No it has to do with the ritual, Nemo has a new scar just below his ribs on his right side. Tribal rituals tend to be somewhat... painful. Plus I don't think Jon is going to believe it is what it is at first until he see's the scar. To be honest I'm kinda surprised the captain accepted on Nemo's first attempt, such a guarded woman.

I can change it, if it's not to your liking. But she's thinking more along the lines of 'If he's going to be persistant, might as well take it now'.
And I figured that it was bloody. But that makes much more sense.

No don't change it.
Um yeah most of the tribal rites I see Jon and Nemo going through involve blood or near death and other things. They are actually from two different tribes naturally so the rituals differ in small ways.
