[Anthony/Lucian ~.~ Black Pearl]

Lucian felt his body slow down. He shot a glance over his shoulder at Dawn as she danced. He began to move towards her as quickly as he could. "You annoying little cu--" The Replica's sentence was cut short as the Dancer was incased in ice. Shortly after, he felt his body being pulled and he realized all the Heartless, Geist, and Unversed were flying passed him into a the Seraphic Star.

The Fallen Knight resisted as much as he could, but given how close the sphere was, there was only so much he could do. Kuja's attack erupted, sending Lucian flying across the deck and into the center mast. The attack took a lot out of the Replica, given his lowered magic resistance, but he wasn't willing to give up on this losing battle.

At this point, Anthony had just climbed over the railing and back onto the deck.

Lucian's chains dug through the deck and resurfaced in Dawn's icy prison, wrapping around her body and immobilizing her, though immediately after his chains were frozen over. He did not bother dismissing his weapons. Instead, he got as close to Dawn as possible and prepared to fight anyone that got close enough.

"I take you all on without my hands," the Fallen Knight shouted. "This isn't over yet!"

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Deck]

Dawn continued her dance as the ice barrier surounded her. However that was stopped when Lucian halted her movements. She couldn't move her hands or legs. The chains were frozen over thanks to the ice barrier that now became her prison.

'This is not cool...' she thought as she struggled against the chains and glared at the Anthony replica.

[Daniel: Atlantis: Throne Room]

Daniel waited with stoney resolve, staring at the spectacle before him. The world around him had long stopped being a thing he could grasp, something he could control. It was like he had stepped back into one of the worlds of Miyazaki and was a part of the scenery. There was no escape; something that frightened him, yes

But it was also something that quickened his heart.

Zodiark stirred somewhere within, obviously enjoying this as much as Daniel. The words passing between the two dark mages before him were the most exciting thing to happen to duo in a while. Daniel considered it for a moment, and while he was sure the moment he met Zodiark topped the charts he could barely remember how it happened. The Turk shared his thoughts with the Scion but Zodiark seemed to ignore it.

"I have seen what lies beyond the furthest ring. I have felt the despair, the rage, the hunger lying in wait. I have touched the Heart of Darkness, and I came away with fear."

The revelation didn’t set in at once. Daniel believed Ajora was about to reveal the name of this ultimate evil and end his struggle for answers. But as the Darkness exploded out from the man, taking the pristine white suit with it the Turk understood. “... The heart of darkness?”

How do you stop an /idea/?

Zodiark seemed to shuffle his 'feet' leaving Daniel to wonder what the scion was thinking.

"What demons I have, what goals I may wish to accomplish--they mean nothing under the gaze of the coming storm, a storm that cannot be stopped--unless you fools rise to the challenge. This corruption would rend everything: the worlds, the Light, Kingdom Hearts--life and death itself would be consumed and undone."

"I leave you alive because it demands your death. Whatever reason you were saved is the same reason the Darkness will stop at nothing to erase you. And so I will wreak havoc, and you will hunt me. I will reach for power, and you will rally and unite. Make no mistake, if I find any of you lacking as Rachel was, if I feel the powers that be made a mistake, I will kill again. If you can't stop me, then you won't stand a chance."

Daniel listened intently and remained quiet. He could not shake the feeling that there were major pieces missing from the puzzle of Ajora and his motives.

“You’re like some angel of sheer chance come to test us. Boldly taking a religious form only to be an entity bent on proving the laws of superior survival- so unbiased,… how perfectly paradoxical.”

Poetic.

“You speak of – powers that be- yet pioneer the concept Darwinism. And just who would those powers anyway - A strange Sentient Being of Chance native to this world perhaps. Did it chose us the lowly few, on a whim to survive the earth’s own apocalypse, just so that we can but heads with the ultimate evil?”

Daniel nodded, Not to say that its logical, but that seems to make sense at this point... I think.

Zodiark laughed and finally spoke, I haven't known many beings with more power then My brothers and I.

The Turk noted the care Zodiark took in his words and decided not to press him on the issue. The scion's creators left him with deep hurts that Daniel was only beginning to uncover, and now was not the time.

"Your heroes are on their way," The winged devil fumbled for a pouch in which he entrusted the girl. Daniel could sense their time was slipping away and it would not be long before the chance to strike would vanish.

"Take this, give it to Kyle once this is all over if he survives. Don't bother trying to open it, it's meant for him. If you trust what I've told you tonight, then give it to him privately, but the choice is obviously up to you."

A Corridor of Darkness opened off to their side, presenting three more Ajoras. Daniel let out a long breath, accepting the 'defeat' of retreat.

"'Mateus', she's all yours again, but I'm going to have to ask Daniel and yourself to leave. I want a solitary audience with the royals, so please take the Corridor outside."

Daniel understood, but glanced at the king and the princess. He prayed for their survival and sighed, turning his back.

"Shall we?"

“After you.”

As he walked into the portal after the mage Daniel looked back at Ajora, right into his eyes. For a moment he grinned defiantly before nodding and turning away, entering the portal.

[ Ajora ; Kida ; King : Atlantis : Throne Room ]

As Kyla and Daniel left, Ajora kept eye contact with Daniel. While the Avatar of Zodiark was giving his defiant grin, Ajora was giving a look of pure disinterest--boredom, even. Once the two were within the Corridor, it shut closed, leaving only Ajora, his duplicates, and the two royals. Any magic the two had left behind within the room would have immediately faded into the æther once the opening vanished due to the protective seal Ajora had placed on the doorway--no magic in, no magic out. The barrier surrounding the King and Kida also faded away.

The Bloody Angel sighed, turning to face the massive hole in the floor and the Heart within it. There were a few seconds of silence as he thought out the next steps.

Even with the Trident, you realize there's very little likelihood of me being able to control this.

.:It is a coalescence of human hearts and souls. They are not gods.:.

Yes, but this is ancient magic--blood magic, even, as only those of royal blood can control it. I doubt I could absorb this power with a measly manufacted crystal...

.:I promised you power if you listened to me. I led you to the Nethicite, did I not?:.

And a fat lot of good that did me. Now I'm connected to that eldritch monstrosity. Thanks for that.

.:You wanted power, and you need it. Whatever you may have planned for those children, they plan your death. I'm providing you with survival, if you're fit enough to grasp it.:.

"Seize the Heart."

Ajora craned his neck just slightly--almost like a small twitch. Afterward, he turned to face the king and Kida, bowing slightly to show respect.

"Forgive me, Your Highness," he said, keeping his attention on the wise king. "I have been rude. My name is Ajora--"

"You cannot take it, fool."

Ajora paused, lifting a brow. "Well, I think you're quite mistaken, actually, because either I take it on my own, or I take it with your daughter as its vessel."

The king's once stern look faded into shock, and the protective arm he had around his daughter tightened instinctively. "How do you know--"

"That's not relevant. Is it possible for me to do this without her?" he asked, his voice curiously filled with... concern.

"... if there is, I don't know of it," the King muttered, refusing to let go of his daughter. "Please, I beg you, just leave us, outsider--"

"I'm afraid I can't do that, Your Highness."

With another small sigh, Ajora turned and hopped into the hole--floating in the air with the aid of his wings. Still, the moment he got within 10 feet of the Heart, its glow flashed from a calm blue to a dangerous red, causing the Replica to blur outside the hole as quickly as possible.

It went back to a calming blue.

"Your Darkness is too great," the King said wearily. "It will defend itself."

"Hmm..."

After a few moment of thought, two of the Ajoras vanished into separate corridors, the various Flood Unversed slipped away entirely, and the third Ajora disintegrated into Darkness (which was then re-absorbed by the primary Ajora). The winged Ajora looked around the room and spotted one of the Atlantean robes hanging on the wall near the King--pulling it toward him magically, he re-absorbed his Darkness-formed clothing (shirt shreds included), leaving him naked for just a few moments before he wrapped the cloth around his waist.

"Can't be indecent when the company comes," he muttered before sitting cross-legged on the ground, meditating as a flicker of Light slowly began to envelop him.

[ Meanwhile : Atlantis : Outside Throne Room ]

Just as soon as Kyla and Daniel walked into the Corridor, their exit would have formed on the other side of the Throne Room's entrance, allowing them immediate exit back into reality. As soon as Daniel stepped foot outside, the Corridor would close, and all left-behind magic would lose its connection.

The scene in front of them was chaotic. Bloodied bodies lie all over the ground, soaking the Atlantean soil and stone pavement. Milo and Helga were huddling against the wall away from the blood bath; the Avatar of Chaos was talking and juggling the decapitated heads; the Avatar of Cu Chulainn was likely somewhere, stalking the area; the archer, Artemis, remained stationary at the door, watching everything like a hawk guardian; strangest of all, however, were the odd puddles of Darkness that littered the area, all the way down the hillside. It looked as though it had rained gratuitous amounts of the treacherous energy, but it would have no effect on anyone who touched it besides possibly giving them a nauseous feeling.

Each of the Avatars and their Scions, would, of course, recognize the other Scions via the odd energy signatures each esper let off (save Mateus, whose presence within Kyla was so subtle that it gave off no Scionic energies).

[[ No, the Roar still hasn't chronologically happened yet. I figure I'll give you guys outside the throne room a couple introductory posts before time skipping again so EVERYONE IS ON TRACK ]]

[ Kuja : Caribbean : Deck of the Pearl ]

"Maybe you're not an extra after all."

Kuja's haughty voice chimed clear through the raging storm as he descended to the deck, sneering at Lucian's position. Meanwhile, the ice quickly grew over the chains and moved onto the gauntlets themselves. "After all, you seem to play the fool rather well!"

By the time Kuja was done speaking, the ice would have spread to Lucian's arms, slowly moving to encapsulate every inch of him. As if to seal the deal, Kuja threw a quick Blizzaga [MS 13] blast at Lucian's stationary form. On contact, the blast would erupt into one large crystal, starting the freeze-consumption of the Replica from the other side as well.

[ Riku : Caribbean : Pearl Deck ]

Riku had spent his time keeping the smaller monsters away from the pirate fray--Will, Elizabeth, and Jones had their own battle to fight, they didn't need interference. When Auron caught his attention, Riku nodded, trusting the older swordsman.

"What do you have in mind?"

[[ ???/Kyla : Atlantis : Outside Throne Room]]

As the girl would find herself stepping out of the portal, an apparent change in her clothing would become immediately obvious, mainly a reversion to her original outfit, the darkness receding into the violet gem during their transfer from throne room to the morbid scene outside. As the jewel erased itself from existence, burning up with darkness as it sunk into Kyla's chest, a voice from the presence echoed from the back of her mind, growing ever more distant with every passing second, "Tell your 'heroes' nothing of our encounter. If you do, they will try to kill us both. Their prejudice against darkness and those who use it knows no limit. They would sacrifice you for the sake of their own self-serving satisfaction..." the voice paused, "I still don't know if Kyle survived their interference, in spite of my warnings."

Another pause before a final statement reached her as little more than a whisper, "I will hide myself for now... we wouldn't want the others to sense me... but know I'm here if you need me. Should you find yourself in danger or pain, I will do everything in my power to save you. Be careful, lines here between friends and foe grow blurry."

[Atlantis: Outside Throne room]

Even with her act doing fairly good, there was only so much Kyla could handle.

Now that she had acomplished all that she could possibly do on her won, it still left a bitter taste in her mouth walking out through that corridor and knowing she could not take the princess with her.
She knew the story of this world, and concluded well enough that Ajora was going to use poor Kida to harnis the Heart of Atlantis. Would things turn out exactly the way as before? She had been so close to the heart, it felt like only moments ago. But even if she attacked that barrier, guns ablazing, she had no power there, and would be no match against that shield even if she did.

Alas, she was unable to save the princess herself, and stepped out from the door into...

Hell.

Blood, and bodies everywhere. Like a scene from one of her horror games, only no graphic thriller could prepare her for the carnage. Even the battle in Narnia seemed tame compared to this somehow... she couldn't put her finger on it as to why. Was it a good thing that the fighting hadn't desensitized her completely? Maybe?
Perhaps it was the sensation of the decapitated head that rolled lopsided to the side of her shoe that was making the artist finally crack.

To make it worse, the cold resolve that came with the inhabitence of the dark avatar was receding and leaving the true artist exposed beneath. As the darkness slithered away with his whispered warning, Kyla almost wanted to ask it stay. But she said nothing, and welcomed the comforting presence of her summon instead. Like it or not- it was as it should be.
Strange- she hadn't noticed how far carbuncle hadbeen pushed back when the darkness was at forfront-
I don't like that. Tyue said finishing her mental thought on the matter. Kyla had to agree- mentally of course, because if she dared open her mouth to talk she'd probably start to screaming.

No.. no no... I'm not seeing this... this isn't real... her subconscious argued. It was like part of her brain refused to compute the sight for sake of holding onto sanity.

And yet...

With each small step forward, drifting away form Daniels side, she could hear the squish of slowly congealing blood beneath her sandaled feet.

'This isn't real...'

' Kyla don't! no don't!

Dropping to her knees- unable to contain herself, the girl reached out to confirm with her own two hands what she had just walked into. As she lifted the small weight from the ground, feeling it's weight clothed in the supple skin and silken shoke of hair, the earthling gaped at the lifeless expression as her eyes misted up.

{Tseng : Atlantis : Outside Throne Room}

{{cue : Know Your Enemy}}

Tseng's hands were tied in this situation, as much as he hated it. He knew that they were outmatched and that putting up a fight against the people that their leader had left outside of the throne room would only get them killed. Despite their compliance though that didn't mean they were safe. As the one with the massive sword made all too clear as the sword morphed into a hammer. Tseng gave a stern look at the men that he commanded, trying to convey for them not to fight them.

Despite his effort though they tried to fight him off in self-defense as the large man took out the Atlantean Guards that were outside the throne room with them as well. This was the senseless slaughter for nothing more than pure amusement that the leader of the Turks never really understood. Tseng remained silent and observed, using the opportunity to study and begin to learn their current enemy. He looked at Alice curiously as she did nothing but stand by while her companion continued his assault. Watching the barbarian slaughter the mercenaries that they had hired for this mission had definitely confirmed that they stood no chance against them.

After about fifteen minutes of the masked man's boundless slaughter it seemed he had had his fill of it, leaving only Milo, Helga, and himself unharmed. Now the man was busy passing the time by juggling the heads of his victims, and more than less failing at it. Milo had passed out during the juggling act and while Milo came to he was using one of the heads as a puppet.

'This one is clearly insane...' he thought as he continued to observe. 'and his agenda seems to solely be to cause pain.'

The leader of the Turks' attention shifted from the madman back to the door to the throne room as a dark portal appeared in front of it. Tseng did his best to hold back a sigh of relief as Daniel came out of the portal along with a young woman he had never seen before. He watched her curiously as she made her way away from Daniel and kneeled down seemingly transfixed as she picked up one of the decapitated heads and immediately looked like she was about to pass out as she held it. The Turk fought very hard not to shake his head and turned his focus back to his accomplice.

"Daniel, we're leaving. There is nothing left we can do here,"

[ Bobbi, Joe, Kyle, Mathy, Noelle : Atlantica : Stone Spire ]

Due to the strengthening of the spire's chaotic noise, the Dragon Roar and Confuser echoed throughout all of Atlantis, possibly affecting any and all who heard it.

[[MS of both effects due to group Limit = 12]]

[ Kyle : Atlantis : City Limits ]

Kyle burst from the cavern entrance in a blur of motion, his body beginning to glow a faint gold. His body flew through the air in one bound as though he'd been shot out of a cannon; the moment his feet touched the ground, however, he leapt again, clearing a vast distance in the amount of time a normal person might run a few meters.

Ultima, as well as the more logical side of his mind, nagged at him for leaving his allies behind and jumping into the fray. For one, there wasn't as much back-up as there had been on Port Royal--just the four of them. Two, there was definitely more to contend with than just Chaos this time.

.:We know Mateus to have some influence in the area from his knowledge of Kyla, Cu is here, as well as... Zodiark?:.

Just my luck, Ajora grabbed the Keeper of Precepts, too.

.:Kyle, you realize that by all means, if they want you dead, you will die doing this, correct?:.

But they don't. Or Ajora doesn't, at least. He's had a dozen opportunities to do so. That'll be his mistake.

His eyes remained locked on the giant central towers of Atlantis as he rushed forward. With each jump, his body began to glimmer somewhat brighter, like a beacon slowly growing in strength. Still, even with his vaults, it would take at least a minute or two to arrive... by then, the stuns would have worn off, though the Confusion... not so much. He was counting on that.

One, two...

.:Please don't get me killed.:.

[Kyla:Atlantis: Outside of throne room]

"Not...entirely.." came the response.

The merciful numbness couldn't last forever-without meaning to she answered the Turk- soon the rest of reality began to settle back onto the girls shoulders. The bile that should have risen didn't burn her throat- instead it just felt like every vocal cord contricted her speeking, every word was an effort of itself. Her legs felt like lead when she rose back up to her feet.
With the detached face, still held gently between her palms, with it's stare frozen and sightless eyes looking up at it's kind holder she lifted her own to lok at the rest of the battle field.

After locating the two on lookers she finished her assessment of the feild with the morbid puppetier. So drastically different from eachother, Kyla would stare at Nick almost awckwardly before her eyes narrowed. A seething anger which she welcomed rose up instead of bile.
Normally when in a situation of extreme duress Kyla would revert to cold logic alone.

'He must be insane.'

' There's blood all over him...' He had to have had a hand in this if not be the sole one responsable for this kind of brutality.

' Milo and company don't seem happy with either of the three stooges here-' Milo seems like he's just coming to from having fainted. Typical.

Kyla took point of the other onlookers. No doubt the welcoming party.
'They could be back up, and trouble if the others aren'ty ready when they get here. We have to get to the Heart. FAST.'

'The others are on their way too, almost here...I'm sureof it.'

' Good, I guess I'll do what I do best.'

'Hold on,' the darkness interupted, halting her movements for a split second to get her attention like a heavy hand on the shoulder, 'I know what you're thinking, but you have to wait. We don't know how far away the others are. If you strike too early... the others could arive too late... we won't last in a fight against them... espectially against the one with the giant sword, he'd crush any defenses we have in a single swing.'

[darkcyan=color]'....as much as I hate to admit it...he- it..is right. And what about the other guys?'

The one who came through the portal with her and the one who spoke?
'- almost forgot about them.'

'A word of advice, you shouldn't expect much from the others, especially the ones in the tux uniforms. The one behind you is more likely to step out of the way and let you get crushed, than help you.'

There was no time to mourn, just like all those other times, it just wasn't safe yet- the others HAD to be close.

More close then she thought- Just then the world of Atlantis was shaken by a mighty Dragon Roar and Confuser. The shock of it vibrated right into her bones and she knew it was time to spring into action. Seconds- moments, the enemy would be ready for him.

Kyle.

But she wasn't going to let them.

'That's your cue! This is your chance, hammer them with everything you've got!' with that it was like the voice from the darkness was never there... retreating so deep into the depths of her heart that the presence became one with her own darkness, a single abyss indecernable from the rest.

In a last ditch effort she tried the charms again, and sent out a wide spred image of what she allowed them to see in her minds eye. The enemy, and how many were there. With the imaginative precision she had as an artist, Kyla willed the blood and gore to be omited from her mental image. She couldn't allow these guys to have the suprise on them in whatever state her allies were coming in.

That done, Kyla made her move and summoned her book. The spine cracked open in her hands and in that instant the book pages exploded into a flurry of angry buzzing swurling choas.

They became a large wide spred snow storm of directed birn strikes, thousands of burning birds of white light that attacked the murdering team where they stood. Their many, many, many little blazing forms would perhaps provide some merciful cover while providing a prudent distraction for the enemy.

Kyla took the chance to move back and get some distance- her steps silent as she no longer touched the ground anymore while she floated away blending into the angry fluttering crowd.
It was all she could do. Now would be a good time for her comrads to be punctual.

[Joe: Atlantis: CIty Limits]

"Dammit Kyle!" That had been what Joe shouted repeatedly as he ran after Kyle(after making sure everyone else was okay before trying to catch up to Kyle). Didn't they have enough people charging off on their own? And why did Kyle....

Don't you...trust me? That thought he kept to himself, ignoring the buzzing in his head of Sylph. Probably trying to reassure him, but he could think about that or anything but trying to catch up. Kyle's vaults and head start put him at a hell of a lead, and Joe, while fast, just couldn't catch up in time.

Of course, while running he got the flash of the image from what he assumed to be Kyla. And in return, he sent her four simple words.

I'm coming. Be safe.

[Daniel :Atlantis: Outside of throne room]

... I wish there was something we could do..

The slick sound of blood beneath his feet made Daniel want to puke. How this much death could be wrought without purpose was beyond him, and the swordsman's lingering presence made him incredibly angry. The Turk had a horrible time hiding his contempt and had to force himself to look away.

The girl seemed horrified to the point of numbness, which was fine. Whatever it takes to cope, he thought. Daniel's mind wandered down darker paths, and he had to stop himself before the weight of thier deaths dragged him down. He felt responsible; none of them had any clue they were going to be trapped mice lead to slaughter for such a disgusting creature. And despite his training, Daniel desperately wanted to summon his wild card and take this b*****d down.

Instead, he took a step back and disconnected himself. Now was not the time, and Daniel resolved that the next time they crossed paths he would be more prepared.

Ajora and his band of minions.. we can NOT underestimate them. They are clearly more powerful then Shinra. Zodiark, this can't happen again.

Zodiark, for once, took it seriously
::You are right. I don't want to lose you to these fools. We can outsmart them, you just gotta stop acting weak! It's embarassing.. ::

Daniel shook his head, If I had put my neck out there any more I would have died. besides-- acting weak got me access to all of the intel I need.

:: Oh, so you know how to beat Ajora I see~? ::

... No, but I think I know where to start, Daniel turned to Tseng and nodded, suggesting they leave--- but Turks face lit up as he had an epiphany.

Daniel faced the last standing merc and extended his hand "Lieutenant, come with us. There's nothing left here- The mission is terminated. We may have other business for you elsewhere, if you are interested"

Before she could answer, An earth shattering roar decimated the silence and caused the Turk to nearly lose his footing. The Witch summoned a book from thin air, launching a strike from it that filled the area with thousands of dangerous buzzing lights-- Daniel was forced to leap out of the way, towards Tseng.

"LETS GO--" Daniel continued running, hoping Tseng would get the picture. He glanced back at Helga and continued yelling across the chaos "-- Meet us at the tunnel!!"

Whatever the Roar was, it became a signal for the girl to strike. She didn't directly attack him, but he certainly wasn't given any forwarning. For now, Daniel would label her as "Neutral", along with whatever was coming.

Zodiark grunted with annoyance.
:: I think... That's Ultima again. In fact I'm sure of it. ::

The roar? You think this could be the original? It may be too soon to leave.. The Turk was beginning to take a roundabout route, one that would keep him and Tseng out of sight.

[Noelle ~ Atlantica --> Atlantis ~ Catapult 8D]

Noelle let out an agitated growl as Kyle vaulted off and Joe went after him. Of course waiting to move as a team was out of the question, that would make too much sense. There were only three of their remaining team left behind; Matthew, Bobbi, and herself. She was going to attempt to keep the three of them together while still moving them forward fast enough to catch up. Her plan was a slingshot for the initial momentum and earth-sledding to make up the rest. It would be a bit of a drain, but at this point she didn't care--she was catching a second wind and could always make up for it with an elixir or two.

Moving quickly, the blonde irritably made an upward movement with her arms, forming two pillars of earth. A vine of seaweed quickly grew between them as a third, flatter shelf of earth stretched it back until it was sitting on the ground, appearing to be a giant sling shot. Noelle quickly jumped onto the earthen sled, sat on her knees, and looked to Matt and Bobbi.

"Get on and hang on." She ordered in a no-nonsense tone. Today was a good day for punching people.
