HonoRaven " Nice..." The boy squatted down so that he could peer into the innards of the bike. " What kind of speed do you get out of her?" John chuckled at the boy's question - he figured he'd ask something like that. "That machine isn't built for speed, son, its a cruiser - heavy, ponderous. If I really open it up, though, i can push 150mph...but speed isn't everything, Bren. You lose the world when you speed through it, it becomes a blur....better to take a bit of time to assess your surroundings, see whats around you....you know?"

"I only know the one way to get it off... he knows the proper way... but I can drain him to the point where it will just fall off. I would prefer that we do not do that until we are ready to run the scan." She moved in to stroke the metal hand, frowning at the fact that she didn't want to start taking him apart.

Grace blinked... the last time she had spoken to the woman Hono had not been willing to admit that she was a vampire of sorts... something had changed that, but then this was not exactly the same woman she had known from before... it was part of her, and not.
"That happened last time he was here, he got so weak that it just fell off... keeping him hydrated will be very important, and I want to start him on a wide spectrum antibiotic... on a low drip for now."

"Oh, so this is him..." The orderlie muttered, stepping away from the unconscious giant. "He almost destroyed a section of the hospital with his power surge..."
The nurse adjusted the drip as Dr. Grace requested, swapping the bag of saline for a saline/antibiotic solution, the medicine easing it's way into his veins as she turned the drip back on. "Done ma'am..."
The radiologist looked over his body as they wheeled him into the room, especially noting the arm. He came forth and poked over it, noting how the plate embedded in his chest was well-placed within the skin. "This should be workable. We'll be ready whenever you are." He said as the orderlies wheeled John into place under the X-Ray machine, the massive radiation machine situated over his body.

Not so much a blur as a multitude of images... you just need to focus on something and you can burn the image into your mind... one after another and you have a picture book to think about. If anything you have to focus more the faster you go." He glanced over his shoulder to make sure that his mother wasn't within ear-shot. " Or you wipe out.. I know a few street racers who have gone that way... they got too high on the speed and forgot to pay attention to every little detail, hit a patch of water, or gravel on the street and you are dead or a paraplegic!"

"Like one of those little flick-books kids have where you flip the pages one at a time. Each picture is still, but flip them in quick succession and they move..." John said quietly. "...There had been a time when my reaction time could be considered almost pre-cognative...not anymore." He nodded to the bike. "Thats why i ride the chopper...to feel the wind in my hair again, ruffle the clothes on my back, and not have to worry about the patches of water..."He cocked his head to the side. "Do you race, son?"

Bren nodded and then shrugged. "Only for the fun of it though, I'm not an official knee scraper... I'm not really that much of a motor head and you have to be to be in that group as I was told. Knowing every rod and tube on your bike is a prerequisite... I just like the feeling of flying, the rush of the wind as I race past the world."

Raven glared a bit at the orderly, annoyed that he was bringing up a painful bit of John's past in this trying time for her. " Alright... Doctor Sarona.. I will drain him, you should have at least an hour before he starts to recharge enough to be a problem to the machinery." Raven took a deep breath, placing one hand on his chest and wrapping the other around the wrist of the metal arm so that it would not crash to the floor when it fell of. She very carefully pulled at his energy, that inner power to him that made him tower over most big men.... draining it away at a very cautious rate, waiting for the instant that the metal arm fell off.

He knew a little about the boy's background, his....interesting pre-pubescence followed by the rapid growth...the dealings with Hono'o's deceased mother... Maybe the kid would open up to him a little more then he would his mother. Kids were funny like that.

And here it came. That indelible spark that John Tomorrow contained within him. The source of his unnaturally high power. Hono'o tapped into it and it flowed into her like a delightful narcotic, a heady and full power. There was nothing subtle about John's power - it was as raw and unforgiving as the heat of the summer sun. She would find it less then normal, however - maybe because of his fight against Samayou the night before, or perhaps because he'd known this was going to happen and had made sure his power levels were kept low...irregardless, after almost a full ten minutes of draining, his shoulder socket suddenly popped like something was pulled from a suction cup, and the arm slipped free, dropping to the bed and kept in check by Hono'o's grasp. He seemed to relax more now, his body seeming to lose some of it's tautness...

"Because I haven't figured out my magic yet is my best guess. I know it is there, I just don't know what it does or how to make it do anything at all really... and no fairy Grandmother visits have happened again to help me figure it all out." Bren shrugged a bit spreading his hands. He was at a loss when it came to magic, it was just out of his reach.
"Or I could just be another adrenalin junky. I have seen a few people like that on TV, they like to do the same things that I do... snowboarding, motor bikes, dirt bikes, skate boards and roller blades." He grinned, a child still... but a boy who knew that he liked to be active.

Lets move people, we don't have much time to get this done!" she double checked the machine and even helped the orderly transfer John from the gurney to the sliding table on the CT machine before they all cleared away from the machine and the technical flicked it on starting the scan as a loud ticking sound filled the room and the tray very slowly started to move pulling John into the tube.

Hono held onto that steel hand, keeping her head bowed even as she was ushered back away from the machine, purposely taking deep breaths to keep from jumping off the walls as Johns energy bounce around within her, lightning flashing across her orange eyes.

He grinned, a child still... but a boy who knew that he liked to be active. The Asgardian nodded at Bren's talk of his grandmother. "I've only just started to learn a bit of magic myself...like most things, it'll come to you, i think. You come from a family of great magicians, i get the feeling it's in your blood..."He smiled as the boy spoke of such sports. "...I've done quite a lot of things in my life, son, that would be considered....very unethical. Some of those come close to the highs you speak of....but nothing comes from fighting. The surge of adrenaline...is unlike anything else. The pain that comes from it..." He visibly shivered at the thought, before blushing slightly. "...I can only think of one other thing that comes close..."He shook his head and cleared his throat. He wouldn't be going into that with the kid. "...Do you know how to fight, son? You're obviously very athletic..."

The CT machine began to hum and whirr, pulsing radio waves into his head as the images began to show on the radiologist's screen.
The old doctor leaned back in his chair, tapping a few buttons to make the images appear on the screen one after the other like a mosaic. He shook his head slowly - spiderwebs of thick white lines filled the brain case within the brain. He let forth a heavy sigh, looking up to Dr. Grace as he whispered to her. "...Don't let the girl know this...but...his scarring is worse then when he came in. You managed to get the bullet out, but his synapses have not been recovering like they should be..."
He lifgted his pen to the screen. "Here, here and here....these scars are thicker then last time. Something he does or something he's done has been making them tear open again and again, but his healing factor doesn't heal them completely, they just keep rescarring..."
