Tsurai tch'ed.

"Sit back down. That's pathetic. We're staying here until at least nightfall. So I suggest you take your jacket, put it over your face, and try and get some rest."

Tsurai rolled over and grabbed the water, sitting up with it in his lap. He drank a little, partly for himself, but mostly just to piss Isiah off for all the crap the man had given him earlier.

Isiah's eyes cut into slits, taking the step over, still leaving one foot in it's original place to yank the water from Tsurai. The arm momentum back made him lose his balance, however slim it was, and he fwumped onto his a**, grunting. "********... fine.." He lay down on his back, setting the jug ack down by Tsurai, laying one arm over his head. He nearly looked as though he was pouting.

Tsurai coughed.
"I really hope I don't look like that."
Grunting, he laid back down and started the whole pouring process over again.

"I'll stop when you stop swallowing. SO don't bother trying to talk."

Isiah rolled his eyes and gulped until Tsurai was finished, exhaling with a sigh of relief. He wondered how long it would take for the sun to set and release him from pseudo-bondage. His fists clenched idly before loosening, frustrated with his own weakness. Why'd it have to be heat? Whatever the ******** happened to nuclear winter?

Tsurai sighed and took the last of the water, drinking it for himself.
He looked over to the town so near, then back to Isiah.

With a groan, he fell on his back for the last time, shut his eyes, and tried to get some sleep.

Isiah fell into sleep soon afterward, not rousing until the sun's beams were dying in the west. He sat up, back creaking, revitalized from nearly six hours of solid, black sleep. He groaned at the sudden pain of movement, waiting for his nerves to adjust before opening his eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them with grubby fists.

He took a moment to figure out where he was, jerking his head to the side quickly to find Tsurai sleeping on the ground nearby. He released a sigh of relief, pulling his legs straight out with his hands, stretching to hold onto the arches, his head hovering above his knees. He held it there for thirty seconds before releasing, muscles twitching at being stretched after such vigorous use hours before.

He glanced over to Tsurai once he found himself sitting up again, wondering if he should wake him up. Sleep didn't come easy for him these days.

The boy groaned wearily in his half-sleep, rolling on his stomach and placing his face on his left forearm.

A shiver went down his spine from the very slight temperature variation, and Tsurai seemed to loosen up afterward.

But then something in his mind clicked, and forced his half-awake brain to full alertness, his body rolling over again and sitting up with the speed of lightning, searching for Isiah and speaking the name.

"Isiah?"

It only took a half a second to find the man, and once found, Tsurai gave a weary look.
"Are you okay now?" He asked, quizzically, using his left hand to help push him up on his feet.

But, of course, Tsurai only got halfway there, before falling back on his buttocks.
Wincing, the only thing he took pride in was the fact that he was able to stand higher before he collapsed.

"... Anyway," he groaned, rubbing his backside as he satm with one eye closed.

"If you're fine and all. I've been meaning to ask you."
The eighteen year old brought his hand to his face, rubbing it briefly before his fingers combed through thankfully shorter brown hair, bangs however still mangled.

"Who Kaegan really is."

Isiah groaned, not because of the question, but due to the pain of the stretch. He held it ten seconds longer before releasing, glancing upward toward Tsurai before sitting back up, hissing quietly as the muscles in his lower back complained.

"You heard about Kaegan in the messages too, huh?" He examined Tsurai's face, trying to read his mind, failing miserably. He continued without waiting for an answer. "Kaegan was my alpha.. he's.. the one who recruited me originally, I guess."

He felt sticky all over from the sweat and dirt that clung to him, but there wasn't anything to do about it.

Tsurai gave a sigh while he started to wrap his bangs around his finger in boredom.
"If he's so unimportant, then. Why'd you stop? I mean... When I said Kaegan wouldn't want you to push yourself so hard. If you hated him, you would've kept going on in spite. Right?"

He stopped playing with his hair and looked over to Isiah, his curiousity growing anew about this Kaegan.

Isiah grunted, his eyes staring off elsewhere- probably into the distance that held their destination. "I don't hate Kaegan. Hate is a strong word." He fumbled with his boot laces, untying to tighten them, just to give his fingers something to do while he pieced through his thoughts. "It's hard to hate someone like him, I guess."

He pulled on his laces with a tight jerk, tying quickly. "Though there have been times when I thought I did."

A light growl escaped his throat.
"You really like being vague, don't you?"

Tsurai put his hand behind his head and laid back down on his back, looking atthe darkening sky.

"Why do you do that?"
PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 9:06 am

He groaned. "Why the sudden is it my duty to tell you everything about my personal life, kid? I spent years trying to forget some of the things you're asking me. Years. I went through a lot of pain and suffering to get out of it."

He moved onto his other boot, untying and tightening with short, jerky motions.

"I can't understand how you can be fascinated by something that is so intensely painful to me, after all the help I've given you. I don't know if you like to watch me suffer, or if it's just natural curiosity, or both, but I'm telling you now, any answers you get from me won't be straight forward unless you ask for specifics. It's not my job to translate your sentences and give you the answer you want."

Tsurai regretted ever asking Isiah anything, now.

Turning on his side, so he didn't have to see Isiah out of the corner of his eyes, he breathed a "Sorry," and tried to forget the panging in his head wanting to know more.

Isiah finished lacing his boots, pushing himself onto his feet. "Well... I'm ready when you are."

He leaned over to pick up the jacket he had lain over his face during the day, walking toward Tsurai. "You should put this on. Do you need help?"

Tsurai grumbled and got up, yanking the jacket from Isiah's hand and putting it on himself, not bothering with his right arm.

"If you pick me up. Let me try to walk..." He stated, looking at the ground.
