My Dark Duck continues his guarding stance (which is 5).
Then I play Malevolent Beaver once again (the creature I had taken back from the graveyard).
Now, since Malevolent Beaver (2atk,1def) and Dark Duck (1atk,5def) are both on the field, their special ability activates. Both monsters merge to form the Sinister Platypus (I discarded the two original monsters and played the new monster from my hand, and it can only be played under these circumstances). With its Attack of 5 and Defense of 5, the Sinister Platypus is a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, he cannot be used the turn on which he is summoned.
My 1 face-down spell card remains as it is.

"... I don't want to be perceived the way I am..." CHEATER!!!!!!!! You said the Malevolent Beaver had only 2 attack power when you attacked me, and clumsy guard was able to defend me entirely. You have been discluaified from this tournament, I win by defualt "... I just want to be perceived the way I am."

It decreases your Sinister Platypus' defence to 3 slapping it with silly putty. And I have my Fairy Sumo Wrestler to attack your Sinister Platypus, and since it's attack was doubled from attacking your Malevolent Beaver the first time, it's attack is four, dealing 1 damage to you. "... I just want to be perceived the way I am."

Sinister Platypus is destroyed!
I flip up my spell card: Evil Balance! Any life I lost on your last turn is dealed to you as well (aka = you lose 1 point as well, regardless of your monsters defending, because it is a spell card).
Now, I play the Black Fortress spell card (playing it directly from my hand)! So long as this card is active, any monster I summon will have its defense boosted by 1. The downside is that I must discard one card for every monster I play while Black Fortress is in effect. Black Fortress is only deactivated when I have no cards in my hand.
Next I play a monster: Night Knight! His defense of 3 is augmented to 4; his attack is 6.

I roll a d20 to see if your Night Knight gets destroyed, I have to roll a 10+ the natural defence of each of your monters, but since only one monster is out right now, I only roll one. "... I just want to be perceived the way I am."
