Lin crept close to Earendil keeping as quiet as possible, the only bit of sound was perhaps the rustle of cloth but one could think that being the wind.

Earendil reached down and tapped Lin on the shoulder, then mouthed, Sneak up on her, nodding towards Nina. He wanted to see if the kirin was scareable, and since Lin liked "stalking" so much, he figured he might as well let her do it.

Lin nodded as she crept away from Earendil and towards Nina trying to muffle the amount of sound she made. Though she didn't know how well she was doing so.
She was in fact doing quite well, but Nina... smelt something. It wasn't unpleasant but it smelt familiar.
"Oh where... oh where," Nina murmured to herself to the tune of Oh Where Did My Little Dog Go.

It was all Earendil could do not to chuckle. An odd tune coming from the little kirin, though the fact that a unicorn-type creature from another world was singing at all was enough to make him laugh.
He kept it in, however, and watched Lin's progress. Sound wasn't really an issue, the wishsong after all was illusions created with sound. It was a complicated magic, really, and there were few who understood it - even Earendil himself had no idea how it worked, only knew what it did and how he could use it.

"I smell.... I smell..." Nina tried to put her finger... or hoof as it were on it.
At that moment Lin struck pouncing on Nina, at least trying to jump on top of the kirin and ending up grabbing the creature's rear half on and half off. Though Lin was trying to wiggle onto Nina.
"Ahhh!" Nina turned to see what it was, the thing was Nina couldn't really catch her behind (as the natural it was for all four legged beings). So she ended up circling herself, with Lin trying to hold on.

Earendil burst out laughing at that, and the magic dissipated, leaving both of them in plain view. He squatted on the floor, laughing and watching the two of them.

"Hey! No fair!" Nina pouted, "You got all sneaky sneaky like socks."
Lin blinked, "How can socks be sneaky? They don't move at all."
"Of course they're sneaky!" Nina protested like it was the most normal thing in the world, "They can sneak away from their pair and you never find them again."

"Never did see why humans are so fond of the stupid things," Earendil frowned. "Get lost all the time and get so darned dirty."
His mother would have been horrified to hear him using such unfitting language.

"Daddy wears them all the time," Lin pointed out.
Granted her daddy was a human male who tended to swear. If Earendil's mother thought his language was unfitting she didn't want to know what Lin had heard when Donovan thought there was no one around. She kind of wondered if some of what he said was even possible... She crawled up onto Nina's back so she could hug the kirin's neck.

"Anyways," Earendil murmured, straightening, "snack. Follow me." And he started off through the maze, trusting to Nina to follow him.

Nina turned tail and followed the elven prince trotting as she went with her hooves.
"Are there going to be sun eaters with that snack?" Nina inquired looking up at Earendil.

Earendil blinked, startled, down at Nina, and stopped in his tracks. "What? Sun eaters?"
What in the world was she talking about?

"Yes! The sun eaters, the sugar makers... the drinkers of water and all that," Nina replied back.
It seemed that someone forgot about Nina's habit about talking in riddles like that.

"The who and what?" Earendil questioned again.
He had only been two years old when he had last seen the kirin, and he didn't remember much about her - and it was certain that he hadn't understood her very well at all when he'd been little.

"Plants," Lin finally supplied figuring that Earendil wasn't going to get it, "Kali says that plants take in sunlight and water to make sugar that feeds them. Though I don't know how that can be... some veggies are bitter."
Maybe the plants ate all their sugar before they were cooked she thought.
