Kaji looked up at his brother and sighed as he got up and walked over to the couch again. Before he got to the couch he grabbed as many light element books he could, even if they were copies of the same book. He sat down on the couch and started to read.

Alex entered the shower, removed his clothes, and allowed the water to pour over him. He closed his eyes, thinking. He tried to shut everything out, focusing on a single thing. The water... that's what he needed. To become a Watercaster instead of a Darkcaster. He sighed, and started washing himself.

Kaji was laying on his side, his tail wrapped around his left leg as he read the books. He was flipping the pages slowly, making sure to memorize all the words, pictures, tips, anything to help him with learning this element. He muttered spells to himself and made the target the candel in front of him. The candel started to glow, then glew brighter, then dimmed to normal.

Alex stepped out, leaving his clothes to dry from the washing they had also recieved. Wrapping his wings around himself, he wandered back down the hall, into his and Kaji's room, where he found Kaji practicing. "Good luck with getting good enough before you are thirty," Alex told him in a soft voice before he collapsed on the bed, pulling the covers overhimself.

Kaji looked up at Alex and said, "Watch me." He then watched his brother go to sleep. "There's going to be no sleep for this dragon tonight," said Kaji as he looked back at the book and set himself in for a long night of reading. "I'm going to lock that evil away for ever."

Alex rolled over to stare at Kaji. "I swear, younger brother or not, halfbreed or not, BARE or not... I will knock you out if you do not sleep tonight, Kaji." His eyes held that promise... he would do it, no matter what the conditions were.

"Just try it," said Kaji as he formed a ice spike in his hand and started to twirl it around. "Try and knock me you, and I'll push you back into the bed. You really shouldn't try it while you are naked. The effects of a artic cold wind on a naked body does not feel well." Kaji laughed a bit as he turned a page.

Alex's eyes narrowed. "Naked or not, I'm still part ice dragon. Cold won't affect me like it does a human." He realized that he was focusing too hard when the candle went out.

Kaji placed his hand over the candle and clicked two of his claws together. A spark lit the candle as he said, "Leaveme alone Alex. I have spent many a night staying up all night before. I'm used to it. You need your strength."

Alex's eyes narrowed. The covers flew backwards and the halfbreed shot forward, a blue of motion, and his fist went straight for Kaji's temple. His wings were still wrapped around himself, but that did nothing to impede him.

The ice spike that was twirling in his hand spun infront of Alex's hand and flattened to make a small wall. It cracked from the force of the punch as Kaji balled a hand up into a fist and shot it at his brother's gut. This punch had enough force behind it to knock his brother back onto the bed.

Alex took the hit... and it passed right through him as he vanished into thin air. Then he promptly reappeared on the other side of the wall of ice, his fist STILL heading for Kaji's temple. He was too angry to be shocked at the fact that he had become the ice, and then exited it. Like he had been able to do with shadows.

Kaji looked at the fist and a small wall of light solidified in front of it. "Alex, go back to bed," said Kaji as he lifted his leg to move Alex off and then his tail lashed at Alex's side to knock him back to the bed. Unlike Alex, Kaji was now using more then one element under his arsenal. His face never showed any emotion through this.

Alex took the tail in his stomach, and was thrown into the wall above his bed with a loud THUD. He fell onto his bed, and lay there, curled up. He was shaking, though whether it was from anger, or from some other emotion, that was impossible to tell... until Alex gave a shuddering sigh and began crying.

Kaji closed the book and got up from the couch silently. He walked over to Alex and sat down on the bed next to him. He laid his hand on his shoulder and said, "I'm sorry Alex. I didn't mean to hurt you." He sighed as he looked away at the floor.
