Karrie's car, setting the food on top and petting Velcore-

Amy sighed softly as Karrie wrapped his arms around her in a sudden hug. She closed her eyes for a moment and relaxed into the hug. When she heard his last few words, though, she grinned and laughed against his chest.
She pulled back slightly and looked up at him. "Yes sir... I've seen how firm you can be. I don't want to get on your 'bad' side."
Amy dropped her voice slightly. "Thank you, for being firm with Thistle, for backing me up. I really appreciate that, Karrie. You don't know how much."
She leaned up, quickly kissed his cheek, and then finally pulled back. Then her eyes went wide.
"Wait! You guys need water for a long trip! There are some bottles of water in the fridge."
She ran into the kitchen and grabbed six bottles, barely making it into the living room with them and putting them in Karrie's bag with the food containers in it.
She smiled and waved to both of them. "You're welcome, Dame. I hope you like it! And thank you. You three be careful now, okay? If you get too tired, switch drivers or rest somewhere for the night. Drowsiness is just as bad as drunk driving!"

Daniel smiled, even though Jessi couldn't see, and realized that he smiling just for himself. For some reason, that the grin even broader.
"I don't need sleep, remember? I could stand guard all night if you wished. I mean, I will. If that's what you're wanting."

Jessi hugged Daniel tighter at his words. Her own personal bodyguard, all night... And he just happened to be one of her really good friends. If she dared to admit it to herself, he was quickly becoming even more to her.
Jessi managed to unlock her door on the third floor and then pulled Daniel in behind her. She didn't want to sleep at first. She was too wound up after everything. So, she watched a movie with Daniel first. 'Wall-E'.

Make sure you don't. wink And dealing with Thistle is just like any pet, or child. If you're not firm with them, they don't learn.

What is in the bag? *tries to look into it, then gets in the back of the car so Karrie can close the door behind him*

Daniel let Jessi busy herself around her apartment, trying to not get in the way. When she announced she felt like watching a movie, he just smiled and nodded his agreement. She was loosening up, but he could see the tension around her eyes. As if the only thing keeping her from dropping right then and there was to keep herself as busy as possible. As they sat to watch the movie, Daniel couldn’t help but identify with it. Asides from being a good story, and a fun movie, Daniel was all too familiar with the concept of being alone. Even in a crowd. It also made him wonder if Jessi had realized it too, or if the choice had been purely random. A wondering thought that he decided to keep to himself.
Once the movie was over, and Jessi had finally managed to relax, Daniel assured her that he would be there in the morning when she woke, and then wished her a good night. At first he simply sat in the chair, watching her, thinking. Finally the thought that staring at her all night seemed a slight bit creepy, Daniel poked around her apartment quietly until he finally found a book or two. Sitting down to read them by the moonlight coming from the window, Daniel took his time, occasionally pausing to glance over at Jessi’s sleeping form.

-gets into the car, putting the bag between her feet- It's dinner, Velcore. Amy made pizza and packed you some fruit. Are you hungry now? -smiles at him and then buckles up, smiling at Karrie as he enters the car- We just need to stop by Dec and Bonnie's first. -gives him directions-

-when they pull up at Bonnie and Dec's, dame quickly hops out and runs inside. Coming back out a few minutes later with a jar* in hand. She also has a script pen and a small piece of nice parchment. The jar is small and round with a nice enough heft to it that it fits nicely in her palms. It is a blue and green finished and polished ceramic jar with a topper in place. Handcrafted and smooth to the touch except for the bottom and the place where it is written on, both of which are rough earthenware. The small rounded edged square is near the top of the pot and is white with letters pressed into it. They spell out the word "Loss". dame gets inside the car and puts the parchment and pen on the dash, handing the jar to Karrie so he can look at it. She doesn't meet his eyes-
