"She's stopped using magic, so she shouldn't be as bright as she was before," Lin assured him, "Since we're pretty sure now that is what you're seeing. She's back to her... err... normal brightness."
Since really in a way that wasn't much better.

Andarien shook his head, keeping his hands over his eyes. "I don't like it," he complained. "It's always too bright and it hurts!"
Earendil sighed. "Now you're just being silly," he reprimanded his son. "Now that we know what you're seeing, we'll all try not to do anything to make it worse. But we can't change what we are, and you can't go through life with your hands over your eyes. Now come on, you're going to make her feel bad."
Andarien didn't respond, other than to bury his face against Lin's chest.

Lin absently wondered if Sight could be affected by things that they normally used to affect normal sight, but she decided to file that away for questions later. At the moment, she would like Andarien to not do that.
"Andarien, I know you don't like it but your ada is right you can't keep hiding like this. It's something you're going to have to learn how to cope with but we'll find ways, but at the moment you need look up again."

Andarien sniffled. "But it hurts ..." he mumbled into his hands.
Earendil looked worried. "Then we need to know if you can still see all right," he told his son. "Come on, look around. Look at the sand, if you don't want to look at people, but you need to tell us what you see."
If it blinded him like Ioreth's changing had blinded Lady Kirahn and the children, then this could be potentially dangerous for Andarien.

Lin shifted around a bit so she was away from people. Though it was a bit seeing was they were in a cart. Still, she figured it was worth a try seeing as they didn't know how bad it was for Andarien.
"Come on, we're facing a cart wall so it shouldn't be as bad."

Andarien turned his head slightly and cracked one eye open. His pupil was tiny, as if someone were shining a light in his face. He could see the side of the wagon, but there was a white spot in the center of his vision, so he couldn't see what he was looking at directly, only around it.
"There's a hole," he sniffled, poking the wagon where he saw nothing. He was surprised to feel it solid under his fingertip.

Lin frowned at this, she looked up and around, "I think Andarien's eyesight needs to be checked."
It sounded like he had sight problems and wanted that to be looked at now.

"Then I would suggest we bring him to Alassëa," Earendil said. "Come on, if we take him to her we don't have to stop the wagons."
She and Aethos were in the other wagon, but it wasn't as if they were going at a fast pace. It would be simple enough to hop off the wagon and climb onto the other one.

"Sounds like a plan," Lin nodded.
She didn't want to worry anyone too much just yet, but she swore she would talk to Luk and Shiro after this, because now that question of hers just couldn't be shelved.
Picking Andarien up, Lin noted that since he grew she might not be able to pick him up for much longer. Carefully having a grip on Andarien she hopped off the wagon and took him over to the other.

"Look, visitors!" Emile grinned when Lin, Earendil and Andarien climbed up into the second wagon. "Company getting boring over there?"
Emile was sitting at the back of the wagon with Luk, Alassëa and Aethos, while Aric, Leilani, Remiel, and Kaito were up at the front.

Lin couldn't help but give Emile a small smile despite the seriousness of it all, "I wish it could be that, but apparently Andarien's Sight is seeing magic and Lancaeriel was about to use it to show Andarien what a dragon looked like, but well... it became too bright and we think it affected his eyesight."
They really needed to come up with a solution for that, despite the fact it was something Andarien would have to live with, she knew that if magic was what he saw then that could be a bit problematic once they visited Gaia since magic wasn't confined to just people.

"Is he hurt?" Alassëa said immediately, instantly concerned. "Bring him here."
She nudged Aethos aside to make room for the boy.
Luk frowned. "That's going to make it very difficult for him if he's going to travel," he commented. "Or just to be in this world for that matter. This world is made from magic, and it's filled with it."
He pointed at one of the bags on the other side of the wagon. "Emile, pass me my bag," he told him.
Emile did so, and Luk began to rummage around in his bag.

Lin brought Andarien forward carefully and sat cross legged next to Alassea.
"Gaia is no better," Lin told Luk, "There are people who have learned to enbue objects with magic, and rune making is one of the specialties of my family."
Even though there had yet was a person beyond her father and mother who used them regularly. Yukito and Yue knew how to use them but only because they learned everything they could at one point or another. It was still a useful ability to have.

"So he won't be able to escape it no matter what," Luk frowned as Alassëa put one hand to Andarien's eyes. "I ... don't know if it will help him, but ... I do have my sun lenses here ... maybe those will help, at least for now."
If that didn't work, he wondered if they would be able to find something for him in Caras Galadhon. There, he knew, there were many wonders that could help people who needed help, for mortals and immortals, humans, elves and half-breeds.

"Shades?" Lin murmured using the slang for sunglasses, "I had wondered about that actually. It's worth a try at least."
If that didn't work she didn't know what she would do, but seeing as it seemed like it affected his physical sight and not what some would call their mind's eye it probably would.
She hoped.
