Smiling apologetically at Ray, R'larin slowly chewed her lip in thought, "I know there was a clearing not too far off." Pointing in an easterly direction she glanced up at the sky and the shadows on the ground, "If we move fast we can get there by early evening." Dropping her arms to the side she rolled her eyes in annoyance at herself, "Unless you'd rather not fight in the dark."

"We can fight in the dark just fine," Drake grumbled, ready to stalk off and start this thing. Ray nodded knowing fine and well that she'd given herself and Drake permanet darkvision so that they wouldn't be limited to where and how they fought. Meir tilted his head at the three before fluttering up to his mistress's shoulder.

"Fantastic!" Nodding her head to accentuate her comment, she moved in the direction she had pointed and wove herself between the trees. Glad it was finally starting to get dark to use her favourite inate power, she smiled and stroked the pommel of her saber.
The clearing was closer by than she thought, and she stopped fast as she entered it. Taking in the eveness of the ground she nodded again and turned around to face where she'd entered the clearing and folder her arms across her chest.

Drake and Ray followed R'larin to the clearing, Meir perched upon his mistress's shoulder. Once there, Ray moved off to the side to watch knowing well enough that Drake had some frustrations to take out. Plus, he was better at melee fighting than she was. It was all about magic and spells for her. Drake stopped a good ten feet from R'larin before popping his neck and fingers. Drawing out his two short swords from his back, one different from the other, he waited. "So...shall we start?"

R'larin smiled and looked up at the sky for a split section before nodding and drawing her weapon. Eying Drake up and down with experience, she rushed him. Stopping short of him, the nightelf dropped into a crouch and thrusted her sword upward in an obvious first move.

Being rushed was something Drake was used to...as well as being attacked by all sides in different situations. Ray had caused a lot of trouble when they first met and in the end, he ended up having to fight in the middle of two armies. one of undead and demons, the other of elves, all of which he didn't prefer. Plus, Leo often rushed him in the front which caused the half-elf to get thrown back. Pulling one sword around, Drake moved to hopefully block her sword while he brought the other down for a strike.

Smirking, the elf's ears twitched slightly as she hooked her off-hand around the back of Drake's knees and pulled towards herself. Expecting her sword arm to be blocked, R'larin twisted her body to free it just in time to block Drake's strike. He was faster than she had thought he'd be, and she was afraid she was going to pay for that miscalculation.

Drake hadn't expected her to hook his leg so he was caught off guard for a moment. He quickly righted himself, however, knowing better than to leave himself vunerable for too long. It was a move he would have expected from Leo. Trying to balance himself, Drake tried to pull at least one leg out of her grip while bring down his first sword. He always thought two swords were better than one.

Using her honed strength and bracer to block the first sword, R'larin let go of his leg and righted herself quickly. Now holding a dagger she had grabbed from a sheath in her boot as she had gotten up, she danced out of Drake's way and put herself more on the defensive. Watching his movements, she smiled, he was better than she'd thought he'd be.

Watching her back up, Drake waited a moment to think up where to strike next. He made it appear as if he were hesitating before he charged in, his right sword ready to strike. But as he brought the sword down, he twisted himself to try and stink is left blade into her side.

Barely catching the feint, the night elf dropped into yet another crouch and launched herself between his legs. Parrying his left sword with her saber as she moved, R'larin made a move towards Drake's right heel to hamstring him.

Drake growled under his breath when R'larin got between his legs. He always hate how agile elves could be. Feeling the clink of her weapon against his armor, his legs gave way slightly but only because of the impact. Rather than swinging his sword down, he shifted then lifted one foot only to bring it back down to her.

Yanking her hand out of danger's way, she lashed out with her dagger as she side-stepped out of Drake's reach. Analyzing the situation as quickly as possible, she slipped back in front of him and made for the opening in armor under his arm with her saber. Smiling out of enjoyment, she used the moment he'd be distracted with his arm to strike a crease in armor on his side with her dagger.

*Following the well known path towards the forest, Riaka let out a small sigh as she looked around to everything around her. It had been a while since she had last been here or anywhere for that matter. School was holding her back from seeing her friends, but she needed to finish her work in order to get on with her life. Coming upon one of the larger trees, she then sat herself down beneath it as she made herself comfortable as she listened quietly. She wasn't waiting for anyone in particular, or for anyone at all, she just wanted to get out and enjoy the piece and quiet for a little while.*

Unhappy, Drake shifted to try and block the saber. But, as he did, his armor began to shift once more, spikes now 'growing' out of his right forarm. He felt the clink of blade against armor at his side. The armor seemed to have a mind of it's own and didn't seem to like being attacked. Now using the spikes, Drake moved to ram her with them, his other sword arm ready incase the move didn't work.
