Dawn sighed as the boy ducked back from Misu's care, losing all pretenses of being composed. He was tempted to tell Misu to leave him be and that they should just move on. But an image came to him, of a young boy, desperately calling for help in the middle of nowhere, body torn and tattered beyond recognition. He grimaced, a hand absentmindedly going to his chest. He still had the scars. "Misu, you may have to splint it. Even if it isn't broken, it'll help the wound heal properly. And boy, let her help you. I'm sure it hurts, but it'll hurt a lot worse if you don't let her help you...." He fell silent then, going back to playing the passive observer/guard.

'Gomen' he scoffed silently. Was she apologizing for her own err, or those of so many before her? Maybe it was his deprivation of aruna for the last few months, but the har really wanted nothing more than to be held, like a child, and for this girl to whisper sweet, comforting lies into his ear. But the reason he flinched when she came near, cowered from her touch, was that he wouldn't know if the lies would end.
The man's words stung, that was true; once again he consented and let out his arm, defiantly glaring away from both of them.

Misukai nodded, trying to be even more careful as she worked on fixing the boy's other arm. She looked at him with concern, seeming to her that the boy had been though bad times with 'humans'. Knowing it was pointless, she decided to try and get him to talk anyway, "So, um, What's your name?"

"My name... it is.." The har's breathing was becoming laborous, but in perhaps a show of faith for his rescuers, he whispered "...zack..ala.." before falling forward and passing out. He hadn't eaten properly in weeks.

Dawn sighed softly as the boy passed out, shaking his head slightly. Zackala.... huh? Zack, I guess..... He motioned to Misu, nodding to her slowly. "Use this chance to finish patching him up. It can't be helped, we'll have to camp here for the night..." He sighed again at this, wishing he could just get going....

Misukai looked confused at the passed out boy. "Zackala..." She said this quietly to herself, thinking about it for a moment 'Zackala. Zackala. Zackala.' Snapping out of her thoughts, she turned to Dawn and nodded. She continued with the bandages, still trying to be as gental as possible. While she did this she looked over at Dawn once again. "... You don't seem to happy about this..." She was worried Dawn would be angry with her, this was her fault after all.

Dawn stared at her for a moment before sighing. "Should I be? I mean, I don't like dealing with people as it is. And it's pretty clear this guy doesn't like us at all. And honestly, I'd rather be moving so we can find this Black Company and get on with your mission." He then sighed again, shaking his head slowly. "But I can't blame you for wanting to help him, nor do I intend to complain any more than I just did. However, don't expect me to be happy about it....." He trailed off with that, closing his eyes for a moment as he sat there. He wouldn't show it, but he was glad that she was doing what she was doing. It showed that at least one of them still possessed some decency.... some humanity.......

Misukai smiled a little and nodded again, turning her attenton back to patching up 'Zack'. Once she was done she moved him into what seemed like a comfy position, seeing as he would probably be sleeping like that for a while. Putting some stuff away and pulling some out, she zipped up Panda and put him under the boy's head as a pillow. Useing the small blanket she got out, she covered Zack up since he didn't seem to have muching clothing on. She stood up and dusted herself off, walking over to Dawn and sitting next to him. Watching him for a moment it seemed as if he were concentrating on something or sleeping. She poked him softly on the side, 1/2 of her wanting his attention, 2/5 of her wanting to see how he'd react, and 1/10 of her wanting to see if he was ticklish.

Dawn kept his eyes closed as Misu continued to treat Misu, remaining silent as she worked. He continued to remain still even as she walked over to him and sat by his side, despite the fact thathe was awake. It was only when she poked him that his eyes blinked open, turning to focus on her as she sat there. "Yes?" he asked softly, watching her 1/2 curious, 1/4 bemused, 1/16 bored, and 3/16 annoyed.....

Misukai blinked a bit in suprise, she was guessing he was asleep but obviusly being wrong she blushed a little. "Uh..." She hadn't really thought of what came after poking him. "Um... Shouldn't we get some food or something? I'm sure Zacka... the boy will be hungry when he wakes up." She had trouble saying the boy's name, but tried not to be embarassed for messing up... Or bothering him in the first place.

Dawn sighed before nodding in agreement. "Yes. You are probably also hungry, as you haven't eaten while we've been together...." He reached into a pouch by his side and pulled out several items of food, including some dried meat, pieces of fruit, and several strange pastries which he enjoyed. "It is not much, I did not gather more supplies than would last me for a while. But it should last for a day or two at least...." he said, laying it down on a small cloth between them.

Misukai was about to protest, when her stomach growled loud enough for both of them to hear. She blushed and covered her tummy with her arms. She looked down at the food and cocked her head to the side, poking at it for a moment. She ended up picking a piece of fruit, munching on it happily like a little kid.

Dawn watched her eat for a moment before giving a small smile of amusement. He himself picked up one of the pastries, biting into it and munching away at it for a moment as he sat there, letting the smile linger for a moment. He looked over at the boy to check whether or not he was still asleep before going back to eating, simply relaxing for a moment....

Misukai leaned back against the tree, just eating the piece of fruit quietly but being content. Once she was finished she gave a soft sigh and closed her eyes, falling into a light sleep after a while.

Dawn watched as Misu fell asleep, repackaging his food and putting it away before standing up silently. The boy was too badly injured to stay awake, and Misu didn't have the common sense to. Which left him to stand guard over their little camp. After all, they were in the middle of the forest. If he didn't keep watch, they might not be there the next morning. Moving silently over to an overhanging tree a few feet away he pulled himself up into a branch and sat there, waiting for morning.....
