It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 90 Do all the things! emotion_awesome Becoming emperor is easy in EUIII; just vassalize half or more of the electors. Attacking Hungary is good since their provinces aren't in the empire so you won't be penalized as much for taking them. As for Milan, Italian provinces are rich but one must be careful when expanding into non-core HRE territory, unless you're the emperor. I'd personally target Venice because they own a rich centre of trade and aren't in the HRE. 3nodding

It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 94 If possible. The CoT (centre of trade), Venice not being in the empire, and having access to the sea makes it a worthwhile target.

96 I played yesterday, and here's what happened: 1. I was able to take Navarre because I helped in a defensive war. 2. I was able to take Romagna because of a defensive war. 3. I became the emperor. Now, I'm confused if I should force Bavaria to free Augsburg, take out Hungary, take out Venice (without any ships) or liberate the lands owned by Burgundy. O:

It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 98 Do you mean Navarra as in the small country next to Castille? That's quite far. surprised I'm sure the pope is not happy about losing Romagna. :p I keep forgetting that Bohemia starts as the emperor in EUIII and not Austria. rolleyes I'd recommend not making Bavaria free Augsburg since that's right next door and a good place to conquer, which is easier and cheaper to do from a larger nation than an OPM (one province minor). Basically target whoever it is most convenient to attack at the time with the least amount of risk. 3nodding

100 biggrin 3nodding blaugh 3nodding biggrin
Yes, that Navarre. 3nodding Since Urbino captured Romagna, I helped the pope by capturing it. That way, he can capture Urbino. biggrin I became the emperor by building up good relations with all the electors, Bohemia included. Once Vaclav IV died, I became the emperor. biggrin Sorry, it's not just Augsburg. Bavaria also has Wuttemberg. :O Burgundy has too many nations under him already, and I need to liberate them. The same is true for Milan. The difference is, Burgundy is more powerful than Milan. :O

It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 50 Well that means more to take from Bavaria. razz At least as the emperor you get some nice bonuses to help you beat up any competition. wink

It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 54 The Holy War CB (Casus Belli) is very powerful. 3nodding Are you planning on colonizing then? I personally always found it so distracting and tedious compared to my land-based expansion, but then again I'm usually impatient. xp

56 I'll use the Holy War CB to my advantage. Once I take out Trebizon, then I'll take out the Golden Horde lands for colonization. biggrin Yes, I plan on colonizing. biggrin

It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 58 Oh yes, the Golden Horde. If you don't colonize their land all the way to China, you'll find China at your European borders or one of the Eastern European nations spanning the continent. rolleyes

60 I'll colonize all the way to China, and expand the HRE. Even if the emperor is succeeded by a non-Austrian, I'll expand the HRE's borders both ways. biggrin

It's in your eyes! I can tell what you're thinking! My heart is sinking too! 62 Expanding the HRE borders is a decent but tedious way to build up points for reform. The best way is to vassalize the electors, go Protestant, and then force convert all the Catholics. xp
