They are overreacting tho, from what I've heard in the news they've been steadily inflating the death toll to numbers ranking in the silly and when a reporter flew over the city he saw just a part of it in ruin, not the whole thing.

Death tolls go up as they find bodies, you'd be surprised at what's not an exaggeration. The mass grave they dug outside the capital and the garbage trucks going up and down the remaining streets collecting bodies are no exaggeration. Edit: They've stated 40,000 bodies have been buried, so that's no estimate.

To my shame I find that I too am not as affected as I think I would be.
