Integration in EUIII is bad depending on the circumstances. You don't get any cores if you do it. If you naturally inherit it when your king dies, you get cores if they're the same culture or both are in the HRE. I suppose that that doesn't apply for a French minor anyway, so integration isn't that bad for that case. 3nodding
As for EUIV, you seem to get cores from all PUs. I've been claiming thrones left and right. Half of Europe is in a PU under me. razz

The kingdoms of Champagne, Mazovia and Modena are in a Personal Union with Austria, and Austria is now an empire. biggrin
Once I unite the HRE, then the Habsburgs will have more of an empire. biggrin

China is going to face the HRE from two directions - west and south.
West, because I'm colonizing my way to Western China.
South, because I had taken out Toungoo, Pegu, Malaya and Pattani. Also, I'm colonizing the Philippines.
Oh, and I had colonized the Golden Horde out of existence. biggrin
Can I change a province's trade goods?

Nope, you can't. The trade goods are set at the start of the game, although new colonies are random. The only way to change them is to get a random event making them into gold provinces. 3nodding
