I always enjoyed playing as an Orthodox nation because you would get a huge bonus for restoring the Pentarchy by controlling Constantinople, Rome, Judea, Alexandria, and Aleppo and converting them all to Orthodox.

You're right. However, since Alexandria is the Mamluk trade city, it's capture by the HRE means that I now have another trade city. biggrin
By the way, Persia is now under the HRE. I wish I can get a lot of both Boundary Disputes and Border Frictions from the Chinese as well as the Japanese. biggrin

I finished the game (in 1821) and here's what happened:
I colonized most of South America and Siberia, I captured large chunks of Southern China and India, denied the Mamluks access to the Mediterranean, colonized Hokkaido and most of Europe is under the Kaiser. biggrin
