Squabbles between 5-member kitsune mafias and gundam factories with magical pilots. And everyone has a nation-state with invincible defenses and a multi-billion dollar weapons budget despite not having any way of making income other than unspecified 'contracts' or 'activities'.

I can't honestly answer that. We're trying to write up some rules of engagement for army vs. army battles in here, due to arguments that spring up, but a lot of our admin staff is busy at the moment.
As far as whether or not we challenge other guilds to duels... no, not usually. It's more of a 'welcome all challengers' thing, and the Heaven or Hell annual tourney in January usually involves teams from many different guilds.

I've gotten asked to do so two or three times. But only by people from around here.
Most people tend to want to deal with things themselves, and I can't really blame them.
