Yarotai didn't open his eyes to see the begging look that he was certain that the dog held. Rather he rubbed the underside of the pup with the toe of his shoe while closing up his pocket on his vest. The young man only addressed the dog since the real conversation had been directed at the kid on the other side of the spire. "That's all you get for now fuzz ball. If your clan found out that I'm giving you treats I'd never hear the end of it."
Rhaim took a pregnant pause to wonder if the girl was trying to test him with her lack of tact, or if she was always so blunt. From her overall mannerisms however he decided that there was no deeper meaning to her inquisition. The teen propped up his right foot onto his left knee and nodded his head. "Well that's a fine 'how do you do'. I'm Rhaim. And you?"

The air was cool and crisp, a few clouds in the sky. It was a pleasant day, that could only have gotten better if it was completely overcast, at least by Takeshi's standards. His clothes swayed in the breeze as he walked down the streets of Konoha, his longer blowing dreamily in the wind. Takeshi had his hands in this pockets, getting used to his newly issued kunai pouch, which he had strapped around the bandages on his right leg. He had been trying to remind himself to go down to the Konoha weapons dealer go get another pouch for his left leg; in truth, from his training, Takeshi had discovered that his weapon of choice was the kunai.
As he passed the various buildings in town, whether they were houses or shops, he could see out of the corners of his eyes the stares of the people in the village. Even over the course of the two years that had passed, the people of Konoha still glared at him. Not much had changed, for better or worse. But on occasion he could one of the people in a couple would say something under their breath, and the other seemed to correct them, as if embarrassed or disapproving of what they had said. It gave him some satisfaction that some of the villagers had come to have some decent respect for him. After all, Takeshi had been a Gennin for almost two years.
As Takeshi walked down the streets, he thought about his next destination. He had been walking down the various walkways of Konoha without much thought as to where he was headed. It seemed to be around lunchtime, so Takeshi thought that he might get some top ramen at Ichiraku's. "I haven't been there in ages...", he thought. As he rounded the corner, heading towards Ichiraku's Takeshi spotted Aryza, Kouri... and Yarotai. Takeshi sighed as saw the man he always didn't enjoy seeing too much, but even as he was trying to avoid Yarotai, Takeshi knew he couldn't completely the Chunnin. So Takeshi walked up the steps to the landing at which Aryza and Yarotai were talking. As he approached, Takeshi noticed Rhaim as well, but didn't pay too much attention to the other Gennin. They hadn't been assigned the same team, as far as he knew for that matter, so Takeshi saw no reason to strike up a coversation with one he was not too found of either.
"Hey Aryza", he said to the young female. She had grown up a bit since their last encounter, though he had still barely known her at all. She had matured a bit gaining a few inches by Takeshi's count, and seemed to be in the initial maturing into a woman. But Takeshi kept his unsavory perception of Aryza to a minimum, portraying a more sophisticated personality. Then Takeshi turned his gaze to the Chunnin and gave him a quick look over. Though he had still not received his Sharingan yet, through unimaginable hours of training, he had trained his eyes to be exceptionally keen, observing the key detail of an individual within a couple seconds. "Yarotai," he said slightly off-putting, addressing the Chunnin's presence.
Then the pain hit him again. Takeshi slightly cringed, and lightly grasped his shoulder. The healing wasn't going as quickly as he had hoped, but the hospital did tell him to stay another week. As his hand brushed against his shirt, Takeshi could feel the crusted blood that had soaked into his shirt. As the pain receeded, Takeshi pulled his hand away from the wound and back down into hsi pocket. "How have you two been?" he asked.

Yarotai continued to rub the underside of Kuroi with his toe as the footsteps of another person became audible. The chakra was somewhat familiar and definately was an Uchiha. Unfortunately for the young man he had had several such students over the years and wasn't able to recall which one it was for certain until the boy spoke. He only had three students since he had started that would address him in such a way. And only one of them was male.
The Chuunin kept his eyes closed as he spoke, "Hey Takeshi. How's the shoulder holding up? Affecting that swordplay any?"

Takeshi's eyebrows furrowed at Yarotai's remark to his shoulder. In truth, Takeshi had accidentally cut himself during his Ayame Tori training, during which the metal wire had whip-lashed and cut through the muscle tissue on Takeshi's left shoulder, of which had been mended back together at the hospital. Takeshi didn't care for laying in a bed for another half week, so he took the happy pills his doctor had prescribed to him and dealt with the pain when they wore off.
Yarotai's remark, however, was a whole other sting. It made Takeshi want to put a kunai to the Chunnin's throat, but Takeshi had better learned to stay his emotions since his first encounter with the Chunnin. Instead, all he did was slightly furrow his eyebrows at the man for a short time before restoring his neutral stare. Takeshi decided to come back with, " Oh, its fine. Hey, how's your face. I figure it has to take a lot of abuse, being slapped all the time. You've made quite a reputation for yourself as a peeping Tom." Takeshi ended with a small smirk, preparing his next comeback. Takeshi didn't think that Yarotai would leave the matter alone after his last comment at Yarotai's perviness, for which he would need yet another witty remark.

Yarotai made no change to his activities or demeanor with the dog as he listened to the boys remark. However that didn't last long as he threw his head back and let out a loud laugh, "HAHAHAHAHA! For every ten of those slaps the one gentle pat definately makes up for them!" In only the gentle pats had been from her then it would be near perfect.
The man settled himself before carrying on, "But seriously, don't stress it too much. I had a buddy, Taiju, had the same injury. In normal Taiju fashion he sucked up the pain and carried on. Ended up tearing it even worse and was physically restrained for over a month. I've never heard of a guy getting more female visitors then he did."

Takeshi sighed at the turnaround in conversation. Yarotai always had a way of pissing of Takeshi and then making everything seem relaxed, which in turn was usually annoying. Today, Takeshi didn't mind. It might have been the medication or the nice weather out that was lightening his mood, but Takeshi didn't feel like exerting the energy to continue the insulting banter between the two shinobi.
"Well, I know my limitations," Takeshi said, squinting as he looked up into the bright, blue sky. "If I get two messed up, I'm not going to feel like walking around, but so far, I haven't seen any reason for my training to stop, despite what my doctor says. So far none of them have stopped me, and it's not going to happen anytime soon." Takeshi's latest comment seemed to come from a darker part of Takeshi's consciousness, something that he couldn't stop from happening every time to time. He brought his head back down to look at the ground, closed his eyes, and leaned against the side the building he had come around the corner of.
"Nice day today, isn't it?" he said with a small smile.

Shirayuki Kaede
She hummed as she walked. Both of her hands steadily carrying grocery bags. The last household chore of the day. And after that, the rest of her day will be free... for a session of reading maybe? Or maybe socialize. Her gaze rested on a familiar group of people, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"H-hello, Sasaki-san," the young girl greeted with a slight bow of her head.
Even though she had grown slightly more comfortable socializing with Sasaki-san than she had before, - The girl still remembers the first time she met him. They spent an entire classroom together alone. And did not exchange a single word to each other. At some point, she thought the Uchiha hated her. - Kaede still retained her habit of formally addressing her teammates. It didn't help that it was hard for the girl to tell what he's thinking.
"Ah, M-miharo-sensei. It's b-b-been a while."
Especially if he is socializing with the one person Kaede was sure he did not like. She stepped back a bit, a foot behind Takeshi, where she nervously peered behind his shoulder to make eye contact with her former academy sensei. The girl had gotten over her... embarrassing henge no jutsu mishap with her sensei. Long remedied after Kaede offered her sensei apples she received after her final work shift at the Pacific buffet. But she had yet to conquer her fear of canines. Kaede bit her lip. While the girl knew Kuroi wouldn't bite her, there was still the factor of personal space and saliva to consider. If Kuroi was here then...
"Hello, Inuzuak-san."
...his owner should be here too.
"Uhm... Ch-chouko-nii mentioned something about... making you, M-miharo-sensei and Shin-nii t-test subjects for her l-latest cooking experiment. She had m-me go fetch some in-ingredients for her but the combination looks a b-bit uhm... unusual."

Yarotai couldn't hold in another fit of laughter as Takeshi continued to remind him of his old friend. He considered it a good thing that the Uchiha had been made the boy's team leader instead of the Senju. If that had occured it was possible that Takeshi would hate someone else as much as he did Yarotai. The Chuunin wasn't about to be bested by him at yet another aspect of their young lives. He finally broke from his semi-sleeping stance and reached down to scoop the dog up into his lap, "An excellent day indeed Takeshi! An excellent day indeed!"
As he had turned his head to look at how the boy had grown for the first time he noted Kaede's approach. In small ways each of the kids seemed to had grown significantly and in other ways they seemed very much the same. The young man called out in response to her information, "Knock it off with the sensei stuff Kaede! My name is Yarotai! I'm not in charge of you guys anymore. Plus you're fullfledged genin yourselves. You guys are just as worthless as me now!"
He squinted his left eye towards the girl, "Cooking eh? What's that girl got for me this time? I think I'm still trying to digest what she made last month."
He brought his attention down to the dog in his lap, "Remember pup, if she ain't a looker make sure she's a cooker! Especially if she's bad at cooking! There's something to be said for a woman that'll continue to cook for you no matter how many times you tell her she's no good."
His head cocked and voice began to trail, "Then again there's something to be said for one that's both..."
Rhaim couldn't help but crane his head back at the random rant that the man behind him had begun to make. What made it all the more odd to the Nara was the fact that by the way the others had addressed him, he was a teacher. He shook his head and settled himself back into place, glad that he hadn't had a teacher if that's what he would have had in the academy.

Kuroi was a bit disappointed he wouldn't get another treat but that emotion soon disappeared as the man began to pet him. The black pup enjoyed it until the chuunin male let out a sudden outburst of laughter which scared the poor little creature. Yelping out in shock Kuroi tried figuring out just what had happened but before he was able to recover from the little scare Yarotai swooped him up like usual onto his lap. In the past kuroi had fit perfectly on it but now he had grown quiet a bit and most likely within a few more months he would no longer fit on the mans lap, well at least not comfortably.
"Aryza," the young Inuzuka girl stated as soon as Rhaim asked. For a brief moment she thought he looked familiar but seeing as she couldn't remember from where she shoved the thought out of her mind. If she had just maybe a little bit longer she would have realized that she had seen, well at least gotten a glimpse, when she had meet Tairu. "Did you go to the academy? I've never seen you around before.....At least I don't think so...."
Aryza couldn't help but feel a bit curious. She may not be good at remembering a persons name but she never forgot a face ( well almost never), and his face was one she hadn't seen at the academy before.
She wasn't able to think about it much longer for Kaede entered teh scene. Putting her hands on her hips she briefly forgot about the boy and turned to her. "Stop calling me Inuzuka-san! My name is Aryza! A-RY-ZA! There are too many Inuzuka's for you to be calling me Inuzuka-san!"
After she had finished her little rant she blinked a bit looking at Takeshi. "When did you get here!?" Apparently she hadn't heard his greeting from before nor had she been hearing his conversation with yarotai. That just went to prove how selective her attention was.

Rhaim opened his mouth to answer the question about whether he had been in the Academy but soon shut it. He was used to having multiple conversations with his sisters but this new girl's habits were unknown to him. With a slight sigh the boy turned around on himself again deciding that he had nothing to lose even if she didn't hear what he was saying, "Yeah I went through a couple years ago."
The Nara brushed up his hair with his left hand to make the headband more visible. The action caused the Konoha emblazened plate to shift even more to the left. Though the metal plate on light tan material on his forehead was usually a dead giveaway, it had been a while since his last haircut.

Takeshi looked over to Aryza, who had recently been silent during the whole conversation. Apparently, she had also just realized his presence, though Takeshi didn't knwo how she could have missed him, being that he was standing to the front-right of her. She should have been able to see Takeshi in her peripheral vision, at least.
"Calm down, hahaha," he said following with some small laughter as a tension breaker, and to stimulate some friendly conversation. "How have you been, Aryza? It's been awhile," he said, followed by his turn to Kuroi. "And how have you been, little pup. I don't think we have had a chance to see each other in a while. Do you like the pats that Yarotai gives to you, little one?" Takeshi bent over to pet the young dog, but retracted his hand when he saw the fear in the cainine's eyes. He didn't seem to be in the mood, as slight shaking seemed to occur every few seconds.
Now, Takeshi turned to look over to Kaede, who had just arrived. He hadn't seen her in a long time, and she had changed so much. Beside her obvious physical growth, Kaede was coming to terms with herself, so longer struggling to get out a simple sentence. Her stumbling was still present, but she was able to control it much better now. In the two years since he had first meet Kaede, she had come out of the shy shell of the kuniochi she really was, and Takeshi respected that.
"Hello, Kaede. I haven't seen you in quite some time. How have you been?"

"Meh I've been fine, the Inuzuka female replied to Takeshi's question. She kept it at that not wanting to actually go through all the detail, besides he didn't need to know exactly what was going on in her life.
"Two years ago...." Once again her attention was back on the Nara boy. She had been at the academy two years ago but why did his face not seem familiar. "So was I but you don't look familiar?" Slowly she leaned towards him in order to get a better look at his face. The thing that was bothering her the most was the feeling she had seen him at least once before but now couldn't recall. It was frustrating for the girl as she tried once again to remember.

Rhaim shrugged at the girl's obvious distress at not being able to remember who he was. He was rather convinced that she couldn't remember him for the same reason that he didn't previously know who she was; they had never met before. Though he would admit that he wasn't trying to remember near as hard as she appeared to be, "Well I wasn't in his class. If that makes a difference."
To the last statement the Nara pointed a thumb back towards the spire behind him, indicating the Chuunin on the other side that the others had all called sensei. In actuallity the day that Yarotai had begun teaching in the Academy was the last day of the Genin exams for the boy. If he hadn't hated the cold so much as to block out the memories of the snowball war he may have remembered both Aryza and Takeshi from that event. However Rhaim had a hard enough time acknowledging that that had happened even to himself.

Something in the girls mind clicked. the last piece of the puzzle had been put down.
"AH HA," she nearly yelled outloud while jumping up. Pointing a finger just inches away from Rhaims face she continued. "You were at the snow ball fight weren't you!? We were even on the same team! It was so much fun! Didn't you think so?"

Rhaim retracted his head slightly as Aryza yelled aloud and shoved a finger towards his face. At first he had no idea what she was talking about but was all at once aware of the situation. The tips of his fingers felt slightly fuzzy as if he were back in the cold again. He rubbed the back of his head and dibbed his head slightly, "Yeah I guess I was. I don't quite remember you though. Sorry. It's just not something I think about often. But it was kind of fun."
Despite his hatred for the cold, he wasn't lying at all by saying that it had been fun. His appreciation was due in no small part to the efforts of the blind girl that had been his first and onlt opponent.
