”Well that’s vague…” Felix grumbled to himself as he held a crumpled piece of paper in his hand, explaining in little detail the steps toward finishing his first mission. He wanted to get this out of the way as soon as possible, but he was having trouble deciding how to go about completing it. Since he didn’t have any means of travel, the best he could do is travel around Aquos Island for a bit until he came across a water Pokemon, not to hard right?
The young boy let out a soft sigh as he attached 3 Pokeballs to his belt, and headed to the nearest teleporter, taking him outside onto the beach. It was almost midnight out, normally far to late to be out exploring, but ever since he joined, Felix came to realize that the days been far to packed with work to do anything like this, so night seemed like his only option.
There was a peculiar sense of stillness in the air, the normal wafting scent of saltwater wasn’t pervading far from the shore, and the water was eerily still. Some larger waves can be seen in the distance, but they died down so much before the shoreline, that they only came in as a ripple.
”I think we better head back…” Felix would have been talking to himself if Dino hadn’t already let himself out of his Pokeball, which seemed like a nastily progressing habit lately. Not to mention probably why Aqua set the Pokemon as his problem to deal with in the first place.
The small grass type responded with a quick nod as he looked nervously at Felix, back out to the sea, then to Felix again, obviously feeling something was wrong on a far greater level than the oblivious-to-all boy could.
Just as they were heading to the portal back inside; ready to call it quits for the night, a strong gust swooped over the treetops, causing a loud rustling noise as the spurts of wind were quickly followed by more and more gales, the time between blasts becoming smaller and smaller, something was getting close…
In not even enough time for the duo to dive for the entrance, a spout of moving water arose from the sea, making landfall and spraying water-gun like shots of seawater everywhere in a spinning pattern with the force of a fire hose. Immediately Felix took a blast of water to his chest, knocking him backwards and knocking the wind right out of him momentarily. Getting back to his feet as quick as possible, Felix swooped up his Geeko Pokemon who was stilled with fear and rushed for the sanctity of the nearby tree line. The hurricane-like storm immediately loosing power once it reached the unstable jungle floor.
Although the worst seemed to be over, there was still more to come. The twister whipping up a thunderstorm in the process of it’s rampage, leaving a torrential downpour in it wake as the winds finally waned.
Throughout the area, the clamor of wild Pokemon fleeing to higher grounds could be heard as the sea drastically retreated into itself, coming back with a gigantic wave just as quickly as it moved away in the first place. Repeating the process over and over, the results getting bigger each time.
”I hate my life!” Felix screamed as he ran for his life, Dino not far behind as they managed to find cover from all the forces of the storm; the forest canopy now catching most of the heavy rain as the two sat down to rest for a moment.
”Well… It doesn’t look like we’re sleeping in a bed tonight.” Felix stated, just as much having to admit that to himself as he was saying it to Dino. The Pokemon only letting out a depressed sigh in response.
Just then, a strange rustling sounded in the large palm-like tree directly above them, different than the distinct, constant noise of the strong rainfall, causing both of them to look up. Directly above them, hanging precariously from one of the long broad leaves was a lone Magikarp, flailing around in fear; the only logical explanation being that it got sucked up in the storm at some point. Although from where? Who knows, since Magikarp is usually a freshwater inhabitant.
Either way, Felix had to do the courageous thing and save it. Well, he would but Dino was already one step ahead of him, scaling the large tree with ease and reaching the Magikarp in no time. The only problem posed so far being the unbelievably slick leaves due to the rain. Dino walked out to the limb as cautiously as possible before grabbing hold of the fish Pokemon which was nearly his size. But before they could even turn around to start their climb down, they leaf they were on gave in to the weight, curving downwards and sending the two Pokemon slipping as if they were on a water slide before their long drop to the forest bottom below.
Felix could only watch in fear as the Pokemon came speeding towards him, raising his hands to the sky and closing his eyes he hoped for the best. Well the best happened for the two falling Pokemon in their case as they landed simultaneously on Felix’s head with a ‘clunk’ each time. Both of them seemingly unharmed as Felix fell over in agony, quite lucky that his skull wasn’t split open, but none-the-less it hurt like hell.
Felix’s pain was quickly eased once he realized that what just clonked him on the head was a water type Pokemon. Springing to his feet he ripped an empty Pokeball out of his pocket and tossed it at the still flopping fish. It didn’t seem to fight back much as the ball wriggled on the ground, but even after all that trauma, a Pokeball alone wasn’t going to cut it. The poor Magikarp being through hell already and Felix still wanted to finish his mission.
The young boy let out a low pitched growl as he returned Dino to his Pokeball, where he most likely wouldn’t stay for long but he knew that the Treeko wasn’t fighting fit at the moment. Not that it wouldn’t take much to capture a Magikarp that apparently just survived a tropical storm anyway… Dino’s spot on the field was quickly replaced by Felix’s newly caught Surskit, Gaku, who immediately received a speed boost from the still pouring rain.
Gaku started out the battle with Haze, causing an ominous purple fog to roll across the ground, an field advantage where the Surskit apparently liked to battle in. The Magikarp, however, seemed completely oblivious, just flopping in place aimlessly. Okay, maybe this battle was going to be less dramatic than expected.
”Uhmmm, maybe you should take it easy…” Felix ordered his Pokemon, fearing that overdoing it anymore would leave the possibly retarded fish fainted, or worse. Gaku gave a slight nod in response as he shot a small Bubble attack at the fish, who gave a slight flinch on contact but other that that no counter.
Honestly unable to have this progress any further for pity of the idiotic fish, Felix pulled his last Colorball out of his pocket and tossed it into the haze, at least hitting it’s target and causing the Magikarp to become entrapped. The ball shaking lightly a few times as if it wasn’t fighting back much, and then coming to a standstill.
Felix followed up by returning Gaku to his respective Pokeball, and retrieving his newly captured Magikarp, just now looking up to the forest canopy to realize that the rain was letting up hoping the whole walk back that the beach was in the same condition and he could actually get back inside for the night.
(Meh, not the best I can do considering the time in which most of it was written, just kinda pretend it was posted last night when I intended it to be done >_<...)
